comments Had a really good time in general and enjoyed the leisure centre; however water in the outdoor bath was too cold (for winter :-) Food was very tasty; special note about the waiters/waitresses at the restaurant: they were extremely nice and kind!

comments Our stay at the Glenview was very nice. The food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. Close to all activities and attractions we climbed the sugarloaf while we were there and it is just a few minutes drive from the hotel. The room was very clean and clean towels etc., were given every day. Overall our stay was very pleasant and we had a lovely few days away.

comments We enjoyed our stay at the Glenview Hotel. The hotel was perfectly located to visit all the wonderful sites in Wicklow. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and the dinner most enjoyable. The one thing that I feel could be improved on is the bar area - during the day it kind of resembles a fancy cafe and at night it is too bright to be cosy.

comments I was extremely satisfied from my stay in the Glenview. The warm and friendly atmosphere created by staff makes the stay very enjoyable. The lovely views over the Glen of the Downs from the hotel are very relaxing. My wife really enjoyed her treatments in the spa and the food and service in the woodlands restaurant was exceptional. I will definitely stay again in the Glenview and recommend it to friends and family.

comments This is my second time staying at the this Hotel. It has a lovely location, and I really enjoyed my stay. The view from the restaurant where you have breakfast is breathtaking. Food is excellent and service excellent. I would recomment this Hotel. The only fault that I would have is the stairs going up to the leisure centre are very steep (alot of steps) for anyone with young children or anyone with walking difficulites. The leisure centre is excellent though.

comments We had our wedding at the Glenview last year and the whole day was excellant,from the staff,the food and the rooms.The staff couldnt do enough for us on the day.This year myself and my husband celebrated our first wedding anniversary there by eating at the woodlands restaurant and staying the night and the food in the restaurant was excellant,breakfast the next morning was lovely too.Staff again were so nice.I would really recommend the Glenview for any occasion food is reasonably priced and so is the drinks..

comments The hotel is very nice, the staff are freindly and efficient. Dinner was very good in the restaurant or the bar but the cooked breakfast was not good. We were unfortunate in that we had a room at the back of the hotel which not only does not have a view but is so close to the trees it is claustrophobic.

comments My wife and I had a two night stay stayed at the Glenview Hotel in early September 2011.We both enjoyed the wonderful hospitality of the staff where nothing was too much trouble. Dinner in the Woodland Restaurant was excellent as was the breakfast on the two mornings we stayed.It is situated in the picturesque county of Wicklow ,its gardens and environs at well at home there and many golf courses are within easy reach. We played the Glen of the Downs and Charlesland courses..With a top class gym and swimming pool it has everything we wanted for our short stay.

comments This is our third time staying in the hotel, and we have always been extremely happy with all aspects of our stay. We would recommend this hotel highly. The only issue which arose this time was that there were guests from a wedding staying next door on our second night, and they were extremely loud in their partying in the middle of the night. This meant that we did not get much sleep at all which obviously affected us the next day. It would have been better if all wedding guests stayed in the same part of the hotel to avoid this happening in the future. I do'nt know if this would be possible.

comments The hotel was beautiful and the staff were very nice. The setting is lovely and we really enjoyed the gardens. The only criticism was that our room 210 smelt very strongly of smoke and I think maybe the curtains and carpets would need to be cleaned to eliminate ths.

comments What can I say? Fantastic hotel with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Had dinner on one evening with a view of the mountains and the hotels gardens and it was gorgeous. The only thing I would comment on is the fact that there was only one plate of veg. brought out for dinner between two of us. Not an issue but were just not sure if there was more to come of not. Having said that, there was more than enough quality food for each of us. Thanks for a lovely break in Wicklow. Next time we are considering that area for a break there will be no need for us to research any hotels!!!!

comments We were extremely happy with our stay at Glenview Hotel. Very well sign-posted so really easy to find which is a real bonus at the end of a long day's drive. The staff are exceptional here. From the manager Mr. Hevey, the duty manager Mr. McNamara, the receptionist (with Sneem connections) the bar staff and restaurant staff, who were very busy on the night but (we chatted to them all!) - each and every one of them was full of relaxed, natural personality and made our stay very special and memorable. The atmosphere in the bar was wonderful and the service was fast and efficient I didn't particularly like the way in which my monkfish was cooked, but overall the bar food was very good. I would most definitely return to stay in the Glenview and I would definitely recommend it to our friends. Regards, Lilly & Eugene Ross.

comments From the moment we stepped up to the receptionist to book in until we booked out was a fantastic experience. We stayed in Room 304 which was beautiful - clean, fresh and views to die for. We visited Greystones in the afternoon and had a meal. We did look at the menus and thought them rather expensive. Breakfast the next day was plentiful and the cooked items were hot. The staff make a place and I have to say the staff on reception and at breakfast were a credit. This was our first visit and we left our email so that we can be kept informed of offers so clearly it will not be our last.

comments We stayed 2 nights in a family room 2 adult and 2 chldren which we thought was great value for money. The room was a good size and included a ample wardrobe space and an en-suite. The whole hotel was clean and well decorated and I particularly liked the small dressing room which separated the bedroom from the main hallway so that there were 2 doors between you and any passersby making for a peaceful nights sleep. We ate in the bar both nights with the children and the menu catered for all of our tastes. We all used the leisure facilities and enjoyed the beautiful woodland walks and gardens, even manged to see a wold deer in the grounds at very close range! We would reccommend the hotel to any family.

comments Hi, I stayed with my wife and 17 month old. Staff were very helpful. Room was spaceous and they provided a mini fridge to keep milk cool while we were there. We used the leisure centre and really enjoyed the pool. very good facilities. Had lunch in the bar both days, which was very busy. Overall, would recommend it.

comments This is the second time that I have stayed at the hotel and I was impressed overall with the hotel. The room we stayed in this time 318 could do with a lick of paint as it seemed slightly dated and to be honest smelled of cigarette smoke. The previous time I had stayed we were in rooms on other side and these were bigger and better. Restarunt and dinner were very good and no complaints there. The leisure facilities were great especially the outdoor hot tub and pool. No entertainment on in the bar at night which made it a bit dull in the evening.

comments We found the Glenview to be a great hotel, full character, with good food and friendly staff. Our room was very clean, as were the public toilets and the hotel in general. Its definitely a nice place to spend a few days with a small family; we enjoyed the pleasant walks in the extensive grounds and found that the swimming pool catered for needs of both adults and small children. We will definitely consider returning on our next visit to the Dublin Area.

comments We booked a last minute break with our 2 children and were absolutely delighted with our stay - the room, leisure centre and kids club were all top class. We are now planning a family break there next year to have lunch for our son's communion and an overnight for ourselves and his grandparents - a lovely treat a short trip from our home in Dublin. comments My husband and I spent a two night break at the Glenview Hotel. It is a really cosy hotel and we totally relaxed. The staff were extremely helpful, courtious and attentive. The rooms were very comfortable and the food was fabulous. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a total get away and relaxation weekend.

comments I would not call this a 4 star hotel!!! Rooms were dated and paint peeling, tv was tiny and reception was brutal, only had a few channels. The treatments were lovely but the room had a lot to be desired....on the up side dinner was beautiful and swimming pool and views were lovely too!

comments Really enjoyed our stay, Santa was extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with. A couple of downsides; the bar food wasn't great (quite bland) and bar service on the Saturday eve was dreadful. We were one of the parties there that evening and it was incredibly slow to get served.

comments As this was a 1 night break away from home, I planned to use leisure facilities before using restaurant for dinner. We planned our evening according to the hotel information provided in the room. however according to the room information the leisure club/pool closed at 9.00 so I thought we would swim about 7.15 and head for dinner at 8.30. Upon arrival at pool was informed then it closed at 7.30 on a saturday. This meant we didn't have the oppertunity to use the pool during our visit. I was most dissappointed with this!! I pointed it out at reception upon checkout, and it was suggested I use the pool at this time!!! This did not suit and I felt dissapointed as my otherwise lovely weekend was ruined. Please ensure the hotel management are made aware of this situation.

comments Just a few minor probs 1 pillows were substandard 2 no dressing gowns or face cloths 3 radiator didnt work 4 breakfast on sat morning tinned fruit and no natural yogurt. When we complained re face cloths and radiator and pillows they were rectified promptly. On the plus side staff were very friendly and dinner on sat night was excellent.

comments While we enjoyed our stay overall, I'd like to mention the following: Positive: lovely large room with picturesque view; delicious dinner; loved pool area (but changing rooms too cold, doors into area and along that corridor need better spring closing systems to keep in heat). Room for improvement: hot-tub out of order, big disappointment as this is a rare enough selling point and therefore should be regarded as an urgent repair; as soon as one enters the hotel, one feels the lack of warmth (despite the friendly, helpful staff), heating is just not sufficient, and particularly noticeable in the afternoon and evening if dining or having a drink in either lounge, just not cosy enough - therefore one is not inclined to spend in the bar and the hotel loses repeat business. The towel rail in the batrooms being heated (centrally controlled) for just an hour in the morning (whatever about the evening) is just not enough. We got the feeling that heating cutback is a cost cut, however, it's a false economy as you'll loose repeat business. We would love to be able to repeat similar short stays, but unfortunately could not endure it unless the heating was guaranteed to be at a much higher cosier level. Sincerely, Eithne

Its bizarre that the hotel is so near the N11,yet you feel like you are in the middle of the country. It was so lovely and peaceful. The staff were extremely attentive, genuinely friendly and efficient and the food in both the bar and restaurant were out of this world! We are definitely going back.

comments Very easy to find and within easy travelling distance from Bray and Dublin. The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings with stunning views of the nearby scenery. This was our second visit to the hotel and i'm sure not our last. The first time we were there we didn't explore the gardens so it was a treat this time when we discovered how beautiful they are and the great opportunity they gave to sit and watch the world go by. We received a warm welcome on arrival and were very pleased with our room. During our stay we ate in both the restaurant and the bar. The service and food in the restaurant was excellent and to a higher sandard than the bar. The leisure facilities were 5 star. Overall, we had a very relaxing and enjoyable time.

comments From the time we arrived at the Glenview to our departure date we found staff at the hotel and the hotel to exceed expectations. Staff were friendly and efficient and could not do enough for us. The hotel itself was kept very well with wonderful grounds to take a stroll through. On two evenings we dined in the restaurant and found the food there to be excellent, the service was prompt without being rushed and i would have no problem recommending the hotel to a relative or friend.

comments We had a very enjoyable week-end stay at the Glenview. Room was good sized and clean. Bed was comfortable, but could have done with more pillows. Breakfasts were good and the restaurant dinner excellent in both quality and presentation. Staff were always polite and friendly. Only down side is that some carpets in public areas are showing noticeable wear. The walks around the hotel were very pleasant even though the weather was cold during our stay. We would consider staying here again.

The only thing I recommend is to remove the salt & pepper and the sauce holders from the tables at the bar after dinner time so it feels more like a bar than a dining area.

comments we stayed for one night and the only complaint we had was that we didn't stay for another night. we availed of the special offer in the Haven of 3 treatments for €100 which was great value and very enjoyable. The food was the beat I have tasted in a long time and everyone was in agreement. To top it all it worked out alot cheaper than we thought. We would definitely recommend the Glenview to our friends for a pampering weekend.

comments The views from the hotel are beautiful. The weather was extremely warm when we stayed and we would have loved to walk around the gardens but unfortunately we have a 3 month old and there are a lot of steps to get around them so they were out of bounds with a buggie. This was the only drawback though - the room was huge and comfortable, the staff were very friendly and being able to use the leisure facilities was an added bonus. Will definitely stay again!

comments The hotel location is in a very nice setting, overlooking the flem. The views from the hotel are very pleasant. The gardens are very pleasant and well maintained. The balcony area at the front of the hotel is anice place to sit on a summers evening. The staff were very courteous and helpful. The dinner ans the breakfast in the restauarant was very good. The decor of the restauarant cobined with the view of the glen is very nice. The bar is nice4ly layed out and the staff were courteous and the bar food was very good. The leisure centre cobbined with the spacious hotel make it a good hotel for families. Its also in a good location for visting Bray and Powerscourt.

comments This was an excellant hotel. The scenery surrounding the hotel alone would make a stay in the Glenview worthwhile. The room was comfortable and clean and luxurious. We had treatments in the Haven and really enjoyed it. Staff were friendly and efficient. The Leisure centre is gorgeous as is the Woodlands restaurant. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend.

comments My stay in Glenview was magnificent. Myself and my husband went for a bit of time out during the week. We arrived early and had lunch and then went to book in. We were a bit early and our room wasn't ready so we sat in the foyer by the fire while we waited. The receptionist upgraded us to an Executive Room, we were flabbergasted when we saw it, it was just beautiful. We had a beautiful view of the Sugarloaf Mountains. The room was spotless and the bathroom was fabulous and very clean. We had dinner at 7 and were given a lovely table with a view of the mountains. The food and wine was exceptional. The service was quick and the staff were lovely. We went to the bar for a few drinks after dinner but unfortunatly left as the bar was very cold so we sat in the foyer by the fire before retiring to our room. We had a beautiful breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel. My husband and I are already planning our next stay there.
