comments Stayed in the Granville on the 10th of December for a night with my wife and really enjoyed it. The rooms were nice, the staff very friendly and the food very good. Also a super location in the city near the river, walking distance to all the pubs, restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay there again.

comments The Granville is a really lovely hotel. I have stayed there three times in the last year. I would recommend it wholeheartdley and hope to get down for a night away in the New Year. Very reasonable rates, food is excellent, in particular the breakfast- cooked to order and served- very rare in hotels now. Rooms lovely and comfortable. Staff very efficent and friendly. Will be back down in the New Year and have recommended hotel to family and friends.

comments This was indeed a grand hotel and our room was very comfortable and clean . The breakfast in the morning was very good. Our only complaint was we had a room in the front of the hotel, facing the street and in the early morning there was noise from tourist bus groups.

comments Enjoyed our stay at the Granville very much. Our room was very nice an the hotel service was excellent. It was a bit of a challenge competing with the various tour groups that were in the hotel, especially at breakfast; and the lift had to be shared with service, luggage, and guests; but those little annoyances did not detract from the ambience and service at the Granville.

comments My sister and I enjoyed our stay at the Granville in Waterford. We found the staff at the Granville, very pleasant and although our room was smaller than most the decor made it feel like a room in some one's home instead of a hotel. and we loved it. The food in both the bar and the restaurent was well worth the stay...Excellent.

comments The hotel was lovely, we had a great stay and were pleased with the value. Staff were very helpful and espcially attentive with my mother in law who has a gluten intolerence - the waiting staff at both breakfast and dinner knew exactly what she could not eat. The hotel is a beautiful building, well kept and the service with the carpark payment was great. Just one thing, which did not cause us a problem, but you may want to look into. We booked a disabled room at time of booking because my father in law was ill, sadley he passed away 4 weeks before we travelled, and I e-mailed the hotel to let you know we no longer needed the disabled room, and recieved an e-mail back from your reservation team confirming you recieved this, but at time of check in we were still given the disabled room. Not a problem to us, but may have been to another disabled guest if they had wanted the room.

comments On arrival were offered room 309. On entering this room there was a very unpleasant smell asked to be moved and were shown room 123 which was very depressing, finally we were offered room 302 opposite the laundry which was certainly better. Tricia from laundry was very helpful. Food was very good particularly the cooked breakfast. I had poached eggs and bacon which were cooked too perfection.

comments The staff in the hotel were very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere in the hotel was friendly and the location is very convenient. Our room was facing away from the street and the only downside was the noise of extractor fans on an internal roof. These were turned off before midnight.

comments I booked a double room for 2 adults and 2 children for a midweek break coming up to the august bank holiday with the request for a travel cot. When i got there the hotel put us up in a family room 2 single beds and 1 double bed which exceeded our expectations. The room was spaceious and spotless. The breackfast was great and the dinner included in the package was outstanding. This was our first family break for two years and the Granville Hotel staff made it a most enjoyable experience. I'll stay here again next time we visit waterford.

comments I LOVE this hotel! Every time I'm in Waterford (3 times this year and counting), I make a point to stay here. The rooms are comfortable, the housekeeping is excellent, I love that hair dryer in the bathroom. But most of all, it's the outstanding, attentive staff that keeps me coming back. They remember me every time I come! When you're 4,000 miles from home, that really means a lot. Keep up the excellent work guys.

comments The Granville was recommended by a friend and we were not disapointed. Lovely clean and spacious room with comfy bed and extra pillows in wardrobe. Friendly, chearful, helpful staff. Early Bird evening meal good value and wonderful food - full Irish breakfast meant we didn't need lunch! Not used to being on main road so might request room at the back next time as we like to sleep with window open!

The Hotel is based in a superb location central to all requirements. We found the the room to be very clean and cosy. The hotel itself is relaxed & welcoming. The staff are friendly and helpful. comments Lovely hotel,, ideally situated. Fine breakfast, the early bird dinner (pork snizzels) could have been better. Parking arrangements are ok if you don't use your car in the evening, otherwise you have to pay the hourly rate. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Staff helpful and polite, mostly east european, don't Irish people want to work in hotels anymore.

comments My parents and myself have been staying at The Granville Hotel for over 30 years. We feel that it is like a second home to us and the staff are the most welcoming and friendly people we have met. Our last stay was in March 2011, which was sadly our first return to the hotel since the death of my father, who loved The Granville so much. The kindness of the staff made this much easier for my mother. The hotel itself is beautiful - full of traditional Irish style and comfort with roaring fires on a cold day in Waterford. The bedrooms and bathrooms are sparkingly clean and comfortable - I think the rooms on the fifth floor are the best, but then all the rooms are lovely. The Irish Breakfast is superb - freshly cooked and always hot. The evening meals in The Bianconi Restaurant are traditional Irish fare - simply cooked and excellent quality. The location of the hotel is probably the best in Waterford, right on the Quays and literally a minutes walk to the shops. In fact, it is interesting to note that The Granville is THE meeting place for the Waterford locals, whether for a coffee, lunch or a drink in the lovely bar. If you talk to the locals you would realise the affection they feel for The Granville - they regard it as "their hotel" and it is always the preferred place for a Waterford Wedding. To sum up - if you are visiting Waterford then The Granville is the best place you could stay.

comments Dear Granville, While overall, I was satisfied with my room, the smell of stale smoke in the corridors was quiet off putting. I was also genuinely surprised at the size of the bathroom. While the room was quiet spacious, it was quiet disappointing to have to shuffle around the door, as my wife and I were preparing for dinner. I mentioned the smoke at the desk in the morning. comments This is our third year to enjoy a November weekend break in the Granville Hotel. Our room was excellent to the front with a lovely view of the boats and Quay. We awoke on Saturday morning to a winter wonderland and as a result did not explore any further other than walking and shopping in the town. As we both work full time we decided to have our breakfast delivered to our room and it arrived punctual, hot and delicious. The entertainment on both nights was to a very high standard and we enjoyed dancing the nights away. We had our meal in the restaurant on Saturday and it was up to its usual excellent standard. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We will be back next November for another weekend break. Thanks to all the staff who made our stay so enjoyable.

comments The Granville Hotel exceeded our expectations. The checkin was easy and friendly. We booked a special offer of 2 nights B&B with one evening dinner for 2. The bar is always lively and again very friendly staff. The room we were in did not have a view but this is our preference as we prefer to be away from any main roads. The room had a double and a single bed with large space and lovely bathroom. The dinner we had was a set menu with 6 main choices, starter, dessert and tea/coffee which I think is their early bird menu (5.30pm - 7pm) but for our deal they offer it all evening. The food was lovely, generous portions, service efficient and we enjoyed every mouthful. Breakfast is also excellent. Lots on offer and the cooked breakfast is hot and tasty.

Unfortunately I waited 15 mins before my order was taken for a meal in the bar and a further 40 mins before it arrived!!! I will be back.

The only comments I would make we expected to have a seperate seating area in our room as we paid for a suite and the bar service for drink was very slow. Sometimes the bar was left unattended in the evening for several minutes. Bar food excellent great value for money and floor staff excellent.

comments on arrival we were greeted warmly, staff in every dept.were courteous and professional. Dinner in the restaurant was superb .We would stay in The Granville again, provided we got a more comfortable bedroom than one we were allocated, which was a small attic type with Velux windows-very, very noisy,as a result what was to have been a restfull weekend was rather a sleepless one. comments I stayed at the Granville for Valentine's and had dinner on that night. I had requested a quiet corner table and was delighted with where we were seated. Women received a red rose at the end of their meal - in fact the restaurant manager(I assume it was her position) made a great fuss of producing roses to people whom she seemed to know. However, I did not receive one. We went to the bar for after-dinner drinks and I decided to ask my partner to return to the restaurant and get a rose which he duly did with an apology from the "manager?" I think you should consider producing the rose with dessert and therefore customers won't feel that some get preferential treatment!

When we arrived on the Saturday at 12pm we was given our room straight away altho check in is not till 2.30pm The food, staff, rooms, entertainment, hospitality is faultless, I would recommend this hotel to anyone, on checking out of the hotel I re-booked again for the end of the month...there is nothing negative I can say against this hotel or staff. Parking is adjacent to this hotel and the hotel includes the price of parking overnight up to 11o'clock the next day in the price of your stay. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

comments i came down to the front desk to asked for a shower cap. the look in her eyes, her tone and attitude wasn't pleasant and worse still she rang my room to say the hotel was out of shower cap. however the girls i met on the day i checked in were great. also the food was fantastic.

comments The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. However the room was smaller than I expected and the bed even smaller.

comments A nice clean hotel, a short walk from the main street and beech. The gym and pool nextdoor are excellent. We were given a room over the main reception hall which got very noisy at night but as soon as we complained we were moved to a quiet room at the other end of the hotel.

comments The Granville is immaculately maintained and the staff are super friendly. The location is stunning right in the heart of things. The only quibble was that the mattresses in our room were rather tired.
