At the north end of the Crinan Canal, connecting Loch Fyne to the Atlantic Ocean, is a tiny picturesque fishing village of Crinan with its population of just under 80 inhabitants.
For over 200 years the centre of this little community has been the Crinan Hotel. Today the Crinan Hotel is an international meeting point for Hebridean sailors, fishermen, yachtsman, holiday maker and above all lovers of seafood and the best of Scottish produce.
Jura, Scarba and the mountains of Mull, can all be seen from our Westward Restaurant which looks out across Loch Crinan. In mid-summer the sun can be seen setting over the Corryvreckan, the second largest whirlpool in the western hemisphere located between Scarba and Jura. Lots of yachts sail daily out to the west from Crinan. Some having come through the Crinan Canal from Ardrishaig and the Clyde.
