comments We really enjoyed our stay at Brandon House and we really enjoyed the spa. The only negative was when we had carvery lunch on Sunday the chef was very rude and off putting, my husband asked was there any roast potatoes as he was having a roast dinner and the chef looked at him in an unkind way and just said "NO" in a high pitched voice. I asked him for chips and he then said to the other chef (female) "get her chips". I didn’t think this was a very nice way to speak to his customers. Otherwise all other staff were very helpful and friendly. Thanks Aileen

comments My Husband myself and our grandaughter had a very pleasant few days staying at the Brandon House hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room and the hotel in general was very nice,we realy enjoyed the leasure centre and the food including the bar food was excelent, we also visited Hook Lighthouse, President Kennedys Homestead and the President Kennedy Park all of which were most enjoyable. The Music on the wednesday night was excellent even though there was not a huge crowd in the lounge at the time, the singer was very good. We would highly recommend a stay at the Brandon

comments We had an excelletn stay. Teh staff were very pleasant and made looking after two children very easy. They appreciated the problems involved in having two small children away from home and we never felt we were in the way or of any bother at all. The leisure centre was excellent and overall we had a very enjoyable couple of days.

comments It was a pleasure to stay at the Brandon House Hotel in New Ross. It is in a lovely peaceful location, the hotel is clean, staff are friendly and the breakfast is fantastic. The only down side was that the hotel was very warm inside and they could do with a bit of background music in the bar, its a little quiet when you are trying to have a conversation. But overall its a lovely hotel to stay in.

comments Stayed the June Bank Holiday weekend and it was our first time. It was the best weekend ever. Rooms excellent, Restaurant was superb, the Maitre' D was very professional and had his eye on the ball ! The leisure Centre was better than expected our 10 year old had a great time in the pool. Overall the staff were very friendly and helpful, we enjoyed it so much I have booked it again for October.

comments on both the saturday and sunday afternoons and evenings there were functions arranged which took over all the social areas of the hotel except for the main dining room - we felt that there was little consideration for residents and it was impossible to get a drink at the bar or sit in bar/library areas. the entrance/exit was also cluttered by significant numbers of smokers from the functions. other than that we were extremely satisfied with the hotel room, staff, breakfast and we enjoyed two excellent dinners. we did make these points verbally to the receptionist on leaving.

comments Everything was great, except the room. It was a little dissapointing, most of all the beds. They were very uncomfortable and the double bed could have been a little bigger. The decor in the rooms was old and a little shabby, and there were a couple of things I didn't like, such as the wallpaper bubbling from previous damp and a broken tap in the bathroom. That said, however, overall we enjoyed our stay. The dinner was top notch, as were the breakfasts (except for a strong taste of coffee from the teapots). The leisure centre was excellent, the kids really enjoyed it. Overall I would have given our stay a satisfaction rating of 5 only for the rooms.

The facilities were great and the kids loved the pool. The food was great too. The room we had was very basic but clean and had everything we needed, and overall we had a great weekend.

comments i dont normally reply to a request for a reference but this time i just have to the bedroom was just average but when we went for dinner it was exceptional every course was exploding with taste my wife and i both agreed it was the best we had had in the last five years we went back the next night had different courses and they were still fabulous we will travel from donegal again to sample the food at the brandon house

comments The Brandon is a beautiful country house, the staff are excellent & the new spa is top class. We have stayed here several times & never been disappointed. The resturant serves great food & has a lovely atmosphere. For more casual dining the bar food is equaly as good. We love this hotel so much that we had our wedding reception there a year ago even though we live more than 50 miles away! Cannot recommended enough for families and couples.

comments Hotel is very pleaseant to stay in for 3 star. Rooms are basic decor but clean. I would rate the staff very highly indeed. The only issue I would have is with the food. Although the choice and presentation is very appealing, the food is sometimes cold, or smothered in sauce so it's hit and miss. I've stayed in the hotel twice and both times fealt the same. An example is this time I had the nicest rack of lamb main course I've had anywhere - an absolutely gorgeous dinner. But then I had apple crumble for dessert. The crumble was mush and the custard, of which there was too much, was hot in places and cold in places suggesting to me that the dessert was heated in the microwave, something I wouldnt even do myself with crumble and I'm not a cook, never mind a chef !

comments The room was very nice, and we were very impressed with the leisure centre. Breakfast was a bit disorganised on the first morning and they ran out of eggs as we were queueing but Sunday was fine. The meal in the restaurant on Saturday night was lovely and the service was excellent. The only other quibble we had with the hotel was the loud live music friday night in the library bar. We would have much rathered they didtn bother with any music and we felt it took from the overall ambience of the place.

comments Really enjoyed my stay, couldn?t fault it in any way, I have stayed in a lot of Hotel's/Health Spa's but have to say this was my best experience as the staff were so friendly and accommodating, the food was excellent and the Health Spa was the icing on the cake. Initially i only booked a 2 day stay but ended staying for 3 days because i felt so relaxed and at home. Will deffently recommend The Brandon House Hotel to my fiends & staff and will most deffently be returning myself.

comments This hotel has a unique style. It combines the old world style of the original "big" house with high-tech environmentally friendly design in the modern spa. Its recent modernisation seems to be localised and some areas are a little tired in decor, however, it has the friendliest & most helpful staff we've encountered in recent years travelling around Ireland. As a family of four we had a wonderful weekend, the only downside was that we would have preferred advance warning of the bedroom arrangement (i.e. bunk beds and very small)

Because the hotel has a lot of weddings and such like on, we found that the parking could be a problem but to be fair, we always got a space in the end. Although it may have taken a while to find one and it was a futher distance from the hotel than we would have liked. I used the Beauty Spa and found it was only ok. The food in both the restaurant and the bar was lovely and the service very good. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the kids loved the swimming pool!

comments The only snag we had was that the rooms were small for 2 Adults and 2 children. We had to upgrade to a bigger single room as there are no 1 bedroom suites. That aside we had a great time, the staff were great and very helpful. A film was run for the kids every night giving us some time to ourselves. The swimming pool and Hydro grotto was very good and My wife loved them. Food in the restaurant was good with a good selection. There is a new spa a joining hotel just about to open. Would go back

I would only have one issue with the hotel if you are staying on a weekend and there is a wedding taking place the whole bar and lobby area are over taken by it,also the hotel staff were over run with the wedding guests requests so if you weren't involved with the wedding you were more or less forgotten about. I had the misfortune to have two weddings take place during my stay. I would love to stay here when there are no functions on I'm guessing it would be a wonderful retreat for the day to day stress.

comments Have to say we felt it ws the best value for money short break we've ever had with children. Lots to do with the kids close to aswell as in the hotel. Great leisure centre, friendly and professional staff. to be honest we were going with an open mind as it cost so little so we were amazed at how great it was. we never once had to ring reception to ask for something, usually on arrival we find hotels forget to set up cot for us and we were impressed to see it set up here when we arrived!!! We felt comforable and welcome in the public areas of the hotel with very young children which isnt always the case!! Little things like that make such a difference when you are travelling with kids. Going back next month!

comments The only think I noticed was I throught the furniture was a bit tattered expecially in the front area where people used for the smoking area. Everything else was excellent. Staff were all lovely and very pleasent. Food was lovely and plenty of it. I thought the treatment rooms could do with a uplift. I had a facial and where the therepast was excellent the surrounds could have been more relaxing. The pool area was excellent and the changing rooms etc., were elcellent. comments Overall stay was very enjoyable. Only downside was there was a lot of noise in the corridors late at night. I didnt see any signs asking patrons to respect others who might be sleeping.

comments We thoroughly enjoyed our pleasant stay in the Brandon house. The Spa facilities were most invigourating and were enhanced by the excellent staff - in fact just what the doctor ordered. We will return.

comments Nice hotel. Lovely leisure centre. Bar food very dissapointing - possible one of the worst sandwiches I have ever encountered - very poor presentation, however restaurant food was lovely- our booking was for 2nd sitting @ 8.30, as it was very busy we had to wait until 9.20 to be seated, which was rather late & we were very hungry at that stage & not impressed, by way of an apology we got a free bottle of wine with our dinner, which was nice, but we would have preferred to have been seated at the correct time. Restuarant staff should advise people at the 1st sitting at 6.30, that they need to vacate the table by 8.15 for arrivals at 2nd sitting, which clearly isnt happening at present. Overall though this did not spoil our time here & I would go back again if I was in the area.

comments Should have prebooked the spa treatment as it was unavailable..fully booked up. Also should have pre booked the evening meal as it was almost fully booked ang had to wait until 9.30pm to eat. Hotel itself was very nice.

comments The welcome when we arrived, was very warm and enthusiastic. The foyer and bar areas were welcoming and inviting. the Dining room was quiet when we started dinner @7pm but it filled up quite quickly and both the food and the atmosphere was lively. The Head waiter/maitre D' was amusing, but non intrusive. The rooms were nice and the Leisure Centre was lovely.

comments I really enjoyed my stay ion the hotel. I found the staff to be efficient courteous and very helpful. I found the dinners portions were small but tasty. I could have eaten to dinners. One thing I found was the sole of the children's socks were black from running around in the bed room. All in all we enjoyed out stay in the Brandon hotel and would stay their again

comments Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We felt that the exterior and main areas of the hotel were very well presented. However, we were surprised to see that the bedroom was more dated and did not quite live up to our expectations. The food served in the Gallery restaurant was absolutely superb. We enjoyed a fabulous meal and cannot rate it highly enough. Unfortunately the food we received from room service was disappointing, despite being equally as expensive as the restaurant food. The swimming pool and health and leisure facilities were really nice and very clean. Our children had a great time in the pool, which was not too deep for them. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, which helped to make our stay very pleasant.
