Hostal San Jose has got a very warm and friendly wellcoming. The Hostal is very clean and the rooms are very comfortable and practical if you are travelling in a low budget, as they have got microwave and fridge, plus TV. The location is perfect if you want to be in the heart of the city centre, with full access to restaurants, transports, cinemas, etc. I would strongly recommend Hostal San Jose to anybody who wish to travel in a low budget and feel good and comfortable while experiencing Madrid.	report this review as inappropriate

it at a second floor, so it is not extremely easy to reach when moving with luggage. The room was nice, fairly close to the center; the neighborhood was not extremely clean but you can survive with.	report this review as inappropriate

Atención muy buena. Habitación triple sencilla pero limpia. El uso del minifrigorífico y del microondas abarató enormemente el viaje al poder hacer los desayunos y cenas en la habitación. Muy cerca del centro de la ciudad. Wifi funcionó perfectamente. I enjoyed my stay very much. My room was spotless and perfect for my needs. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, except you're not allowed visitors! As a single woman staying there, I felt very safe. Worth every cent!	report this review as inappropriate

Accommodation very very clean and tidy and felt safe, room too small for a 5day stay. Not much atmosphere in the Hostal, phone in the corridor is in a silly place and woke me up every night and the loud doorbell, fridge in my room also kept me wake, never slept much.But location was excellent 5minutes from the Gran Via main street. get to all sights on foot. Price was reasonable if on a budget, possibly come here again for a couple of nights only, more for the businessman rather than the solo female taveller. The maid was fantastic even though she didnt speak english she was very welcoming very impressed.	report this review as inappropriate

Dentro de su categoría un número úno. El Hostal está en una casa vieja, pero está totalmente renmozado. El trato es excelente, recibiendo ayuda en los pequeños problemas que pude tener. Well located, relatively quiet, clean and friendly. A good value. I plan to stay there again. For cheaper, internet access, more moderately-priced and more authentic food and drink, explore the smaller streets near the Hostal. Gran Via is much more expensive.	report this review as inappropriate

La verdad es que es un hostal pequeño e increiblemente familiar. El trato es muy cercano y las habitaciones tienen lo mínimo que puede pedirse a un hostal de este tipo. El único "pero" quizás sea la zona donde está situado. Es céntrico, pero en una calle muy poco transitada y algo a desmano. Muy recomendable para cortas estancias.	report this review as inappropriate

I stayed in San Jose with my wife and 3 children and we were very happy with everything about the hostal. The owners and their family were very helpful and gave us plenty of helpful information about places to visit in Madrid. The rooms we had were both en suite and extremely clean and tidied every day. The only complaint we had was the noise outside which had nothing to do with the hostal. We would definitely return to San Jose if we go back to Madrid.	report this review as inappropriate

Rozando la perfección, llegas, te dan la llave de todo y entras y sales cuando quieras. Junto a Gran Via y Plaza de España y de casi cualquier linea de metro, mayoria de destinos turísticos visitables andando, por tanto. El trato muy agradable, cordial y dispuesto a echarte una mano con todo lo que necesites (dudas, teléfonos...) Habitación limpisima, constaba de baño privado y completo, a/a, calefacción, mesitas de noche y cama cómoda. Además, tiene microondas y nevera por sí eres de los que vas a Madrid a no gastarte el dinero en comida. Cambio diario de toallas y sábanas. El día de salida me guardaron las maletas en su casa (los dueños viven en el hostal residencia) hasta que fuimos a por ellas. Mi pareja y yo, acabamos encantados. Hotel a precio de Hostal. Os lo recomiendo, pero no lo satureis eh! que cuando vuelva a Madrid quiero alojarme allí de nuevo.	report this review as inappropriate

this hostal was a little too quiet for me but i booked last minute and was glad to have a place to stay in general.. but it was great... small, clean, microwave and sink in my own room was a bonus.. completely family run i felt as if i was staying in the extension of someones house.. oh wait i was.. the 2 children speak english and were willing to help out as much as they could.. walking distance to most of the sights and not far from the metro either...	report this review as inappropriate

Had difficulty gaining access to the hostal initially as we couldn't work out which intercom button to press at the entrance. However, once that was sorted, our overall experience was positive. Good location (near Callao metro station) with easy access to major attractions. Family run place where the 2 adult children speak good english and assisted us with our check in, questions etc. Our room had a microwave, tv, attached shower/toilet. We brought our laptop along so the free wifi available at the hostal was a huge plus. Get the details from the owner's son on how to access the internet. Hotel bien situé, tout proche du centre et au calme . Micro-onde et frigo très appréciable! avec la clim aussi! "salle de bain" vraiment très petite, faut pas être grand ... Les proprios sont gentils et acueillants , dommage la barrière de la langue , ne parlent que l'espagnol. Pour quelques jours c'est un bon hotel pour un séjour agréable . Staff were very friendly, room was clean and bed was comfortable. Room was small but then it had a sink, fridge, microwave, wardrobe & tv! Hostal was in a good location - a quiet street near Gran Via. WIFI was slow and cut out a few times, but it was free and unlimited. No credit cards accepted, but this was not a problem for me. Estuve solo una noche pero estuvo bien. Me atendio una chica muy amable. Me toco una habitacion con banho privado. Todo muy limpio, me dieron toallas tambien muy limpias. Clean, cheap. The owners are symphatic. In the center in a not noisy street. Anyway don´t forget it is a small "hostal" and from 9 AM it becomes a little bit noisy (when cleaning, receiving new guests, the ringing telephone). For the price, it compensates.	report this review as inappropriate
