comments Me ha gustado mucho el hostal (a mí me tocó el de la puerta 3, creo que el Victoria II). Muy limpio, cambiaban todos los días de toallas y un baño pequeño pero reluciente. Estaba en una zona inmejorable; desde mi balcón veía la plaza de la Puerta del Sol, y como a unos 25 metros estaba el metro. El único pero es que a veces oías ruidos del interior del hostal o del exterior (aunque creo que las puertas de cristal del balcón eran insonorizadas porque desde que cerraba ya era otra cosa). Añadir que tenía un minibar (lo que tenía que dejar alguna tarjeta puesta para que la siguiera enfriando cuando estábamos fuera) y ascensor (para mí indispensable cuando vas cargada con una maleta de 15kg o vienes fatigada de alguna excursión y tienes que subir 4 pisos). Además de unas chicas muy amables trabajando. Vólveré pronto. Muy bien de precio.

comments servicio en los cuartos casi perfecto.Ha faltado limpieza ya que he encontrado un par de madias atràs del refrigerador y una bolsa con ropa interior adentro del closet.La calefaciòn a mometos demaciado alta y a momentos que nos servia no la podiamos prender.Esto porque no tienen los cuartos calefacciòn independiente. El bano es demaciado pequeno y se sale mucha agua de la regadera. No tuvimos caja de seguridad en el cuarto. Aparte esto la relaciòn precio cuarto es buena.

comments Hostales Victoria actually has three hostals in Madrid: two (Victoria I and II) on Calle Carretas (immediately south of the Puerta del Sol) and one (Victoria III) on Carrera San Jerónimo, just a five minute walk east of the Puerta del Sol. I stayed in Hostal II. The main reception is in Victoria I, located on the second floor of the extremely easy to find Carretas 7, and you must check in there. Just a few steps away is Victoria II, which has rooms on both the second and fourth floors. There are elevators in both buildings. Upon my arrival the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Please note that NOBODY speaks English here, period. I have a basic knowledge of Spanish and this was barely enough to get by. It was no problem to check in and get to my room, however, I had a special case because I had a game ticket for the Real Madrid-Barcelona game being delivered to the Hostal the day before. Unfortunately the receptionist had no idea of what I was talking about when I brought up the ticket and it took me hours to explain. He was extremely helpful, told me to come back in a couple hours, and, upon my return he had the ticket: a huge relief. I was staying in a single ensuite room (personal bathroom) for a rate of 45 Euros a night. My room was cleaned thoroughly everyday, with all the towels replaced, toiletries restocked (shampoo, soap, etc.), and bed made. As soon as I left the room it was cleaned. Once I left just for half an hour and when I came back the room had already been cleaned. The rooms are very safe and I felt very secure. Being on the fourth floor of a building makes you feel quite secure. I had no second thoughts when leaving my room. There is a television in the room, which has about fifteen channels (all Spanish). Location was obviously fantastic as it is pretty much IN the Puerta del Sol (one of, if not the most popular area in the cities center). Everything (minus the Santiago Bernabeu) was walking distance and I rarely took the Metro because of this. I would definitely recommend this Hostal and will be returning upon my next visit to Madrid.

comments Es un hostal acogedor. Muy bien situado, justo enfrente de la Puerta del Sol, todo un lujo. Yo es tuve 4 dias con mi mujer y mis dos hijas en una habitación de 4. El trato con el cliente muy correcto. Recomiendo este lugar a todo aquel que quiera pasar unos dias en Madrid a un precio asequible.

comments El hostal está muy bien situado, aparentemente estaba limpio y la gente de allí fue agradable,pero una de las noches nos encontramos una CUCARACHA correteando por la habitación. Al comentárselo a la persona encargada, la única explicación que nos dió fue que podría haber entrado por la ventana, que daba a un patio...En fin, no es excusa a mi entender. Si el edificio es viejo y tiene cucarachas, o se ponen medidas y se fumiga, o no se puede ofrecer un servicio de hospedaje. Otra cosa que nos pasó es que si te duchabas y coincidías con otros clientes del hostal, se acababa el agua caliente. Esto tenía fácil solución: avisabas a la persona encargada en ese momento y te encendía otro calentador, pero claro, eso nos lo dijeron el último día, después de habernos tenido que duchar 3 días con agua fría en pleno enero. Yo tengo que volver a Madrid varias veces este año, pero no voy a repetir en este sitio. Gracias.

comments La verdad es que me daba miedo qué me iba a encontrar al ser un hostal tan céntrico...nunca se sabe. Y la verdad es que era un sitio muy acogedor y sobre todo limpio. Me gustó bastante, de hecho si vuelvo a Madrid probablemente vuelva por aquello de no llevarme sorpresas.

comments Cuando llegamos pensaban que habiamos cancelado la reserva por alguna razon que aun no llego a entender, diciendonos que habiamos llamado por la mañana para ello, cuando no era cierto. Como no habia mas habitaciones triples nos dieron una doble con otra cama y encima nos cobraron lo mismo, y lo que es mas, nos cobraron en el momento de llegar con tarjeta sin que nosotros siquera nos enteraramos. Las habitaciones limpias eso si.

comments Limpio, emplazamiento inigualable. El único problema era que había unas obras en las calle, pero por supuesto, esto no era culpa del hostal. Aparte de esto, eran algo reacios a aceptar tarjetas de crédito. Aún así, la estancia fue muy placentera. Volvería allí.

comments Very clean hostal with an excellent location. My main comment would be that as we were in Hostal 2, and the reception was in Hostal 1 we didn't see any staff apart from the cleaner in the morning. This made our stay a little impersonal. No other complaints however - the rooms were quiet even after a European cup football match!!

comments I really liked the room I had, and the central location was great. The only slight concern I had was that the main door to the building that my room was in was open all night, although there was a security buzzer to get into the hostel 'corridor' itself.

comments The hostel is smack right in the city center! Very comfortable and not pricey at all. Only complaint (and not with the facility) is you can hear all the nosie throughout the day and night (Spaniards in Madrid are all party-animals!!!) Otherwise, best benag for your buck.

comments Correctísimo, muy buena relación calidad-precio. Ubicación inmejorable. Solo una pega: el sistema de tarjetas para abrir las puertas es un poco rollo, no siempre funciona a la primera, y alguna vez hemos tenido que ir a pedir ayuda, hay que tener mucho cuidado con no acercarlos a los móviles porque se desimantan. Muy recomendable, a pesar de este inconveniente.

comments Nicely refurbished rooms but hostal is in 2 adjacent buildings with reception in only one of the buildings so anyone can press the door buzzer and wander around the other building as there is no security.

Stayed three different occasions and some rooms had better features than others, one had no refrigerator. No troubles with services otherwise and good service despite lack of english skills.

comments The best part about this hostal was that its location! It was located right in the Puerta del Sol, near all my favourite shops. It was a good 20 minute walk to the Museo del Prado, there was a metro 'sol' a few feet ahead of the street, El Corte Inglés was located right across the street. There were some cute cafes and restaurants close by as well. There are two Hostal Victoria (I and II) and you have to get your key from Victoria I. The room was perfect size for me. A/C, clean bathroom, clean sheets, TV, desk, phone. The only thing I didn't like was that the walls were a little thing. I could hear snoring next door! Madrid is a great city and I definately recommend staying at the Hostal Victoria. It's more like staying at a hotel/home (:
