comments The Fitzwilton is conveniently located for Waterford town centre. The rooms were clean and spacious. Food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was good though nothing spectacular. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.

comments I was expecting an average hotel when I booked the Fitzwilton but when I got there I was very surprised by the place. It was a fabulous hotel, very nicely decorated, staff were very pleasant. I would definitely recommend it and have recommended it to a number of my friends.

comments The only reason this doesnt get a 5 is because there is no gym/pool. fantastic value, lovely rooms- didnt get breakfast as went room only but ate & drank in bar & normally I hate hotel bars- this was really lovely & relaxing with good food. Reception staff couldnt be more helpful!

comments We had a pleasant stay in this hotel, especially as we had such a terrible stay in another hotel on the previous two nights in Limerick. The other hotel had more-or-less the same price per night, but I would never recommend it to anyone I know. That can't be said of the Fitzwilton. The staff greeting us were great, the room was clean and fresh, decoe recently redone and it was a quiet room - I slept soundly. The breakfast was delicious (we took it in our room) and more than we could eat. If you're going to Waterford, stay here

comments We have stayed in this Hotel before and It's a really nice place to stay and in a good location. The only problem was that parking was very difficult and I found when coming home at night, the security guards approched us in a rather inappropriate manor, chasing you through the lobby.

comments we had dinner included in our stay and when we got into the restaurant and sat down our wine glasses were taken off the table and 2 glasses of water were plonked down. we were never asked if we wanted a drink.i was very upset over this and i will not be returning to the hotel in the future.

comments We arrived on Fri Nov 2nd and were very well treated on our arrival and throughout our stay. My only complaint is,as a former hotel receptionist myself, I found it amazing that when my husband enquired on Saturday morning as to the best way to get to Waterford Crystal he was directed to the Tourist Info office on the quay as the receptionist did not know the way and neither did the barman on duty at that time!! Apart from this the week end was fine. (We asked a postman we met while out walking for directions)

comments The entrance lacks a little colour.Perhaps flower containers might brighten up the area.The garage requires more control.It appears that non hotel users are parking there?Perhaps some soft music as a background would give the foyer some ambience as the area is small and bland.

comments the bedrooms were very comfortable and spacious. Food was fine, but the restaurant didn't have a great ambience. The hotel carparking facilities are inadequate, and the hotel's location close to busy roads within the city makes it difficult to access by car. The location though is great for walking within the city in the evening. Overall we were very happy with our stay in the Fitzwilton, and the region around Waterford has lots to offer for a city break.

comments Would not rate this as a 4 star hotel as the service was the worst I have ever witnessed. Would also have expected more facilities than a small bar and one small restaurant not large enough to cater for breakfast. We were not the only people there that felt this way and many people showed there dissatisfaction over the breakfast situation. This is a shame as the Fitzwilton is a well presented hotel.

comments Very nice contemporary hotel in the centre of Waterford City. The rooms were very modern and clean and the food in the restaurant was excellent. The only drawback was the noise of the traffic as the hotel is located on a very busy road. If staying again I would request a room in the back of the hotel.

No Parking available at hotel.Public parking available 10 mnutes walk at ?5 every entry.Of 3 receptionists, only one seemed to actually connect with customers. One other seemed happy to emphasise that there were no vacancies when enquiring about extended stay.

comments Food fantastic in Bar and restaurant, but breakfast I feel there should be low fat butter and low fat milk available, also no fresh fruit. Staff did not seat you on arrival and you had to ask for Tea or coffee. Room was lovely but service of room was not great. Did not like the bar seating lighting etc, too open & no entertainment in hotel. Overall we enjoyed our break but went to another hotel each evening for entertainment. Would not be inclined to stay again.

comments The food in the hotel was great and the staff were very friendly. However, the heat in the bedrooms was unbearable and the one we were assigned was a bit cramped. We did open the window but there was drilling at 7 a.m. the next morning. It is a city centre hotel so do not expect peace and quiet!

comments The Fitzwilton is a good quality hotel in a central location -although the traffic outside makes crossing the road a bit difficult! The design features in the rooms are excellent - particularly liked the flat screen tv and the sink in the bathroom is exceptionally cool. Its a very pleasant place to stay, very good value and the staff are friendly. If you use vodafone there is no reception in the hotel for some bizarre reason - other that that I really enjoyed it.

comments The room was not properly cleaned. Down beside the beds looked as if they hadn;t been hoovered in 6 months. There was dust on the base of the table in the room. The cleaner did not clean fully when doing up the room. I had spilled coffee granules on the counter by accident and they were ignored. Perhaps some low fat butter and yoghurts would be nice at breakfast time. On both morning, no eggs were left out at 8 am. There seemed to be a lot of staff but things not done on time. The staff courteous, the hotel is modern and bright. Location is ecellent. Would have been much more impressed if we didn;t have the problems I mentioned above. That would make the difference between a low 4 star and a really good 4 star

comments Everything was very good, high standard rooms throughout! However the tissues in the bathroom appeared to be serviettes and were very rough on the nose!! Recommend proper tissues! Also, our towels and soaps were fully replaced for the 2nd night which was above expectation and I'm sure increased washing for the hotel.

comments The Hotel was gorgeous. Good sized room, modern bar and nice breakfast. There isn't that many things to do in waterford though!

comments Firstly, the car park was full when we arrived, we were advised to park at the Quays car park and were also advised this would cost ?5, so evertime we left that car park it would cost ?5! An offer to pay for the inconvenience wasn't offered! Also, the bar had very limited staff. Restaurant staff were very nice and the food was excellent, however i wouldn't return due to the parking facilities, we were not even advised of this before our arrival.

comments we were extermely upset and embarressed on our second evening in the hotel. We had a discount voucher and paid almost 200 euro on top of that for our 2 night stay with dinner included. On the saturday night we went for dinner and were informed by the waiter that we were not entitled to just dinner as we were on a voucher and starters etc would be extra. There were other customers next to us and we where very upset at how we were treated. We proceeded to order starters, though as my partner is diabetic didn't have dessert. At the end of the meal the lady in charge on the night came to us and apologised for how we were treated and informed us that in fact we were entitled to a full dinner all included and offered us dessert at this stage. The hotel itself was really nice but this incident tainted our stay.

comments The room was lovely and a very generous size. If you want a parking space go early. Parking spaces in the hotel car park is very limited. You can park along the side street beside the hotel. The biggest disappointment was the restaurant. It seemed to be very understaffed. You were not seated but grabbed a seat that was available and then had to get your breakfast one at a time in case you lost your seat. To order coffee you had to hope you could get one of the staffs attention. Bread, hot food etc ran out continously and it was up to the guests to advise the staff that they had run out. The restaurant in the evening had no atmosphere. No candles on the table, flowers .. nothing to add a little something to the restaurant. Again it seemed understaffed in the evening. Food quality was not great. The rooms is definitely where they get my marks.

comments Stayed for a weekend at the Fitzwilton in Waterford. Could not find fault with it. A secure carpark is provided free of charge which is a bonus these days. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous. We had a double room which was spacious and spotlessly clean. I would have no problem reccomending this lovely hotel.

comments We were very impressed with the hotel and the staff. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were a nice size and well decorated. The restaurant was really nice and we ate there on both nights. I was very pleased to find out that breakfast was served until 11.00 in the morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

comments We found that the hotels could not possibly have been rated as a 4 star because of the standard of the rooms and the staff certainly were not trained to that standard. On arrival there was no heat on in our room which we mentioned to reception.. There was no information in the room as to what phone nos. to reception, housekeeping etc. no information whatsoever. There were no handtowels which were requested. We mentioned about the heating again on our journey to the bar which was absolutely filthy tables/floor etc. On return to our room no heat which we had to go back to reception because nobody answered the phone. We were then changed to another room and felt like we had been complaining from when we arrived and mind you the evening was very wet and cold.

comments We requested hand towels on 3 occassions and never got them, We also reported a leak in our bathroom on 4 occasions before a bathmat was brought to the room (at 1am) to mop the floor. We had to send our dinner back as it was definitely the worst meal we ever received and not what was ordered.
