I am pleased that you felt the staff, especially Valerie, were trying hard and doing their best to please. Yes we are hoping to re-furbish some bathrooms this winter as we acknowledge that they are rather tired and dated by modern standards. Your comments regarding the food are very interesting. We do try to source high quality local ingredients as much as possible. I do take on board the fact you believe the food to be over complicated and accordingly I have already shown your review to my Head Chef. I have to say that your opinion is highly valued especially as we are always striving to improve what we do to please our guests. Naturally the menus will change for our re-opening next March and this will be an ideal opportunity to re-evaluate our food offering. POST NOTE: Dear Effie, Since posting my reply to your review recently, I am pleased to say that I have spoken to the Head Chef and the service team, and we have amended our standard at breakfast to two rashers of back bacon and de-caffeinated tea is now also available.I have also corrected the issue with insufficient tea bags in the pot. The standard is 'one tea bag per person and one for the pot' which is the good old fashioned way of remembering the standard. A pot of hot water should also be served along with the tea pot.
