comments An excellent stay with superb staff on hand to help with any need. The food was just impeccable. The accomodation was immaculate. As a family, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone. The breakfast room is perfect for a relaxed and calming start to the day and the staff were thoroughly delightful. Weather was poor at times when we were there but there was always people about in the lobby and we felt comfortable reading the generous variety of newspapers.Never met the housekeeping staff but our room was freshened up every day to a high standard.

comments My family and I stayed at the sligo park for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it.The family room was very clean,and the breakfasts were excellent as always.The staff were all pleasant and while there we enjoyed a massage which was very good value for money.If I one small complaint it would be that the rooms need a small fridge especially with children to keep milk etc fresh but I have found that to be the same with most hotels.

comments From the moment we entered the hotel all of the staff helped us in every way possible. Because of my wife having to use a crutch by reason of the fact she had recent surgery we were given a room near the reception and dining room. This was greatly appreciated. The room we had was very clean and our water and apple on arrival was greatly appreciated. All the staff were very friendly and gave great service and the food was both plentiful and of very high quality. The bar service service was also excellent. The whole experience was excellent and I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone

comments We had 2 very enjoyable nights in the family room which was spacious modern and clean. The pool was a big hit - again very well maintained. But perhaps best of all were the staff - at reception, the bar and the pool who had a personal word for everyone and went out of their way to please. Excellent value and very will recommended.

comments We visit this hotel once or twice every year for a week. As ever, the service was excellent and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. We have a three year old daughter and so spend a lot of time actually in the hotel, whether in the pool or lounge/bar areas and we were always made to feel very welcome, with a fuss always being made of our daughter. A very relaxing enjoyable stay.

comments The standard of the hotel was very good and our room had excellent facilities, flat screen TV, tea and coffee, water, biscuits, ironing etc, and was very clean and tidy. Staff were pleasant, courteous and attentive at all times. Food in the restaurant was average but quite acceptable. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and would definitely stay again when in the Sligo area.

comments On arrival in our room, we were a little disappointed. The room was very basic, although clean. A valence sheet over the base of the bed would have made all the difference, it made the room look shabby. The picture on the internet gave an impression of trees and parkland outside the window, we were greeted with the carpark, roof and tennis courts. Other than that it was fine. The food overall was good. On the first night I had a burger which I thought was excellent. My partner had the spinach and ricotta pasta which was absolutely disgusting. This is a dish I frequently make myself at home, and it was obvious this was from a packet. The filling resembled pieces of dog food, it was definitely no better than a €1.50 packet from Tesco. I was very tempted to ask to speak to the chef, its a disgrace that any hotel would serve that to a guest. There was NO spinach or ricotta inside, but how could there be, it was factory made. Lose it from the menu, or make it fresh. Its not hard. Breakfast the following morning was excellent, poached eggs to perfection, the slice of toast underneath them to soak any excess water was appreciated. Asked for a large jug of milk and two glasses, was no problem. 10/10. Had set dinner the following night. Partner had tartlet which was average. I had the "smoked chicken salad" which arrived with no chicken. Asked the waitress to return it, it came back with processed chicken slices chopped up on top. Again, disgusting. Pure laziness on the chefs part as we were the last to dine I imagine. Both ordered steak, which was excellent. Although it arrived covered in chopped mushrooms, maybe I misread the menu, but both of us detest mushrooms so Im confident I would have noticed this. But not to worry, steak was good and cooked well. Dessert - baileys cheesecake - no baileys taste at all, but still lovely. Wine - had a bottle of the bergerac - nice wine, reasonably priced, appreciated it had an appellation - although the sediment at the end of the bottle was more than Id ever seen, it was thick in the bottle and the bottom of the final glass. Breakfast on the second morning was very poor - well, the eggs in particular were. Very hard poached eggs, just cooked for 10 minutes, and served. They were solid. So only ate the rest, which was dissapointing. Service - I have to say the service was excellent. The receptionists couldnt be more helpful and polite, the room service was fantastic, the chamber maid was uber polite and courteous, the barman was friendly and although the spanish waiter had a small problem with understanding everything we said, it reminded me of faulty towers Manuel, and gave me a smile, but above all, he was very friendly and when pouring our wine didnt fill the glass as found in most places. 10/10 for all of your staff. I doubt any of the bad points will be published, understandable, maybe just consider them. Some valence sheets on the bed bases, get rid of the packet pasta, and consistency in breakfast. 3 points to consider. Will I be back ? If the above points never happened, then definitely, but for now, I think I might try somewhere else before returning.

comments I would like to thank the staff (Jenny, Peter, Helen and many more) who made my 3 night stay in the Sligo Park very enjoyable. I had an evening meal both nights with my partner and carvery on Sunday afternoon and I can't fault anything. The breakfast was also very nice and the staff were very attentive. We had one complaint and that was small children running up and down the corridor between 9pm and 12 midnight. The night porter came up to the children on the two occasions we phoned and took the children downstairs to join their parents. The staff in the Leisure Centre were also very helpful and the porters who helped arrange taxis for an early train on Monday morning. The hotel was clean and comfortable and every need was attended too. I will be returning in the future and would recommend your hotel to my friends. Sandra Behan

comments I was very annoyed when a member of staff followed me across the resturant in order to tell me breakfast was not included in my booking when it WAS included. Resturant was closed at night (Tues & Wed) and bar food menu rather limited. Otherwise nothing outstandingly good or bad.

comments Had a lovely stay at this hotel. We were travelling, just for a night out, away from home with friends. Our rooms were spotless and well appointed and excellent value for money. The lady at check in was fantastic, very friendly and could not have been more helpful. Food was great the next morning for breakfast, and all in all would love to re-visit, and in the future we will. The only drawback, even though it is a very small drawback, was that there was not really any chance of getting a late drink from the bar upon our return from Sligo town. The night staff were not altogether inclined to look after us, so we just headed to our rooms. Other than that, we could not have been happier. Thank you.

comments The exterior of the hotel was poor, however we were pleasantly satasfied by the high standards which was carried through the inside. Steam Room was not seated very well with plastic garden chairs being used. The menu in the bar was not very appetising. Althiugh what we did order was nice, the selection was very poor. On the night which we were visiting there seemed to be a party, resulting in not enough staff, they seemed to be all working behind the bar and none collecting plates. The rooms which we stayed in were of a very high standard.. and were very well equiped.

comments Accommodation was good and comfortable and I received a good evening meal on the day I arrived. Through no fault of the hotel I missed breakfast. I Asked for a reduction and found the staff to be unhelpful and abrupt. They indicated that because it was an online booking that a reduction was not possible. If that is the case I do not understand why the online facility is there. The online facility is convenient but is clearly remote from the hotel and there is also a fee. I was not happy with this arrangement. I am not sure if I would stay in the hotel again. I certainly will not be making a reservation online again.

comments When entering a so called 4 star hotel the first thing I noticed was the grubby reception area. The couches looked as if they had white paint on them, and had not been cleaned off properly. The tables next to the couches were tatty, with strips of veneer broken off. The bedrooms were clean and well equiped. The staff were polite and friendly and the breakfast served was good. The hotel is not a luxury hotel, more of a travelling salesman overnight hotel.

comments Thought hotel was great value at e40 per night. Staff were very helpful and rooms were of a very high standard. One negative point was that the bar menu didnt have a good selection for coeliacs. Overall hotel was top notch and my girlfriend and i would definitely visit again.

comments I am a regular visitor to Sligo in connection with my work. I always enjoy staying at the Sligo Park Hotel because the staff are friendly, helpful and (importantly) they remember me from the last visit. The rooms are comfortable, quiet and everything works! The food is good and the buffet breakfast is a good start to the working day. The leisure centre, especially the swimming pool, is an added bonus and a great way to refresh before sleep. I have been staying at the Sligo Park since the 1980s and I like its consistent good value.

The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful when we rang and did cancel our booking but said that if the weather did quickly improve before the date we were due to stay that we could re-book at the same price. We still had to pay our £10 deposit however with the short notice that we had to give and the pleasant way in which we were treated I would certainly book again with this hotel.

comments i think a really nice idea would be to have breakfast later. most people going to a wedding or overnight like to have a lie in. i appreciate the logistics of this but I think a late breakfast would make peoples stay fab. your staff were lovely, and we were at a wedding and the lady waiting on our table was excellent. well done to everyone for a lovely day/night. missed breakfast..........too late going to bed!!!!!!

comments We had a lovely weekend. The staff were very friendly,the receptionist,bar men,waiters,housekeeping and especially our waitress, Frances, in the dining room. The food in the dining room on Friday night was lovely.It was a snowy weekend and the hotel was well heated.We ate in Sligo on Saturday afternoon but had bar food on Saturday night which was lovely.Great for relaxing in the large foyer and people watching!I would highly recommend this hotel for a weekend away.

comments The heating in the room wasn't working - it was an ice box. There were marks on the furniture from where someone had left their hair straightener on and it had scorched the surface. The tiles and grouting around the base of the bath were brown and looked dirty. All in all a very tired, cold and dated room. However, the breakfast was nice

comments We stayed here on an over 55's mid week break. The cost was 120 euros each for 3 nights dinner, bed and breakfast which was a bargain. I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. We had a problem on arrival as the phone in our room did not work but we were moved to another room with the minimum of fuss. Our room was largeand clean and we had a lovely view of the mountains from the full length windows (if you looked down it was a tennis court but if you lifted your eyes the view was spectactular!) Bathroom was good with a sensible layout and plenty of shelf space.The food in the restaurant was delicious.with no restrictions on what you could order from the dinner menu. Brekfast was good too. All staff were a credit to the hotel especially in the restaurant. We loved the location of the hotel. It's a pleasant stroll through a residential district into town and a slightly more arduous walk back as it's uphill but we managed it and we're no youngsters! And the jacuzzi was good for tired muscles! We will be back to the Sligo Park and would definitely recommend it.

comments To Whom it concerns I was very dissapointed with our stay at the sligo park hotel.I actually got married in the sligo park hotel 14 years ago so it was a treat to take our family there to show my children where we got married.The first night we were woken with shouting,dooors banging and people talking in the hall.The second night was worse with shouting an the hallway and someone woke us all up at 2.30am in the morning by ringing our room and looking for a girl called clare.I reported this to the desk only to be told "oh yes this had being reported tp the porter the night before by someone else " and that was that.At breakfast time the first morning we had to wait nearly 20 mins for breakfast and everyone was tripping over each other and it was very dangerous.We have stayed in many hotels and recently stayed at the brefy woods hotel who were very busy but were very organised.We were very dissapointed with our stay and I would not recommend it to anyone and infact my husbands cousin asked me about the hotel but i advised her to stay somewhere else.The staff were very friendly and helpfull but perhaps there was not enough staff on. comments THe staff were all very friendly and helpful, but the shower curtains in the room were brown stained around the bottom. In the female wetchanging there were two showers without any curtains and the ones that had curtains were dirty and hanging of the track over all the pool changing was not very clean nor was there any shower gel or shampoo supplied. The rooms were clean but it was difficult to regulate the heat, the food was overall good, the waiting staff were pleasant nad all requests were granted, Frances was excellent.

comments radiator in our room constantly. Same in the rooms on either side (we booked 3 rooms in total) had to buy ear plugs for my second nights stay so I could get a bit of sleep. Said it to reception but they weren't very helpful. Also, the corridor door outside our room was very noisy every time it was opened. EAR PLUGS are a must in this hotel.

comments Hi All, We stayed at the hotel for two nights and were very impressed by the friendly helpful staff and we were made to feel very welcome. My daughter forgot her favourite teddy bear and when I rang the hotel to see if it was there the receptionist was very understanding and very helpful she phoned me back within 10 mins to say it was there and that she would post it to me. I received it on tues much to my daughters delight! So all in all it was a pleasure to stay there and good to know in these tough economic times that good manners and good service is still a top priority in this hotel! We'll definitely return!

The restaurant was really nice,plenty of choice at the breakfast buffet and the dinner was very well presented and plentiful. It was my wife's birthday and after dinner one of the staff brought a large slice of cake with candles, wished her a happy birthday and then the manager came over and gave us a complimentary drink. I thought this was a really nice touch and commend the hotel because these are the little things that can mean a lot to guests.

The receptionist immediately offered me something from the snack menu for my room which arrived within 10 minutes of me checking in. The leisure complex was great with our boys wanting to spend most of the time in the pool. The resturant and Bar had a good range of menu's with the price of alcohol very reasonable. comments It has been a long time since I stayed at the Sligo Park. From the moment we arrived we greeted with a smile & welcome. The room had a great view overlooking Sligo town & countryside. A benefit that really should receive more advertising. We were looked after so well - top marks to the night porter who helped us with some late food. From this experience it is obvious that the whole staff played a part in the hotel earning a 4th star. Keep it up!

comments Great to have free internet access, very comfortable bed (I loved the quilt) lots of food, hot and cold, at the breakfast buffet, and pleasant, helpful staff. I always enjoy the bar food at Sligo Park Hotel, whenever I have dinner there. Didn't have time to use the Leisure Centre this time, but enjoyed it very much on a previous visit with my daughter.

comments We stayed on the third floor, it seems to have been renovated recently and was a joy to walk through. The room was spacious and warm. Bathroom and usual amenities were perfect. Check in/out was smooth and painless, we spoilt ourselves one morning and ordered breakfast in the room. The staff were prompt, polite and in no way intrusive. The food was lovely too. All in all a great stay.

comments Clean, modern and well run hotel with very good facilities, well located just off the N4 approach into Sligo with lots of activities, restaurants close by. Had a very good experience, even though it was very busy (always a good sign), 2 young kids well catered for as they had excellent staff in the hotel, leisure centre and restaurant that were truly child friendly. All areas clean and well kept, beds and room cleaned while we were at breakfast, fast service and good food at breakfast and in the bar/restaurant. I would highly recommend this hotel to people who want value and good service in a very good overall package. Top marks Sligo Park, we'll definitely stay there again when next in the North West.

comments My two children and I had a lovely time when we stayed in a spacious, quiet, clean room. My children felt comfortable during our stay and never felt in the way. The food met all tastes including my children. The staff were helpful, pleasant and attentive at all times. Even going the extra mile and recognising us out of context. Would definitely go again. In fact when we moved on to our next Hotel in Dublin we wished we were back at Sligo Park

And when I had to leave unexpectdly early because of family circumstance the reception staff dealt with this in a very efficient manner and were extremely helpful. comments very satisfied with our saty and the reception we recived, would highly recommend the hotel, they went out of thire way to make sure we had a good time, the only negative point i would have is at dinner time both in the rstaurant and lobby i found they took a lomg time to clear the plates one of the evenings i cleared our 4 sets of plates and brought them to the room behind the bar, other than that the say was excepyional the babysitter thety arrabnged was first class and able to handle my son when he woke keeping him calm until she reached us and we got home.

comments We had actually cancelled our reservation one day before our expected arrival as the B&B we had also booked confirmed that they were expecting us. To our dismay, the B&B owner was not around when we arrived in SLigo and we went back to SLigo Park Hotel, explained what had happened, and even tho they had three busloads of guests arriving that night, they found us rooms for 9 people at almost the same rate as had been originally quoted and were so very helpful in getting us settled, fed and relaxed! The rooms and facilities were wonderful.

comments This hotel is a good 3 star hotel that I believe should look at refurbishing the existing building and along with the leisure centre and large site with room for expansion should make a drive for 4 star status.
