Absolutely delightful stay for 2 nights and the staff were very polite and eager to help with any requests. The food was some of the best I've had at any hotel, and I've stayed at many around the world.
Very popular for weddings, so it might be a good idea to check ahead to see if you will be sharing your stay with wedding-goers.

We were married on the grounds of the Station House in August 2010, using the sunken circle which was formerly the carriage turntable as the ceremony space. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and everything was dealt with calmly and with the utmost professionality. We recently returned for a meal and overnight stay and we were upgraded to the plush wedding suite which was just wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel. The grounds and outdoor space are beautiful aswell as usable and the hotel has an intimate and timeless feel.

We stayed for one night (Saturday night). First impressions were the hotel was nice and quant. We got our room and were very disappointed. It was tiny. The bedding was dirty, and there was a dirty pillow case still on the bed from the prior guests. We had food in the restaurant and it was amazing- I wouldnt fault it at all fabulous-- but then you do pay top money for it also. (No recesssion prices here). When we went to bed we realised our room was right beside the Reception/ Bar and could hear people leaving the hotel at all hours of the night. Had a terrible nights sleep. Rooms are also not sound proof at all. I could also hear somebody snoring in the room next to us which was hidious. Overall would recommend the restaurant but not the rooms.

This hotel seems to specialise in weddings - there was one on the night we stayed, although we were not troubled at all.
Accomodation in the barn - rooms generously furnished and very clean, but was small and only had a small window in the ceiling, made it feel claustrophobic. Overall decor a bit over the top. Staff excellent.
Food excellent, but we could not get breakfast until 8.40 and we had a plane to catch.

The location is great, being away from the hustle and bustle of the city and we had a very relaxing time. The staff were very attentive and nothing was any bother. The food was excellent - couldn't fault it. Thanks for a great time, will certainly be back again.

On arrival at hotel we were very impressed with the overall surroundings, beautiful setting, the hotel itself was spotless & on arrival we met with the most helpfull I think manageress who spent as much time as was needed to accomodate us into rooms (eg near each other as there was four of us) Rooms were on the small side but spotless & had en-suite, tea making facilities ect, I would recommend this hotel for a romantic stay, we had my brothers wedding here & it was beautiful as they had the blessing in the hotels grounds & of course the beautiful weather we had on that day 22nd April helped make it so, Yes I would go back & will very shortly with my husband (who could not make wedding due to work) for romantic break. Enjoy all who goes there you will be garanteed professional, friendly service & also if you have diet needs as I am COELIAC they will cater for all which I find great, food for wedding was exceptional for me, so thank you for making my stay with you a real pleasure. I had my wedding at the Station House it was everything I hoped for and more. The staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. The grounds were the perfect place to have the ceremony and the whole day was beautivul from start to finish. Thanks to all the staff for making my day so special.
