comments estuve satisfecha en el alojamiento, perfecto aseo, silencioso por dentro, la asesoría para tomar el recorrido turístico me sirvió mucho, la ubicación del hostal está bien aunque hay qué tener precaución con algunas calles del vecindario, de todas formas queda muy bien ubicado y no tuve ningún problema, en caso de tener qué volver a Madrid solicitaría cupo allí

comments This hostel was slightly cheaper than others I've stayed in Madrid, but we were very pleasantly surprised. Our rooms were spacious and far more pleasant than the micro-rooms I took for granted before. The hostal is on a busy street but I asked for a room on to the courtyard and it was very quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful and there were elder family members helping out which helps to make a good atmosphere. Given the central position too I would say that this hostal really was a lucky find and if all you need is somewhere to sleep between busy tourism this is about as good as it gets in this price bracket. But book early to get a courtyard room.

comments Location is really great - all historical places, museums - maximum 15 min by walking. Easy to find - 3 min from metro station Grand Via, enter from the main street. Service is nice. Quite place, clean rooms. Walls are bit thin but as usual at hostels. Left my laggage after check out time without any issues. Thanks a lot for pleasant stay!

comments The place is located in a great location with easy access to the metro. It provides the basics for your stay (bed, full shower, a room safe). Just make sure you brush up on your Spanish for being able to communicate with the hosts. The owner of the place was a little edgy, but if you're not easily hurt or annoyed, you'll be ok. :-)

comments The hostel is very central and conveniently situated in Madrid and my room and bathroom very clean, with good basic facilities. It was also very reasonably priced and the service friendly. The rooms were mostly quiet, although the sound does carry somewhat and I was kept awake on my second night by a child crying in the room next door. Very pleased overall though. Good value.

comments The room was slightly noisy but clean and pleasent, with plenty of storage room. The bathroom was seperate but also clean, and I didn't really notice anybody else in the hotel. The only down points are that the shower was very low pressure and had nowhere to hook the shower to, so you had to hold the shower whilst showering. The room did smell slightly of smoke but after 10 minutes with the window open, the smell had gone. The location was perfect, although another negative point was that you had to be "let in" by the portero after 11pm and you were never given the key to the hostal, only to your room.

comments Es un hostal muy bien situado y muy limpio. La habitación era muy amplia y el baño también! De las pensiones/hostales en las que me he alojado en Madrid este ha sido el mejor con diferencia. La única pega es que por la noche ( a partir de las 23 h) no te dejan la llave y te tiene que abrir un vigilante, por lo que te da sensación de menos indepencia, pero aún así merece la pena alojarse aquí.

comments El hostal está muy bien situado, el edificio es precioso y la habitación muy limpia y acogedora. Así mismo, te dan mucha libertad de horario y te facilitan la estancia. El único problema es que la habitación en la que estuve daba a la gran Vía y hay bastante ruido de ambulancias etc.

comments It is very clean, freash, cozy, it was quiet (double windows!), there is everything in room exept teapot or cofeemaker, great location - walking distance to almost all main attractions, subway, bus stop, even hip hop bus across the street! comments The hostel is very clean, quitet, the personal is so kind and helpfull. The only tip is to have spanish dictionary, because the personal does not speak english, or their english is very limited...Hoever, they are helping tourist as much as the can..also, TV chanels are on Spanish only:-(..however its a global problem in Spain...90% of the population does not speak english:-) I enjoyed the stay in hotel Spendit and I would visit once again in case I visit Madrid

comments Very good location. The room/furniture looks a bit old but clean. I was staying in a room with window on a courtyard, so it was very quiet as well, but I guess if you get one on the Gran Via side it is different. Overall, good value for the money.

comments Exceptionally clean and cleaned every day. Staff friendly and helpful. Amazing location for transport and shopping, akin to staying around The Strand (and the noise) and popping into Covent Garden everyday, keep walking you'll find it! Two members of family returning two weeks after we left. Aircon works but not brilliant. Need to plan for hot drinks and breakfasts though, good food shop in department store fairly close by.

comments I stayed twelve days, Hostal central and extremely good for the cost of the room. Very clean, towels changed and water always hot. Occasionally some noise from other rooms and staff had very little English. Would use again and recommend its use. Did not ask for payment until day before leaving.

comments Todo bien, está en un muy buen lugar y eso es importante en Madrid, los dueños amables, limpieza perfecta, te cambian de toallas todos los dias y la habitación es acorde al precio.Televisión, agua caliente y calefacción perfecto. Un unico problema, podian poner en el pasillo carteles diciendo SILENCIO, ya que cuando por la noche acude gente hospedada, hablan muy alto y despiertan a los que están descansando. El suelo lo deverían cambiar, es de parqué y hace mucho ruido.

comments The hostal is situated in a very convenient place which is close to the museum area(Prado & Thyssen in 10-15 min of walk) as well as the shopping in Callao and cinemas(walking distance) and Puerta Del Sol. It is close to the metro Gran via metro station.The building and the hostal is safe as there is always a guard at the entrance. I stayed in a single single room with bath. It was clean with fresh towels everyday. It was a bit small but that did not bother me as I did not always stay in the room. There is a TV with local stations. They can provide hair dryer if needed. Generally a quite place but since my room was at the entrance sometimes it can be noisy due to the people but it was tolerable. The room was warm and did not have a heating problem. The room was very reasanble for the price.I hope to return to this hostal if I travel to Madrid again.

comments Excellent location to explore the heart of Madrid. Spotlessly clean, friendly staff and good value for money. Secure entry to and from premises. Because we had a front room, there was traffic noise from the street but it was not a major issue. Transport by Metro to and from the airport is excellent. Even if two two people are travelling together, buy ONE combined Metro/Bus ticket for 6.70 (plus 1 euro supplement each to and from airport). The ticket can be shared and gives 10 trips. The most convenient stop for the hotel is GRAN VIA; just 100 meters from the door! Highly recommended....We'll be back!

comments People running the Hostal Splendid were friendly. It would be useful if you can speak some basic Spanish (ie to advise you have a room booked etc) as sometimes the people on the rota cannot speak any English. Saying that their is someone who can speak English, so if they are on the rota then you will not have any problems. Very clean with fresh towels etc daily. My room size and the en suit was adequate for a short stay. Well positioned in Madrid to reach the centre. I had concerns if a fire was to break out. The 5th floor and only one way out through the main entrance . Their did not appear to be any sprinklers. Also the fact that you can smoke in your room (ashtray) increases the risk. The regulations might well be the same for every hostal so Splendid might be no difference to other hostals . You might want to clarrify this with the hostal before you book

comments A great place to stay for the budget conscious. The rooms are quite large with our own bathroom which had great pressure in the shower, linen and towels - AWESOME! Sometimes you get what you pay for and that´s not always good but this was fantastic. It´s right in the centre of Madrid two minutes walk from the nearest metro. The staff were great, security is super. They shut up at 11pm but they have a doorman on the bottom floor who services each different hotel in the building. Couples or mates, doesn´t matter - stay here!

comments It was a nice cheap place, and the operators were plesant. I stayed in the 30 euro room w/o bath, but the bath down the hall is used only by that room. The street traffic and late night crowd on Gran Via are noisy, but there is a/c and a pull down shutter to deaden the noise. This is not luxury, but it is cheap and centrally located to museums with a metro station nearby.

comments Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to pay with credit card on the time of my stay. Instead I was forced to withdraw money from a teller machine, costing me an additional tax of 4 Euro.

comments This is the 4 time i have stayed there its very clean and friendly, although if you dont speak much Spanish and you want to ask something it can be difficult.

comments The hostel is centrally located close to the tube station. The room was basic but clean and comfortable and the bathroom much the same. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
