Excellent location right beside Gran Via metro in a surprisingly quiet street. The room packed everything into a small space but with a/c and a fan. Only 4 TV channels. Cheap internet access in lobby and adequate breakfast. Really good value for money |

The hostal was excellently located in the centre of Madrid and proved a superb location. The room however was very very small and the layout very cramped - the toilet was difficult to use - if I needed to sit on the toilet I had to have my right foot placed inside the corner of the shower unit and the toilet paper holder was badly placed; the only window, a small one, opened out onto a closed courtyard - however the room was cleaned every day to a very high standard and I could not fault it in that respect. All in all, for the rate I paid I would have to say that while I would not be overly happy at the room provided I was happy at the standards of cleanliness and the helpfulness of the staff. |

El hostal es limpio y bonito, y te dejan desayunar hasta las 11 por lo que se puede dormir un poco más. Pero al ser un primer piso, no te dejan las llaves para entrar cuando quieras y es una zona bastante ruidosa por lo que cuesta dormir la noche seguida. |

although rooms were basic this is to be expected for the price paid to stay in the centre of madrid. Yes its on the edge of the red light district with lots of working girls around but then i wouldn't recommend it for famillies. my only negative comment is that if you have a late night dont bother getting up early fro breakfast as its not really worth it. Overall good value for money |

The room was clean, if a little tired, but there was 1 very tall thin window that let next to no natural light in. I had to crane my neck to see the sky as the room looked onto the courtyard. The worst thing was that "breakfast" (a stale bun and a glass of juice) was served next door and the walls were so thin that every morning we were woken by the clattering of someone clumsily setting up. The staff were surly and unfriendly. I shall not return. |

habitación individual con ducha, sanitario y lavabo.muy espartano todo.cama muy cómoda ,ideal para estancia de uno o dos días, sin tener que estar en la habitación mucho tiempo,solo dormir.Desayuno correcto con café zumo y dulces,aunque eché de menos tostadas.El precio adecuado y a menos de doscientos metros del Metro.Volvería,pero para pocas noches. |

Our stay ws very pleasant, the staff of HLF made it possible, location was excellent, a few meters from La Gran Via and the metro. Room was small by US standards, but clean. Continental breakfast included.We are older travelers and we were satisfied with the location, two doors from a neighborhood store that open from 7:30am to 11:30 pm...all in all we would stay at La Fontana again without hesitation... |

This place gets 5 for its location and money value! but the room is very tiny for 3 ppl and the shower is uncomfortable to use! The top bunk bed plank was broken and we were scared. Opposite a sex shop, but doesn't matter. Gran Via has plenty of red light area. Nice place if you're tight on budget and short stay |

Very good location and very reasonably priced. Staff weren't too helpful regarding Wi-Fi and room was rather dark. Funny how even big chains like Premier Lodge in UK start cost cutting by putting in horrible long life bulbs that dont give out any light! However, for a budger accomodation, I would recommend it, and its in a very quiet street. |

Excellent hostel, great decor and location. We enjoyed our stay. We loved that it was strictly no smoking. However, like many other hostels the walls were paper-thin.
Breakfast was simple and carb heavy, but hot coffee/tea in the morning was nice.

I have never stayed at a hostal before but was happy to aquire rooms with just 2 beds and a washroom. The Hostal was clean and friendly. They are located in a busy area near Gran Via and they kept an eye on their security. They also were very helpful to us. |

i enjoy my stay in madrid i like the hotel close to everything. staff was very nice ,though they dont speak enlglish , they are helpful. my big comment is the breakfast .Me and my husband has still to have breakfast outside .coffee and cookies, crackers that you served will not last even for 30 minutes. |

El hostal está muy bien localizado, en pleno centro de Madrid. Los cuartos son pequeños (al menos el individual sin baño, es pequeñito) pero funcionales y cómodos, además de que resulta sorprendente que no se escuche ruido alguno de la calle estando tan cerca. El desayuno se sirve de 8 a 11, lo cual da un buen margen para quienes quieren madrugar o quienes prefieren comenzar un poco más tarde el día. Creo que la relación calidad/precio es muy buena. |

very friendly staff and clean hostel its basic but all you need and 24 hr reception so you can come and go as you like all night breakfast is basic but again a cup of tea or coffee is ample with maderia cakes as many as you can eat just to start you of would def stay again and there was no problem leaving our suitcase with them till 5pm as we had an evening flight all in all a great experience and great location right of the main road Gran Via and 2 mins from the tube which takes you to the airport |

Por el mismo precio he estado en hostales mucho mejores. Las habitaciones están mucho más estropeadas que en la foto. El cuarto de baño es una prolongación de la habitación y con el frio que hizo en Madrid en Diciembre que fuí yo la calefacción estaba al mínimo por no decir que no la encendierón. El desayuno aceptable. |

Muy limpio, buen servicio, buen desayuno, excelente localización, muy cerca del metro y Gran Vía. Deben tener personal 24 horas para los huéspedes que parten de madrugada. Lo recomiendo y si regreso a Madrid sin dudarlo lo utilizaría nuevamente. |

Myself and my two daughters were very pleased with our stay. We had a good idea what to expect having read reviews on this hostel. The place is so warm and welcoming it is spotless. Our room was perfect for what we required and for what the price we were paying. The room was cleaned everyday and new bed linen and fresh towels. The area is very centrsl a couple yards walk and you are on the Gran Via. We were aware that the walls are on the thin side in the hostel so came equiped with ear plugs and that sorted that and we were also aware of the sex shop across the street but life goes on in Madrid and you go with the flow. The building in which the hostel is housed is beautifull full of character. I loved it. Hazelle. |
