comments La habitación aunque pequeña fué aceptable , lo peor de ella el aseo , muy pero que muy pequeño . La gente del hostal bastante amables , aunque deberian de tener en cuenta que hay gente en las habitaciones y no hacer tanto ruido , imposible dormir la siesta :( La ubicación excelente , en plena calle fuencarral, una calle muy transitada y con muchos establecimientos pero repito que los unicos ruidos que nos molestaron provenian siempre del interior del hostal.

comments As per previous comments the Hostal is well located to shopping and the main tourist sites and the staff working there do not speak any English. The room was serviced daily after 1pm and kept clean. Our room faced an internal court yard which I suspect many other of the rooms do. The internet WI FI did not work from our room however we did get a painfully slow connection in the reception area. Better to find a cafe with free WI FI access. Also I should note that the area boarders a transexual red light district both in front of the Hostal and the streets behind. However it is not particularly threatening or unsafe. The streets behind maybe risky in the early hours of the morning.

comments Perfect hostal. Small room, but very tidy. Cleaned up every day. Small bathroom, but everything in it (shower, sink, toilet). Friendly people (only spanish language can be problem, but problems always get solved). In the center, next 'grand via' which is like the big shopping street. Perfect for city tripping, maybe a little bit to small for 2 week stay. But excellent for city tripping like said before. very nice!

comments The hotel is nice, clean, the room is comfortable, the location is very good in downtown. The only problem was that the ladies there don't speak a single word in English or other foreign language, so it is complicated for those who don't speak Spanish. But finally everything was OK:

comments Room was very basic, but clean & quiet - despite the 24hr partying going on outside. There is no wi-fi/internet as advertised and staff refused to give us a spare/hand towel, even though there were only two of us staying in a tripple room.

comments I had a great stay here. Perfect location for me. Very Clean & quiet. As has been said before the staff are friendly but speak no English. When arriving you have to buzz in- At least you should know "Tengo una reserva" (I have a reservation) Then they ask your name. I'm going back to Madrid in September & will be staying there again And do try the coffee machine in reception-Great coffee for ?0.50 There was 1 thing,over the sink is a sticker "Madrid needs water" so a sink plug wouldn't go amiss

comments El hostal es un excelente lugar para estar. Su personal es muy amable. Los cuartos estan siempre limpios. El mobiliario y las habitaciones estan en buen estado. Es cómodo. Esta bien ubicado en el centro de madrid, tiene facilidades de comercios, restaurantes, tiendas y metro a poca distancia. Lo recomiendo a todos los que esten buscando un buen lugar por un precio razonable.

comments Enjoyed our stay very much. Room cleaned everyday. Beautiful staircase, Helpful owner. Bathroom a bit small but ok. Only problem was showerhead wasn't attached to wall. Very central location. Could walk everywhere. Recommended, would stay thereagain.

comments The first day I was in a room without wc although I asked and paid for a room with wc. After a day, the staff told me they did a mistake and they though given me a room with bathroom and wc. But the bill was not changed.

comments the room was very nice with tv, clean towels each day, private bathroom although it could get a bit noisy at night since my room was located next to the stairwell and the walls are pretty thin. Also, come prepared with some Spanish phrases under the belt like "tiene una reservacion" in case the front desk person doesn't speak english for the anglophones who are interested.

comments El lugar es limpio y agradable. Al parecer está recientemente restaurado. Está en pleno centro, es un punto excelente y bien comunicado. La gran falencia es que no dan desayuno ni aunque quieras pagarlo y me parece que es una prestación básica que se debe brindar en un hostal. Por otro lado, durante la noche hay mucho ruido de gente que entra y sale, y por la mañana muy temprano el personal del mismo hostal hace ruidos y hablan entre ellos a los gritos. Eso es una falta de respecto (hablo de un sábado a las ocho de la mañana). En general está muy bien el hostal para ir de paso, un par de noches. Lo recomiendo, yo volvería.

comments The hotel is extremely cheap, and is located very well, right in a shopping street in the centre. Whereas I normally wouldn't like to stay in a street like this, Madrid shopping streets are worth it (DJs in the evenings, etc). The rooms are very basic, but perfect for sleeping and taking a shower. It looks quite comfortable. Negative thing are: no breakfast, and no English speaking staff. This is intereting in some cases...

comments The hostel was very clean and was quiet all the day long. It is in the best area were to live if you are a tourist or even if you have to search for a permanent accomodation. The area is the best for shopping and is quite and sure at night. We had the key of the main door so there was no problems for going out at night. I really advice this hostel. The only doubt: they didn't make me the receive but only put a sign on my reservation paper.....

comments This is an excellent bargain. The Hostal was extremely clean. Location is outstanding. The people with whom we dealt were extremely friendly and accommodating. We stayed is 3 different rooms and all had nice balcony views of the street scene below.

comments We had a very pleasant stay at Hostal Los Alpes. The location was about 1/2 a block north of the Gran Via Metro stop, on a busy shopping street centrally located in downtown Madrid. It was very easy to walk to most places, like the Prado, Reina Sofia museum, Retiro Park, Puerta del Sol, and Plaza Major. Our room, which was ensuite, was spacious and fairly quiet (with windows facing an inner courtyard), extremely clean, and must have been modernized recently. Everything seemed fairly new. We stayed 6 nights and the rate was very reasonable considering the location. The room was cleaned daily, the towels were always fresh, and the sheets were also changed after a couple days. It was helpful to speak Spanish with the proprietor, who was pleasant. The hostal was very safe. Three keys were needed to get to our room. In addition, a safe was available in the room for our use. We would not hesitate to stay at Hostal Los Alpes again.

comments The rooms were spotless, the location was great - close to the metro. We did have difficulty communicating as the staff understood zero english (and our spanish was pretty bad!!) so come armed with some spanish phrases!! Otherwise very enjoyable stay. Highly recommend.

The hostal is quite cheap and the location is excellente, but we never saw any staff except when checking in and checking out. No one in the staff seems to speak English. I would recommend Hostal Los Alpes to anyone who need a great place to stay in Madrid!

comments The staff do not speak english but were very friendly and accomodating. I stayed in a variety of rooms and they were all very clean, warm and mostly quiet. En suite bathrooms are compact but nice enough and communal ones are newer and bigger. Also, very good location. There are definitely cheaper hostels but i would still recommend los alpes.

comments the building itself is pretty old, which means you can hear all of the people in the rooms next to you, and you also can't shower if the person nex t door is showering. But the women who run the hostal are very nice. The price is amazing for what you get: The rooms are clean and safe, and the location is within walking distance of a Metro and of the street that has all of the tourist museums and stores.

comments They should say its better to take the Gran Via line from the airport and not via Tribunal because it is a long walk from Tribunal compared to the Gran Via

comments The information on their website was misleading. The info seemed to indicate an ensuite bathroom, which I did not get. The owner speaks no english which made communication difficult at time. My room was an end of corridor without windows and inadequate air-con.

comments El hotel, en términos generales, está bien, es limpio y la habitación en la que estuve (individual con ducha) me dejó satisfecha. Además te dan las llaves de la habitación, puerta de entrada y portal. Aunque la del portal no abriese. Supongo que tendrían algún problema. El edificio parece que se va a caer a cachos y por momentos pero subiendo en ascensor está todo solucionado. En general bien.

comments En octobre dernier, j'ai passé deux jours à l'Hostal Los Alpes à Madrid et je recommande cet hôtel à tous ceux qui cherchent à se loger à bon prix mais aussi avec tout le confort. Les rénovations dans l'entrée n'affecte en rien les services de l'hôtel et on peut profiter d'un ascenseur car les chambres se trouvent au 3e et au 4e étage. C'est un hôtel complètement rénové, d'une propreté impeccable. La dame à la réception vous accueille chaleureusement et a même gardé mes bagages jusqu'à l'heure à laquelle je devais prendre le train. Si jamais je retourne à Madrid, c'est à l'Hostal Los Alpes que je logerai.

comments The room was clean etc, but I thought that the room would have a private toilet as well as shower. The hall was being completely redecorated downsatirs, which was inconvenient, and the directions could have been better)it{s a lot nearer to Gran Via then to Tribunal! Tribunal will result in a long walk. They took a long time to figure out who I was from the printout I gave them, as my Credit card details include my middle name. The stay was fine, but they were just a bit disorganised, with little tourist info, and the directions pretty bad.

comments Los únicos puntos en contra son que prometían acceso a internet WIFI pero nunca funcionó, además está en un cuarto piso sin ascensor. La atención de los empleados fué excelente y la limpieza correcta.
