	The place was kept very clean. Small room but comfortable. Having air conditioning really helped.

	Very central, 2 mins from the Plaza Mayor and Sol metro station. Room was clean and the aircon worked fine. Not bad at all for the price!

	I had a quiet single room in this very centrally situated hotel near the Plaza Mayor. The bed was a small double and all the facilities in the room were clean and in perfect working order. The staff were pleasant and helpful. This is a modest hotel but I felt it was very good value for money. I would certainly be happy to return.

	Although advertised as a hostal this is really a very comfortable hotel, the rooms were spotless although a little small, free internet, drinks machine available and very friendly and efficient staff. The location could not be beaten 100 metres for Plaza Major and a short stroll to Plaza Sol for buses and the metro. Great stay would recommend to anyone travelling on a budget.

	Très propre et central. Bon accueil. Nous aurions souhaité avoir été informés d'avance pour l'opération de l'ascenseur et du fait que la chambre se trouvait au 1er étage (et non à la réception au 3e). À recommander sans hésitation! Excellent rapport qualité-prix!

	didn't see any room that resembled the picture online, room was clean apart from the walls had something spilled over them that I didn't really fancy taking a closer look at, the bathroom was immaculate and the shower excellent, the position of hostel brilliant for all the sights, all within walking distance and only 5 mins from the tube, staff very helpful

	good value for money in the centre of Madrid. A basic hostal but clean and warm . got a room with a balcony overlooking the Plaza.You couldn't get a better location.

	Room was small but clean and pleasantand the staff were helpful. However, I left my camera battery (very expensive) in the room, sent an email the day after and have received no reply. Can you tell me how to contact them other than by email??

	The Hostal was very nice. It was very clean and had nice rooms. The only downer was that it was very loud as we were staying right next to the door and people ring the bell a lot. Saying that you couldn't get more central and would stay there again.

	The hostal was very clean, and certainly the room,albeit a little small was equipped with a very good shower. I thought the security aspects were good and the staff very helpful.

My friend and I stayed in a double for five nights. It was very clean, comfortable, quiet, and even nicely decorated. It was much nicer than what I expected, given how affordable it was. Plus, the location was great and the staff were so helpful in accommodating our request to stay longer and even helped us find a laundry nearby. If I have the fortune of coming back to Madrid soon, I would definitely want to stay in the same place.

Habitación pequeña. Se reservó una doble y me asignaron una con cama de matrimonio que es más pequeña que las dobles y que no había pedido expresamente. Al llegar de los últimos posiblemente dieron de las pequeñas. Es un hostal frecuentado por guiris por lo que puestos a tener problemas mejor con los españoles. Por lo demás todo bien. Buena limpieza. La habitación 316 es con cama de matrimonio y pequeña.

	L'hôtel est vraiment très bien situé, notre chambre était petite mais propre, calme et confortable. Le personnel s'est montré charmant. Très bon rapport qualité-prix.

	English language was an issue. The staff tried to help but was difficult withought common language to communicate. Using in-room safe box was costy, each time I needed to open the box I had to pay 1 Euro. Otherwise, location is fantastic, its clean and relatively safe.

	The location was perfect. The room was the biggest we had in a Hostal. You could come and go as you please because you had a key for the front door. Excellent value for the price!

	We got a very nice room towards the plaza. Good furniture, good bath. The place is run by very kind people. If we go again to Madrid, we will ask the Hotal Cruz Sol first.

	La localización del hostal es EXCELENTE, uno está a 20 pasos de la lindisima Plaza Mayor donde además se encuentra un punto de Info Turístico, con internet gratuito. El servicio del Hostal fue muy bueno, las personas muy amables. Las habitaciones tienen todo lo necesario, todo está muy limpio y práctico.

On booking we were told that our we had a room with on an outside view, but on our arrival we had a very small room looking out onto the courtyard. After we complained, we were moved to another room, which had an outside view and was much bigger than the first one. We were not happy at all that we were given a room completely different to the one promised on the website, and on booking. They did rectify this, however, but only after we insisted that they did not fulfil their promise.

	Room was clean and comfortable with a two balconies. Very centrally located near Plaza Mayor. We were a little nervous on arrival how to our keys, but after a few tries found help and had a pleasant stay.

	tHE HOSTEL IS IDEALLY SITUATED WITH PLENT TO SEE AND DO RIGHT ON YOUR DOORSTEP. THE ROOMS WERE WELL FURNISHED AND VERY CLEAN AND WE ENCOUNTERED NO PROBLEM FROM NOISE ALTHOUGH THIS MAY BE DIFFERENT IN THE SUMMER MONTHS. ALL IN ALL VERY GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY.

Clean but small place. Close to all the things to see and in the middle of the old part of town. They dont speak english, but it works out fine anyway. I recommend it to everyone. We asked for students discount at the desk, but had unfortunately already booked it over the net.....and the price was fixed. The bathroom is also extremely small and the bath itself had only room for half a person :-). Notice that when you book a room en suite.
