we have stayed in your hotel twice (if you count the first time with the break of one day, trice) and every time you make us feel so welcome and comfortable, I can and will recommend your hotel to any of my friends and acquaintances. It is so convenient, just cross the road and you’re in the city, with all its beauty and lovely people. We will come again!

In all my years of travel through Europe, never before has my family been treated with such courtesy and respect as we were at the Hotel Rector during Christmas week, 2010. Simply put, the staff was friendly, attentive and completely accommodating. They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. It is a beautiful, cozy hotel (with delicious breakfasts), but th people are its real strength. We recommend Hotel Rector highly.

The hotel is excellent in every respect, but it is a great shame that there are no facilities to even obtain a simple meal in the evenings.We were tired after a long day's driving, so even the relatively short walk into the old centre of Salamanca was not overly welcome.
Tapas at the Rector would have been perfect!

This boutique hotel is one of the hidden gems of Spain and our favourite stop off point when travelling to and from the Algarve. Management and staff are charming and extremely helpful and the accommodation is elegantly presented. Highly recommended.

Hotel Rector exceded my expectations. The room and bathroom were spacious and immaculate. The bed very comfortable. The service was excellent. Delicious breakfasts cooked to order. This is a small and discrete
hotel. I highly recommend this hotel. I was traveling with our 13 year-old son visiting our daughter who is stuying in Salamanca. The hotel made our time in Salamanca perfect on every level.

The rooms and baths are very clean, bright, and pleasant. The staff and front desk were exceptional--helpful, courteous, warm. The bar and breakfast room were very enjoyable features. The location is close to sights and restaurants. If we are again in the Salamanca area we will certainly stay at the Rector.

I would recommend without reservation. It was comfortable, welcoming and with wow factor. Javier at reception sold this hotel made you feel totally at home and ensured that this hotel became fabulous.

The Hotel Rector was the nicest hotel in which we stayed on our recent visit to northern Spain. Unfortunately, we only spent one night in Salamanca. However, my husband and I both appreciated all the touches, both large and small, that came with our stay -- from the restaurant advice we received at the front desk to the lovely little hand towel bar placed just beneath the bowl of our bathroom sinks. We hope to return again and again.

We received a very warm welcome after a long drive. The staff were polite and most helpful and spoke excellent English. Our room was comfortable in the extreme - especially the beds with wonderful crisp cotton sheets; the bathroom was large and had everything we needed including very nice toiletries. We both enjoyed a great night's sleep in peaceful surroundings.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious; plenty of choice, lovely fresh food, served in a beautiful room - well worth booking. If we have any criticism it is that they don't serve dinner!
The hotel is very well situated for exploring Salamanca and here the reception staff proved invaluable supplying a map and marking the key things to see in the short time we had available. We have already looked up the possibilities of a return visit as we would love to go back to explore the city further and we would definitely stay at Hotel Rector. I highly recommend it.

A superb hotel. This beautiful building, situated on a busy street in Salamanca, is like an oasis of calm when you step through the doors. What makes it so special is the way you are looked after by the staff. Everyone, from the cleaning lady to the breakfast waitress and the reception staff are unfailingly gracious and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone. Our stay in Salamanca was greatly enhanced by our stay here.

I stopped at Hotel Rector whilst driving from England to Lisbon with my partner and 3 children. It was the first time any of us had been to Salamanca.
We were all very impressed with the warmth and helpfulness of the welcome at the Hotel both on arrival and indeed throughout the stay. It felt like nothing was a problem and all requests were dealt with in a calm efficient way. I believe one of the signs of a great hotel is when you are made to feel welcome and all the little things are done well and they certainly were here - everything from a map and helpful guidance on child friendly restaurants in the city through to opening the bar to make a very good gin & tonic at 1am.
The rooms, common areas and breakfast were all excellent.
we would definitely stay at the Rector next time we are in Salamanca

As if the ambiance and accommodations of Hotel Rector weren't enough to brag about, the staff was the icing on the cake! We loved the quaintness of the Hotel as well as the convenience of its location, but the staff truly make this place a cut above the rest. We were there for 2 nights and only saw 2 staff members the entire time of our visit--as if they were always there, waiting to be helpful and kind. One note, when making a reservation at the Hotel Rector, it is a MUST to also reserve parking. The garage is below the hotel itself and they have less than 8 spots available. It is a tight fit but they will be happy to park for you. There is an extra charge to park, but it is a must.

This hotel is elegant, comfortable, and well-located, but what really sets it apart is the service, which is absolutely outstanding in every way. Rooms are spacious and bathrooms are palatial by European standards. The location (just outside the city walls, a 5 minute walk to the plaza mayor) is ideal. Soundproofing is outstanding--the rooms are very quiet. The staff could not be more helpful or accomodating, and give outstanding advice about restaurants and sights. Plus, they make the best cup of tea in Spain in their beautiful little bar! Most highly recommended.

My wife and I visit Salamanca regularly and stayed for the first time at the Hotel Rector a few weeks ago. We found the hotel at the last minute as we were looking for somewhere closer to the historic centre than wher we usually stay. The hotel is lovely, it is perfectly located and all the staff were very welcoming and hospitable - we will definitely be back.

My family stayed included my grandmother who was 79 years old and the most satisfied. Staffs are so kind and the room was completely silence and any noise is recognized. Breakfast was in rich variety and they cook eggs as you like.

Many hotels are in surprisingly wonderful cities and in beautifully restored buildings. Others are good values. Some have great breakfasts. The Rector is all of these simultaneously. But the real treasure comes with the most efficient, nicest and attentive staff we have ever seen at any hotel in Europe or North America Congratulations to the Rector for superb service without fail.

What struck me about Hotel Rector was the attention paid to beauty and serenity: the flowers, art books, wonderful breakfast, and quiet attractive, spacious and airy rooms.
