Staff very friendly and helpful and service was quick. Accommodation fine, room was of a good size. Beds comfortable. Chairs in room could do to be re-upholstered. Breakfast was good. Swimming pool and showers were good, however the sauna wasn't working which was unfortunate (would be nice in January to have this facility). Changing area in pool requires attention to ensure there are no gaps in the partitions. Would definity stay again.

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay. our room had a fantastic view of the loch. The room was confortable, clean & tidy. The bar was well stocked & the draught beer was perfect. We would have used the restaurant if traditional meals were on the menu. We made good use of the liesure facilities a nice way to warm up & relax after a hard days walking

From our arrival at the hotel to the time of our reluctant departure, we were highly impressed with every aspect of our stay. The staff were so obliging and friendly. We asked to extend our stay, and even though the hotel was extremely busy, the reception staff worked hard to accomadate us. Following this my father was taken ill and we had to leave unexpectedly. Once again the staff were there to help and made everthing easy for us. We cannot praise the service we recieved enough, and the fantastic value for money. We cant wait to return.

From someone who travels every week for work, the hotel staff are as friendly and helpful as they come. The room (312) was very good although we could hear every footstep taken by the family in the room above. The sauna was never hot and listening to the members this was a problem already known by the management.

The bedroom was extremely spacious and very well kept, cleaned every day we stayed there and all the little extras such as tea, coffee and biscuits were replenished every day as well. View from the third floor facing the loch was spectacular, the breakfast each morning was excellent and all the staff we spoke to where well informed and helpful, overall me and my wife would recommend this hotel to anyone any day of the week.

We have been coming to the Isles of Glencoe since it opened 20 years ago. this was our 9th visit and as usual we really enjoyed it,particularly the excellant food and very friendly and helpful staff. We are glad to see some refurbishment and decorating taking place, as it had become a little tired on our more recent visits.Would like to see a real on sale in the bar.

The Hotel and surroundings are beautiful ans we had a pleasant stay however, we were only there for one night and the fire alarm went off twice and although we got a double room as requested it was two single beds pushed together, most uncomfortable. When this was mentioned to the receptionist she simply said ' we will not do this the next time you stay'.
|
|
|
| Hotel Response:
Many thanks for your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I apologise that the fire alarms activated twice during your stay. I believe that there was a fault with one of the callpoints, which has now been rectified. I am sorry that you felt that the zip link bed was not comfortable for you. We have a number of rooms throughout the Hotel with zip link beds in them. I hope that you would choose to stay with us again. To ensure that you are allocated a double bed, please do advise my team on booking that this would be your preference.

Staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendlier. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definetly be back again.
Would have liked it if bar snacks or bar meals had been available at night instead of the set 3 course meal, I couldn't manage a 3 course meal and there was nothing on that menu that I liked

We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful big bedroom with a loch view, and stunning scenery all around. We were lucky ith the weather. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, as was the wine (reasonably priced too). The spa facilities were good and not too busy, however. we had hoped the jacuzzi would been much warmer than the normal swimming pool temperature.
The staff were very helpful, friendly and attentive! Will definetly return again for a weekend!

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Only negative comments are that our shower ran very hot and then cold every time we used it and we were disappointed the jacuzzi was part of the pool and not separate. We enjoy a hot jacuzzi. Overall very nice and we enjoyed our honeymoon.

We had a loch view room with absolutely stunning views up the loch through beautiful and unusual sloping windows. Room was very comfortable, extremely clean and of a very good size. Hotel has excellent facilities and friendly welcoming staff. Breakfast at the hotel was first class but we felt the evening meal could have been enhanced with more choice rather than a fixed menu and price structure for 2 or 3 courses which we thought was on the expensive side. Otherwise an excellent visit and we will be back.

Staff were very efficient and friendly.
Breakfast delivered to our room was first rate. Ten out of ten.
Hotel was clean but unbelievably shabby.
Condition of furniture in the restaurant stopped us in our tracks.
Although the bathroom was clean and well appointed, our room was tatty and very expensive. Not worth even half the price we paid.
The roof in the corridor outside our room had been leaking for long enough to make the carpets smell strongly of sour water.
The operators have relied for too long on the location itself to give value.
Felt utterly conned.
Very, very disappointed.

I first stayed with you in 2000 and have seen a couple of new owners along the way. It may be a sign of the times but you seem to be running on a shoe string as to how it first was originally. F OtGlen
You are charging top dollar for very basic rooms now. the white bedding is very cheap looking and my room 336 which i have always stayed in looked sad and unwelcoming.
The food offering was very poor to what i was expecting and the room guides are still the same as they were 11 years ago only you dont insert the evening meal offerings as was the case
maybe you are too embarrased at the lack of quality offerings.
Bus trips, weddings easy money, easly pleased punters a sad inditement for what is a magnificent hotel with a magnificent location. I dare say my comments will not make a jot of difference but give me a call to discuss further. The management meeting i witnessed at breakfast was typical of visiting higher company employee/ area manager doing his weekly milk round and a trip around the hotel just to tick boxes, give me a break. Making the poor hotel manager squirm with his coffee in full view and ear shot of me and others very poor just give the hotel manager more money to invest in the hotel yes the decor was ok for 10 + years and the decorator was on site.
Food offering pathetic
Breakfast wanting
Room so sad
Value for money, I will shop around because you are over the top for value. Bet you dont publish this one!!

I booked this hotel as I was taking my dog.It was excellent - the room had french windows opening out onto a wonderful view of the loch and provided easy access to the grounds outside. The room was spotless and the staff friendly and efficient. We booked 2 nights b&b on the advance booking option, so this was great value - we had our evening meal at the hotel both evenings as the food was delicious - and that view from the restaurant was spectacular. I certainly hope to stay again sometime.

The Hotel is in a lovely setting being right beside Loch Leven. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were large, well appointed and exceptionally clean, the view over the Loch from our room was stunning. The breakfasts were buffet style; there was no shortage of food, even if you came down towards the end. I would definitely stay here again.

Have enjoyed being a guest at the hotel on many occasions over the past few years and have really enjoyed ourselves. Location and surrouning scenery is fabulous but regretfully have to say that that soft furnishings and decor within bedrooms, lobby and lounge areas have become rather shabby and in need of refurbishment.

A thoroughly enjoyable 2 days! Room was nice & clean and had a great view of the Loch. Hotel pool & sauna were put to good use and the water sports centre next door is well worth a visit too.
Only downside would have to be the food, the restaurant menu selection wasn't great. Room service was prompt but portions were small and somewhat expensive for what we got.

Hi, we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We found the staff lovely. They were very friendly and accommodating. However we thought our room was a little tired. We have no complaints about staff or bedroom, the staff were as before very professional and welcoming. the bedroom was also fine. What we did notice was that the dining area especially the dining chairs in the conservatory style room are looking very grubby and jaded and could do with replacing. this has not put us off booking again but spoils the ambience of the hotel.

The hotel has beautiful views and great staff, thats where the compliments end as it needs an internal overhaul. The fixtures/fittings are torn, out dated, worn out and generally dirty or even broken. Its expensive for what it is and does not warrent a 3 star rating.

Many thanks for your feedback Mr Bell. I am disappointed that you felt that your meal was not to your liking. You indicated that you felt that children were not welcome, and I would be interested to know why you feel this way as we cater for children on a very regular basis and most recently throughout the Easter holidays with over 40 children staying in the Hotel each night. We have an outdoor play area for them along with an indoor kids den and a children's menu available throughout the day and night. Guess you will be aware of the 'flaws' in this place ..... looking a bit tardy - especially the bathroom, but lors of areas that were in need of some t.l.c..
Walking upstairs to room 335 reminded me of being in a squalid $30 American motel.
The restaurant staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and efficient, but
the 'Mrs Doubtfire-like' lady on reception was overly off putting, curt & - well, not welcoming in any way shape or form. Two others commented similar as we walked away after 2 counter 'encounters.'
Doubt we will return.
Thanks to Mr McLennon & the other restaurant staff.

Alan Blakeman

| Hotel Response:
Many thanks for your comments and feedback Mr Blakeman. I am disappointed that you did not feel that the Hotel was what you were looking for. We do have an ongoing maintenance, painting and decorating programme in place and my managers are aware that there are areas within the Hotel that need to have spend in them. With regards to the Receptionist you encountered, I sincerely apologise for their behaviour and will be taking this matter up with them when they return to work. I would like to try and restore your faith back to the Isles and would ask if you could contact me direct on 01855 812220 or e-mail me on gm.glencoe@akkeronhotels.com, so that we could discuss your stay further.I look forward to hearing from you.Kind regardsTracyTracy MackintoshGeneral Manager

We had stayed at hotel on a previous occasion 3/4 years ago.
The location is second to none.
The reception we received on this occasion was from a somewhat 'frosty receptionist', who did nit acknowledge our presence for some time.
The hotels finishes have become very jaded, e.g the carpets & doors are showing considerable signs of ware.
The fixed price dinner menu at a discounted rate of £20 sterling is poor on choice & the quality was very mediocre.
The breakfast was marginaaly better.
The Conservatory needs blinds fitting as the temperatures in there can be excessive.
Notice should be given to guests that due consideration should be given to others when retiring to bed in the early hours, there was considerable noise from other rooms adjacent to ours.
Please do not consider these comments to be negative, they are given in the hope that this hotel, which could be exceptional, can be improved in various ways.

| Hotel Response:
Many thanks for your feedback Mr Clay. I have taken your comments on board and can advise you that we do have an ongoing maintenance, painting and decorating programme in place. We are unfortunately limited as to how much of a change we can make on a yearly basis as we depend on capital being available to us from the Hotel owner, to then be able to make the decision on how best to ensure that the money to spent as wisely and to the best use possible. I hope that you will not be deterred from returning to the Isles again in the future.
Kind regards

Due to the fabulous location of this hotel I feel there is minimal effort in other areas. Items were missed off our breakfast request, customer service was poor particularly the girl who appeared to be in charge of the bar. We found her to be rude and impolite. General waiter service was slow, due mainly to the staff being very young and understaffed. The fantastic location saved thus from being a very disappointing stay.

Overall stay was satisfactory, however I have the following comments.
When you first enter the hotel it is like entering a leisure center due to the location of the swimming pool and viewing area. It was a bit odd thatyou had to book to use the exercise room. The sauna didn't get very hot.
Breakfast didn't start 7:30 which is a bit late if you need to make an early get-away.We arrived at 7:27 on the last morning and the waitress got in a flap and told us we were too early and they weren't ready yet.
The tiles in the bathroom were a bit mouldy.

As is noted on the comment card we left, there were a number of areas of our stay in which we were dissatisfied. Most notably, the dated decor (unrecogniseable compared to the website), the set menu at the restaurant and the lack of towels for the pool area

As it was nine years since our last stay at Isles of Glencoe, we had our expectations before arriving as we had always enjoyed our stays there in the past. This visit, the staff were most helpful and the waitresses most attentive as was reception, the Hotel itself , the views aside, seemed a little "tired" , nothing a lick of paint here and there would solve. Our biggest "gripe" so to speak was our pre-booked Table d'hote dinner. It seemed very basic given the cost, we remember the meals to be outstanding and original from previous visits. Also, we dined in the conservatory and there was an unsightly worn through to threadbare patch in the carpet alongside our table, not a pretty sight for visitors paying top prices for the Hotel! That said, our Breakfast was as expected and a good choice of food and cereals etc. The coffee was decidedly cold though. All in all, we did enjoy our stay apart from the Dinner, the shower was good, the bed comfortable (with more pillows please). We didn't use the leisure facilities so cannot comment. We are in fact re-booked in July and bringing with us friends who have never visited this part of the world and we were really hoping their visit would be memorable, Hotel stay included, apart from the gorgeous setting. I hope you take this as positive feedback and not complaints. Just putting our view forward, but it does appear to be four star prices for a lesser grade surroundings.

Swimming pool area could be cleaner. Some poor finishings in our bathroom. In general, a good 3 star hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, clean beds, good powerful shower with plentiful hot water. Room would have benefited from a good airing as it smelled musky on our arrival. Great views from our third floor room.

A lovely family friendly hotel at my favourite location in Scotland....The room was nice, the view was exceptional, the staff were helpful and the food was good. To make matters even better there was lots of snow on Glencoe and Ben Nevis, albeit the battle against the 60mph winds on the mountain tops, was brutal! Ah well you cant get it all!!

This is our 4th visit to the Isle of Glencoe hotel in the last 10 years. Beautiful setting and really enjoyed our stay as always. We really enjoyed the Top Deck room with great views across the Loch. The dinner on Saturday night was lovely and the only down side is the leisure facilities are a little small and tired. We also love popping into the village to visit the pub! Overall a very nice stay indeed. Thanks

Wonderful location with fantastic views. Food was very good although perhaps served a little too fast, though some might not complain about that. Rooms were extremely comfortable a nd kept warm which was extremely welcome at the time of our visit. The decor is a bit tired and with a little effort could make the place look a bit more modern and give it a wow factor. Staff were extremely friendly. One thing that did suprise me was the layout of the chairs in the lounge. They were all laid out with none facing others which made everyone keep to themselves. They did not encourage conversation as you would have had to shout across. This privacy may suit some people but in our opinion it made the place look unfriendly as everyone tended to sit on their own and not make conversation. All in all a fantastic situated hotel in the heart of the Scottish highlands, but with just a few tweaks it could be a leader.

Room nice and big, very clean but smelt a bit damp. Food in restaurant tasted lovely and staff attentive until we had desert, nobody came near us after that so we didn't get our included tea or coffee, the restaurant was empty at this point, we were also sat next to the lounge area and there was a quiz going on for other guests and felt we didn't really get to enjoy our quiet meal and conversation together as well. We couldn't find anyone to sort out
our bill which we thought was a little overpriced and quite often there was nobody around at the reception or bar to order drinks. Just small things that didn't ruin our stay but would put me off maybe staying again.

The evening meal was awful. Obviously cooked the day before and re-heated. Had rotten (black) potatoes, lumps of fat in my steak pie and rock hard veg. We had a 3 course meal in under 40 mins....couldn't of been fresh! Our hotel room was thick with dust, so bad I had to go and buy anti-histamines as I have a 'mild' dust allergy. The bed was uncomfortable, very hard mattress. The views and Breakfast were the best thing really, very good and plenty of choice. We never used the pool, so cannot comment. I would be tempted to return with my family to see if this was just a 'one off' as many people love this hotel. Perhaps we were unlucky on this occasion?

Had a lovely stay the hotel - gorgeous view from the room and staff friendly and helpful. The only comment I have was that the evening meal was rushed - we sat down at 7.15pm and were back in our room at 8pm after having 3 courses! We noticed there were 2 couples who sat after us and left before us also having had the 3 courses, so it wasn't just our table. The food was satifactory, just felt the service although prompt, could have been a little more relaxed to prevent the indigestion! I work in a hotel myself and have never had to deal with service that was too fast so understand this may be a little strange!
Overall great stay - shower head cleaned when asked so no issues.
Hoping to make this an annual trip as my boyfriend proposed whilst we were staying there - we'll definately be back!!

Beautiful views, nice clean well-appointed rooms. Loved the bunk beds for the kids in their own little area - meant we could read or watch TV while they were asleep without disturbing them.
Pool is small but very pleasant.
Menu choice at dinner was quite limited - I'd like to see more local foods and a wider choice.
Selection wasn't great for anyone with dietary issues - one of us has Coeliac disease and needs to eat gluten-free food. GF bread was provided which is great but unfortunately one of the dishes contained hidden gluten which caused the inevitable unpleasant coeliac reaction.
Apart from that, a great value stay in a very pleasant hotel. Staff are all very friendly & helpful too. We'll be back.

My Girlfriend & I booked on line & drove for 2.5hours to find a cracking venue in the middle of a small town of the main road, the staff presented the venue with confidence & pride from welcome to offering where to sit for breakfast through to the main course, food servings were excellent as the staff were, only suggestion I would bring is the lounging area lighting for evening sips of drinks ~ a bit of a change would bring this hotel in to the best in the area, soften the feel for your guests at night by reducing/changing the evening lighting. Great stuff. thanks. G Ritchie

The hotel was clean and tidy and the location great. There were a few complaints we had with our stay though. First of all we had booked through the hotel's own website for two nights to include a free starter each with each main mean and a bottle of sparkling wine in the room. When we arrived there was no wine. We had to request this (which then came very quickly thereafter). On checking out and paying our bill the starters were also not deducted from our bill. These two things were very frustrating when this is a deal advertised by the hotel itself. Secondly I had upgraded (at cost) to have a room with a view of the loch. On entering the hotel it was evident that most of the rooms did indeed have a view of the loch as the hotel was lochside. However, our room was on the wrong side of the hotel and overlooked the car park and children's play area, with only a glimpse of the loch through the trees. This was very disappointing especially given the increased cost. The meal was also not very good at all. The food came very quickly after ordering and the whole experience was over in under an hour. It clearly wasn't made to order. the food was bland and unexciting. The fish was full of bones and tasteless. We didn't eat in the restaurant on the second night. The breakfasts were lovely and the views from the restaurant during the day were great.

| Hotel Response:
Dear Mrs Walker
Many thanks for your feedback regarding your stay with us on the 14th January for 2 nights. I am sorry that not everything was to your satisfaction and apologise for the shortcomings that you experienced. Having checked your correspondence, I am unfortunately not sure why you did not receive the wine in your room for arrival as our guest list clearly states that there was wine to go into your room. This may have been missed by the Restaurant team and I apologise for this. We recognise that until a couple of weeks ago, not all of the deductions processed through our Restaurant system were being carried over to the Front of House system, hence why your starters were not taken from the bill. This has now been rectified, though I do understand your frustration at this. I sincerely apologise that you did not receive a loch view room as you had specified and have taken this matter up with my Reception team as this should have been seen and noted at the time of allocating the rooms. I am also disappointed that you did not enjoy your meal as the feedback in general is very favourable and especially so since the beginning of the year. Can I ask if you spoke to the Food and Beverage Manager at any time during your meal as he would have been able to help to make your meal more enjoyable.
By way of an apology, I would like to invite you back to the Isles on a preferential rate. Please do contact me direct on 01855 812220 or e-mail me at gm.glencoe@akkeronhotels.com so that I can check availability for you. I will send also a letter out in the post to you, just in case you do not receive my response via this method.

The most stunning thing about the isle of Glencoe hotel is the view, we had a wonderful time at the hotel and found the staff welcoming and friendly, the breakfast was lovely and offered alot of variants, if I was to offer some improvement points for the hotel I would suggest updating the quality of the bathrooms and also to make sure the cleanliness of the pool area was kept to a higher standard! I would most certainly recommend staying at the hotel to anyone travelling to Glencoe.

All aspects of our stay were excellent. I made a group booking for a special occasion and only one of the group had visited the hotel before and they were very impressed by the facilities and the service. The staff helped organise the birthday cake and even decorated it for us as it had got a little bashed on our journey!

overall we had a nice time and may consider coming back. One thing spolied it for us though.. It was my husbands birthday and I had arranged to have sparkling wine in our room on arrival - this wasnt there and I had to chase it up, spoiling the effect. also as my husband is disabled and suffers from acute cramps and restless leg syndrome, I had specfically requested twin beds (I phoned and spoke to Audrey whilsy booking online). When we arrived we had a double bed and bunk beds, my husband didn't want to make a fuss and we put up with it - that meant I had a difficult night sleeping in the bottom bunk. That wasn't great and not what we had wanted. You might want to have a thnk about how you honour special requests in future?
Otherwise we had a fine time..

We are a Family of 4 from Glasgow who enjoyed our stay in November,we arrived at the hotel in the dark at 8 at night hoping for some bar food but they dont do it.when we woke in the morning and opened the curtains we had a fantastic view.Breakfast was good with lots of choice for us all.we used the pool both days and had great fun.our biggest problem with the hotel is the room above didnt seem to have carpets and the people in the room liked to walk back and forth across the room for most of the night.Overall we had a nice time and the price was very good with the use of the pool included. i would recommend the hotel and we will be back at some time soon.

Its a warm and comfortable way to see the heart of the Highlands in winter, waking up to a beautiful view of Loch Leven and the Pap of Glencoe. Just a short drive from the Ice Factor at Kinlochleven and some of the best hill walking in the west of Scotland. A sauna and a swim are just what you need after a day in the hills. Hearty food too!

Gorgeous setting, and very friendly and lovely staff!
However the accommodation was not what I was expecting. The hotel walls were extremely thin so the conversation of our neighbours kept us awake, unfortunately. The food was unimaginative and tasted like it was made in bulk. The bathrooms felt dirty and were not very nicely decorated. I think this had more to do wtih my expectations than the actual hotel - somehow from the website I had thought the hotel would have a feeling of luxury about it, but I felt more like I was staying in a hostel. I am sure this would be great for a family walking holiday - warm and welcoming. But it was not suitable for what I had booked it for - a romantic weekend away for my husband's 30th.
I think if your walls could be better insulated, if the bathrooms could be touched up, and if someone paid a bit more attention to the food, that would go a long way! Thank you.

| Hotel Response:
Many thanks for your feedback regarding your recent stay. I am sorry if you felt that it was not what you had expected and that you did not enjoy your meal with us. General feedback is very favourable regarding the food here at the Hotel so I am disappointed that you did not bring this to our attention. We are a family orientated Hotel and we do market ourselves as this, though many people do come away for a romantic stay and enjoy the relaxation and informality of the Hotel. I would be delighted if you would consider staying again, however, I feel that our sister Hotel may be more suited to what you are looking for in the way of a romantic setting and mainly catering for couples.

Evening meal was very poor, the starter arrived 1 minute after we ordered it, the main meal then arrived within 2 minutes of finishing the starter, food was obviously not freshly cooked and this was reflected in the standard, not worth £22.50 per head.
Accomodation was good.

As a frequent visitor to Glencoe and having stayed at the isles of Glencoe many times before, I was reasonably satisfied with the overall stay. My bedroom was fine but friends who were tavelling with us had a room where the heater kept going off and they couldn't get the bath taps to work. that said, we did not complain as we felt that you had upgraded us to a lochside room without charge. The evening meal was well cooked and presented but please consider some form of extra waiting staff training. The main problem stems from the fact that some of them are of East European origin (and there is nothing wrong with that) but, the two staff we had at dinner and breakfast did not smile nor could they fully understand what we were saying, which is irritating when you are waiting for a 'large glass of Cabernet Sauvignon' to go with your meal and you have to repeat it over and over again and then wait ages for it to come. How you get round this is up to management and the company but the fact remains that this does not make for good customer relations. This is my only negative criticism but one which might make me think twice about visiting the hotel again. A cold, unfriendly expression on a waiter's face is not very welcoming.

Good hotel for the price. Double room a bit small - very small double bed. Disabled facilities great - especially in the disabled bedroom.
Dinner menu was good but the Bistro menu although advertised to finish at 5.30pm actually stopped serving at 5pm which was annoying. Had a poor meal from the Bistro menu. Fish definitely wasn't fresh - very dry. To be fair, when we mentioned it, the waiter took one of the meals off the bill.
Breakfast good - atmosphere good. Great pool for the kids.
Some problems with leaks resulting in musty smell in the corridors.

While we did enjoy our stay, there were minor niggles that may have retracted from it had we been easily annoyed. There could be better cleaning standards in the showers (curtains) and the used coffe cups were not cleaned for our second day. It would be nice to have a towel service for the swimming pool - instead of having to take your bath towel from the room.
We arrived late and there was no food available - a selection of sandwiches or other snacks from the bar would be good for such circumstances.
Staff were friendly and polite for the most part. The food was excellent and the restaurant service was very good. We forgot to book for dinner and they were very gracious in giving us a table despite being extremely busy. The after dinner coffee could improve, though.
The rooms were spacious and the views were outstanding. The place has so much potential to be outstanding - a few improvements would do it.
We would definately go back again.

Hotel is in idyllic location. Staff are friendly and helpful. Although dining room has lovely view over loch, breakfast was not great because self-service, cold and quality of food not very good. We stayed in a family room on significantly reduced room rate. In terms of value for money, great, but if we had paid standard regular rate would have been extremely dissapointed.

I arrived at the hotel late he greeting was friendly and booking in was handled efficiently. My room (105) had a spectacular view but I was not impressed by the state of the carpet which could badly do with replacing. My bed was also slightly damp which I suspect is down to the french doors letting in the moisture laden air. Service in the bar and retaurant was friendly and efficient although I was shown to a table which had obviosly had water spilt on the table cloth with no attempt to replace . Food was as I expected and of a standard fit for this type of establishment although I had the table furthest from the buffet in the morning and found this a little inconvenient.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, rooms were clean and generally comfortable. The furnishing were somewhat worn, chairs could have done with a clean. Compared to other hotels we have stayed in in Scotland in the last year the electrical equipment TV, Hairdryer were dated, hairdryer especially almost powerless. The room took a while to heat up and the corridors were cold in the evening, thinking about tourism and the opportunities people have to buy Scottish produce to take home a fridge in the room would have been convenient.
Now the good bits, all of the staff we were in contact with were very friendly and very helpful, the restaurant was good, took us a while to work out the breakfast rooms, some hot food in one room, porridge in another? Food was good, leisure facilities v good. View spectacular, weather Scottish.
Hope these comments are constructive, given the opportunity we would come back. Thanks to all

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel, I've stayed at this hotel a few times over the years and always find the staff extremely freindly and helpful.
I had an enjoyable stay if there was a negative to my stay it would be that the bathroom in the room needs updating, it looked tired and outdated.
The carpet and the sofas in the lounge area could also be doing with being updated, but the staff as always make the stay enjoyable.

I stayed here 7 years ago and looked forward to me recnt visit. However I found the hotel to be a little tired looking and in need of refurbishment. The quality of the rooms, and in particular the bathrooms are not up to the standard comensurate with the prices that are charged. The pool area is dingy and dark looking. So much more could be done to improve this area. Your charging 5 star prices for what is barely 3 star facilities

A bit disappointed. Great location and view. However
1. The decor was looking dated and generally abit run down, carpets ripped/stained, shoddy paint work after a repaint.
2. Evening Meal for the money £22/each was pretty basic and disppointing. Breakfast was greasy, could only see foreigners working in the kitchen and serving.
3. I paid my room by Visa and an additional seperate charge of £215 came out of my account being paid to the hotel, I queried this and eventually the hotel found it was a mistake but it did take 4 days for the money to go back into my account. Apart from an apology I think there could have been at least a bottle of champagne on the table for me coming in, but nothing. If I hadn't have checked my statement somone else would have got a free holiday. Very Very disppointed!
Probably wouldn't recommend this hotel, sorry

Extremely enjoyable stay. Excellent large room with loch view. Good varied menu and food to a very high standard. Staff conducted themselves in a very professional yet friendly manner. No negativity at all regarding my visit. Would recommend this hotel to family and friends and would definitely visit again.

We had a great stay at the Isles of Glencoe Hotel, we had a standard room which was big enough for 2 adults and enough room for a travel cot for our 14 month old with plenty of room to spare. The pool was good and warm enough for our daughter, good food and service that wasn't over baring. We had a nice relaxing stay.

Room smelled of dampness. (Room 1:14)
Food overpriced and of average quality. No justification for the food supplements because of the quality issues.
Clear that some staff, although very pleasant, need proper training in even the basics of food service (e.g.why do you get a soup spoon for dessert). No one seems to be supervising which should be the case. I suggest that you invest in some proper hotel & catering courses for your staff. The kitchen needs particular focus.
You are charging 5 star prices for a 3 star hotel.
Of course, you will probably just ignore these comments but I hope that you act upon them.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel, staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful, the room was gorgeous, with a lovely Loch view. An excellent base for travelling around Scotland, lovely to return to after a hard day's sightseeing! Food in the resturant was excellent and the service was too, couldn't have asked for more. I have stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels and been very disappointed, but not here , 3star rating with 5 star service!!
The only downside for us was..................we had to go home!!!!

The service at dinner was poor. The waiter didnt understand our order and only brought us one meal between the two of us. The bill was completely wrong for dinner which we had to point out because you hadnt charged us properly. The food was not very good. My portion was very small as the waiter had obviously not understood the order the first time round which meant I had to wait about an hour for my meal. The room was noisy and on the ground floor. We could hear people going up and down the corridoor when I had asked for a quiet room in the booking. The changing areas in the pool do not provide privacy. I dont understand the payment system at all. We had to make 2 credit card transactions instead of doing it all on the one bill. We had to do a pre-authrisation of a certain amount and then a separate transaction for the remainder. This makes no business sense as it costs you money. Apart from the waiter who struggled to understand, the staff were all very nice but as a hotel overall, I thought it was poor and wouldnt stay again. I would have made comments on the card in the room but you hadnt supplied a pen.

Overall we had a lovely stay, the hotel has a beautiful setting with superb views both from the rooms and the dining areas. We enjoyed the swimming pool and sauna, (but don’t go on Thursday afternoon when the childrens lessons are on!
Unfortunately although the service was good the food left a lot to be desired . To go to a Scottish hotel and not be offered fish for breakfast, ie kippers, smoked haddock , scrambled egg and smoked salmon etc. Having asked if fish was available there was a look of astonishment on the chefs face “Fish?” he asked. We only had one evening meal in the hotel and again this did not live up to the standard we would expect of such a lovely place

Very nice kept hotel with nice rooms and a great location. Food quality very high and extremely nice atmosphere in the lounge and dinner area. Thank you for a lovely stay. Only comment for improvement: The staff in the restaurant is somewhat too "stressed" about who sits where and who serves who and a bit of confusion and stressful atmosphere is the result - they are all lovely people - all they need to do is relax a bit more about where people sit e.g.. Thank you - will be happy to come again.

Our stay at the Isles of Glencoe was a very relaxing experience. The quality of the room was very good and the view unbeatable. Very friendly helpful staff. I only have one moan, this was that the bar menu finished at 5.30! When in Scotland there is so much to see and this generally involves quire a bit of touring around, so you do tend to find such lovely places to lunch or take in afternoon tea. It was not so pleasant to return to the hotel and find out the only food available was a two or three course meal in the restaurant, however reasonably priced it was. We were forced to go to the very nice local pub for a bar snack or the local Co-op for nibbles.

I stayed at your hotel in the 90's with my family, we loved the hotel & always went on about returning.
On finally returning we were greeted with a freindly smile at reception, everything seemed good.
Sadly on entering our room we were greeted with a "musty" smell, I went to open the window, the frames are thick of mould, the curtains are an absolute disgrace, the dirt, spills etc were so bad I have taken pictures and intend to pursue this issue with you, letter to be sent shortly. Secondly, the carpet was not hoovered around our table, I had bits of food, hair stuck on my socks, very poor. The main point that I will make about the room, the core to any guests stay, the comfort of a bed. The bed in room 204 was clearly past it, you lift the sheets and see the indents of a person on each side, sleeping on it was even worse, the springs are straight at you when you lie down, again pictures take & will be sent to you.
Breakfast in the morning was sadly no better, a lack of plates, cutlery dirty, crumbs on the table and chair.
On a plus side the pool facilities were as good as I remembered them and did put a better light on things, briefly.
I will make it very clear I'm not someone who complains normally, this however really sadned me, how clearly neglected the hotel has become.
I drove nearly 10 hours for my first night of my holiday to be greeted with a hotel that I would sadly say is no better than a Travelodge, and for the money paid I'm left feeling very disappointed.
I sincerley hope you take note of the comments as these are key areas you need to address to make the guests experience a 5+, word of mouth and reviews are so key to your industry.
I will follow up this with the letter and photos I wtook on my stay to back this up.
Thanks and I would appreciate any feedback from yourselves.

Beautiful location - stunning views. Great having a playpark for kids. Hotel room good size but needed some TLC to touch up paint work etc. Breakfast was super. Evening meal was too expensive, especially the steak pie which was a very small portion for the price paid - some of the kids portions were bigger! Internet access only worked in the lobby and not our room. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay but would not reconsider it as a family longer stay option due to the cost.

We received a very friendly welcome at reception and the service was brilliant all the way through to check-out - which was very early (6am) - and the night porter helped us to get a continental breakfast before departure as the kitchens weren't open for cooking the hot stuff. The whole experience was made all the better with the outstanding views from our bedroom window. We'll be back for more!

Beautiful location, the hotel however seems dated, although some areas seem to have been redecorated the colour scheme is very 1980's, in the stair ways pink walls and green carpet, the bedroom had shabby chairs but a lovely comfy bed. Had a meal in the restaurant which was ok, but very rushed as soon as we had finished the starter the main course was out in a matter of minutes and then we we asked to move to have a coffee in another area, not very relaxed and overpriced for what we had and how long we were eating for probably 30 minutes. Staff were very friendly.

I spent a night last week at the Isles of Glencoe. It has been at least ten years since I last stayed there. It was a great place to go when the family were young. I very much enjoyed my latest stay: the room was big, the bed was big and comfortable. The views were fantastic - the views are, arguably, the hotels greatest asset. I would not hesitate to recommend the place to even my most picky friends. Both dinner and breakfast were good but the distance between the tables and the buffet which is in two additional rooms was a bit disconcerting but I shouldn't grumble about the opportunity for additional exercise, in our health conscious age. The decor and fabric of the hotel is attractive but is beginning to age in places. The floor covering in my bathroom was completely worn away in one spot with the floor underneath exposed. The carpet in my room, although clean, had one or two old stain marks. These are quibbles which are hugely outweighed by all that is good, particularly the helpfulness and friendliness of staff who are all very natural and straightforward in their manner.

Having stayed at the Isles many time, this was a disappointing experience. The hotel pool area is badly in need of upgrade, many lockers do not have locks and the general appearance of the changing area is poor. The main meal was also disappointing compared to previous visits, definitely seemed like cost-cutting. The supplement for a sirloin steak was unjustified. We were so disappointed that we choose to eat elsewhere on our second night.

Food was great as usual and I was very impressed with the price of the winter saver. The only downturn is the rooms look a bit tired decor wise and could be doing with a freshen up but in saying that the beds are really comfy.

We felt during our stay the staff could not have done more for us nothing was too much trouble any time of the day. They were prepared to go above and beyond their duties to ensure our comfort without being intrusive or overbearing. The rooms were spotless and comfortable and the setting was nothing short of spectacular. We visited as a family and would book again as a family and also as a couple for a restful break. We have recommended the hotel to all friends and family. The only downside to our stay was leaving!!!!

We had a very good stay at the Isle Of Glencoe hotel. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. Absolutely stunning views down the loch with the mountains on each side. Great value for money and we look forward to going back there again.

The view from our room was outstanding. It was a little difficult dragging cases up so may stairs and through halls however. The staff were most polite especailly in the morning. However the night staff appeared not to know how to use the coffee machine or make the fire.
We would definitely stay at the hotel again as we love the area, thanks

very friendly staff, nothing was too much bother for them! breakfast was amazing, as was dinner. The only complaint I have is that the sauna was not working and the pool was cold, but this was not of great importance to our stay! wonderful views from the room too :)

The staff were all excellent - very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was substantial but there was no maple syrup for the pancakes as you used to provide. Also, unfortunately, the sauna was not working and there was a problem with the showers in the leisure area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt that it was good value for money (wintersaver) but feel that some money needs to be spent on the infrastructure to maintain the attraction of the hotel.

Beautiful beautiful place, excellent service, would go back in a heartbeat - staff friendly and helpful, great location (take car), only negative is that the hotel was a little cold but all heating was on full so I can understand.
Go! It's Great.

Could have done better. Dissapointed with New Year programme looked good on paper but could have done better with events to have improved occasion. Sparkling wine and choclates in room poor. Hotel and pool good, menu started good but New Years Day selection was poor. Hotel location fantastic, views stupendous.

We had a great stay at the Isles of Glencoe Hotel, which is a great base for skiers wanting to use the glencoe or nevis ranges. Room was spacious with amazing views over the loch and mountains. Nice food in the restaurant and the heated pool and jacuzzi were a good bonus. Will definitley be using the hotel again. Only negative points were the conservatory/restaurant area was cold when having our evening meal and there was no fridge in the room for my beers! But otherwise a great stay.

The food and accommodation were superb with all the staff being very pleasant. The only problem during our stay was that the sauna was out of commission for the full time as well as the swimming pool for part of the stay which was one of the reasons we chose the hotel. This however never spoiled our view of the hotel.
