comments Very good hotel. Room was a good size and cleaned everday. All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The food was great. For breakfast each morning you have a wide choice of fresh local produce. In all we had a great 3day stay at the Carlton Atlantic Coast Hotel and would gladly recommend it to anyone thinking of staying in lovely Westport.

comments The rooms were lovely, food at breakfast and in the evening was very good. the staff were courteous and well trained. Only grouse was that heating did not come on until 6pm and the room was cold late afternoon but on reporting it to reception the staff member arranged for it to come on when I spoke to her. I was pleased at this but think that in cold weather it should come on earlier.

comments It was so relaxed, we booked for 3 days over New Year and it felt like we'd been there for a week. The staff were excellent- so genuinely friendly, everyone had time to talk.We have stayed in hotels all over the world and this was one of the friendliest. We will definitely be going back for a return visit.

comments We had a really lovely stay in the Carlton Hotel. The staff were very helpful and curtious and the hotel itself was lovely. The food in the restaurant was also very good. The only complaints we had were that on the first night of our 4-night stay, we were in a room where we had no control of the heat coming from the radiator in our room and it was stiffling and also there was noisy demoliton work taking place in The Towers nearby, which was also near our room. The staff moved us to another room where we had neither issue. All-in-all we had a lovely stay.

Highly recommend this hotel from the the courteous reception staff through to the superb standard of food. We will return here on our next visit to Westport

comments I really don't know why this Hotel has four stars. It is really a three star in my opinion. The award winning restaurant was very disappointing, with a really limited menu and lots of extra supplements for the Table d'Hote Menu. Satisfactory but definitely nothing special.

comments Hotel and Staff were great, the only things that went wrong was the fire alarm when off 4 times during the night which i know was not the staffs fault it was some man smoking in his room. We had some elderly people staying on our 3rd floor and the reception did not answer the phone and the people were panicing because they did not want to use the lift incase it was a fire and they could not get an answer on the phone to know what was happening so i just went down the stairs to check for them and myself. And when checking out they infromed me i owed 12.00 for 2 bottles of water from the restaurant but i think people would automatically think the water was free, maybe they should be told. But other wise it was a lovely stay all around

comments We were travelling with our 2 children aged 2 and 3 and had asked for a family room - the room was on the first floor just above a bar area and there was loud live music blaring until after midnight - the location was poorly thought out considering they knew we had young children with us. We used the pools twice - on the second occasion the changing rooms in the pool area were being renovated without any notices up or information provided so we had to strip off in a room with large windows facing the pool and walk back up the corridor to our room dripping wet in our towels. Also the toddler pool only had around one foot of water in it which made it impossible to swim in for the kids. At our meal in the hotel restaurant the food and service was excellent. We asked the waiter to bring the desserts and coffees to our room at the end of the meal as the kids were getting restless and we did not want them to distrurb the other diners - we were charged a service charge for the delivery to our room - we have staye din mant hotels in Ireland and this is the first time we had this charge under the same circumstances. We parked in the hotal car park. One night we decided to go for a drive at 8pm so we tied the kids in to their car seats and when we tried to exit the carpark the gates were locked and we could not leave!! There was no information to guests regarding the time these gates were opened and closed.

comments Hotel is a good 3 star but very basic 4 star. Decor very old fashioned, needs alot of modernising. The Blue Wave restaurant's decor is shabby, but the Food is to die for!!!The Pool area is very old, could do with up-dating and needs a jacuzzi! Overall we had a lovely break, but the decor lets the hotel down in terms of overall standard.

comments Overall a very good hotel. Kids club was great, allowed us to have our evening meal in peace. Rooms clean and comfortable. Restaurant good - if you didn't like anything on the menu, they were prepared to cook something else. There are also some very good places to eat near to the hotel. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Only slight criticism would be the swimming pool and changing area - although clean it needs updating. Did try the spa treatments - would recommend the dry flotation, very relaxing. Would definately go back to this hotel in the future.

Everything else was fantastic, the friendly staff and the amazing breakfast every morning in the beautiful restaurant with the spectacular views of the harbour and Croagh Patrick - that had to be the highlight for me. comments we stayed with kids for mid term for 3 nights and were v happy with service, comfort of rooms and food in the restaurant excellent and v efficient. kids well catered for re menu and kids club great, maybe an extra member of staff for the large amount of kids would have been better. we bought 2 rooms with 02 hotel breaks which included 3 course meal for 2 on one night for both rooms, however 2 members of reception tried to tell me it was only for one room so i was glad i brought a copy of my booking confirmation, it felt a bit like they were trying to "pull a fast one" which i didn't like, and could have done without the confrontation on our family holiday. also the kids pool was cold so we couldn't use it. i would be happy to recommend this hotel though.

comments Lovely location and extremely welcoming and helpful staff. Ideal hotel for family holidays but one reservation regarding the leisure centre. The pool area is in need of re-development. The pool attendant cannot be seen by the users of the pool (this may cause anxiety for parents of younger children) Also, the chlorine level on one of the days was very high and two of our family had a mild skin reaction which lasted for approx three days after use of pool. Overall a perfect location for a short break and we especially found the dining room and bar staff very friendly

comments Was suprised hotel was classified with 4 stars, Dinning and staff excellent, central parking in car park was awfull as when parked and a car parked behind me had to wait for other car to go to be able to get out of space.was told in check in that the voucher was'nt required and on checkout was told quite firmly that the voucher was required, please make your mind up.shower curtain required changing smelled of mill due,bathroom sink badley cracked looking dirty in the cracks.was'nt advised that service was incluided in dinning inclusive.
