description and services

Accommodation: From the moment you pull up outside and then enter the Drovers Inn you just know that you are experiencing something truly unique. You can simply sense three centuries of Scottish hospitality. Within, you can truly sense the history of the people who have passed through; the ghosts are in the walls, generations of tales in the air. The Drovers Inn is on old inn used by the Highland drovers who used to drive their cattle down the side of Loch Lomond to the markets. The decor and furniture, in deference to the past, look as though they have not been changed or altered for a couple of hundred years. As you enter the reception hall you are faced by a full grown, stuffed grizzly bear, an assortment of other animals and the assured feeling that this place is going to stay in your consciousness for a long time to come! And for all the right reasons.

Bar & Restaurant: Stagger Inn: Immediately across the road from the Drovers there is, in contrast to the Drovers, a reliably new facility with 16 rooms and an a la carte restaurant - for those who prefer, there is the choice to enjoy an excellent meal in a more conventional restaurant and still enjoy the atmosphere of the Drovers Inn for your after dinner drinks. Drovers Inn Food: The Drovers offers just exactly what you'd expect from a traditional Scottish Inn. Hearty portions of wholesome Scottish produce. Food is served throughout the day in the Howff or when busy in the Laird's Bothy or Poachers Den.

Location: Scotland is serviced by three main airports in the central belt - Glasgow Airport (50 minutes from Drovers), Edinburgh Airport (90 minutes) and Prestwick Airport (70 minutes).

Activities: Loch Lomond offers the outdoor enthusiast any number of reasons to visit from gentle walking to challenging mountaineering; from messing about on boats to waterskiing; from playing golf to watching the world's best at Loch Lomond.
