We arrived in dreadfull weather conditions, it was snowing with sub zero temperatures. The receptionist was most helpfull and made us feel at home. Our pre booking was located and within minutes were in our room which was spacious, tidy and warm with everything in place. We made our way to the restaurant where we got seated on arrival and we were presented with a wonderful menu. The food was excellent and well prepared and the service was second to none. Our breakfasts (Full Irish) were wholesome and a complete full selection of cerials, hot foods tea/coffee was available and again service was prompt and courteous.
Our weekend stay could not have been better and despite the artic weather conditions the courteous and warmeth welcome by all the staff plus the location of the hotel itself ensures that both my husband and I will return in 2011. Best wishes to all and thanks to all.

I found the staff to be friendly and courteous, in particular Walter in the bar, who deserves special commendation. The room was comfartable and the food excellent. The location of the hotel is beautiful, overlooking a lake making the ambiance of the hotel's location most serene. This is certainly a hotel worth returning to.

We enjoyed everything very much. The main restaurant was good and we loved our room with the balcony. The view from the hotel was lovely. The receptionist was helpful and friendly. Our only complaint was with the service in the bar. We would stay here again.

Scenery second to none, very friendly staff and lovely room.
The only thing I would say is that the kitchen needs to pay more attention to the way things are described on the menu and the way they arrive on the table! For example, the "traditional apple pie served warm with ice cream" arrived naked and cold, the "chocolate gateau served with cream" had no cream, the chicken wings with blue cheese dipping sauce had no blue cheese dipping sauce, and the ciabatta with smoked salmon and melted brie had no smoked salmon!

Hotel was to a good standard, rooms were lovely and very clean. Great views and restaurant was nice too. Staff couldve been friendlier , I expected them to be more welcomong as its quite remote. And I felt 3 o clock check in was a bit late too. Overall though I would recommend it.

Wasn't expecting such great views. Staff was really helpful and friendly and i don't remember tasting duck that nice at dinner time. The stay was apresent for my Friends birthday and she really enjoyed herself . Have recommended the hotel to my friends already.

The Hotel was very clean and tidy with helpful staff.The staff were really friendly and helpful.
The Breakfast Buffet was very nice with a wide selection to suit every one.Excellent hotel.

Room was extremely comfortable.All the staff we met were extremely friendly. Dinner was from a fairly basic a la carte menu but was of top quality. Service in the restaurant was particularly good and very friendly. It was a very enjoyable experience and we fully intend to return.

This charming hotel is situated between two beautiful lakes, and the views from the rooms, restaurant and bar are spectacular. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, and the food was fabulous. Definitely going back. It's an ideal centre for touring Mayo and Connemara also. Rooms very large, airy and modern. Highly recommended!

Lovely location, very comfortable, spacious room with a lovely view. Food and service excellent. Will definitely make another visit. It was a very nice quiet weekend away for us. Would like to have had more information about walks locally, no pedestrian access to the lovely surrounding lakes.
