The heater wasn't on in the room when we checked-in but it didn't take too long to heat up.There was also no residents bar available-we didn't want to avail of it during this stay but would have liked the option.	report this review as inappropriate

Reception was lovely, parking very convenient and safe. Bedrooms were very comfortable and clean. The journey to the bar is not for the elderly or anyone with walking problems as you have to access from hotel via a steep flight of stairs otherwise you have to go outside the building to visit the bar. I did have some problems on arrival to the hotel, I could not check in at the time advertised. Although I was not too happy after a long drive, I accepted this as I could not wait around for another hour or more until the rooms were ready. When I got back later that night I had been assigned a room on a floor I did not request, and the room reeked of stale cigarettes. I asked the night receptionist to contact the night manager for me as I was quite bothered by the events at this stage. She did so promptly and chased him up when he did not arrive within a few minutes. He was very pleasant and took my complaint on board graciously. He located and adapted an alternative room for me, as all double rooms in the hotel were fully booked that night. I say thanks and well done to the manager & staff working that night. It makes it easier when not met with resistance when having to complain. The hotel is excellent value, I've stayed there a few times and thanks to the professionlism of the manager & staff in dealing with this incident I will stay there again.	report this review as inappropriate

Frindly Staff , good food. Areas of improvement though No tissues or toilet brush in bathroom. Restaurant orders did not apply special requests e.g No Onions or no cream. Just applied standard fare. Gents Pool dressing room small, too hot and not maintained.	report this review as inappropriate

The only concern I would like to raise is with the quality of the water in the swimming pool, by the third day the water looked very cloudy and particles (discarded plaster for example) were in the water that were seen on the first day we went swimming. On arriving at Patrick Punchs hotel it is easy to think that you rhave been misled by the description you have been given, as the hotel has the look of a pub/ guesthouse. However when you step inside the doors you can appreciate how great this hotel is. The interior is beautiful, and all the staff we encountered were top notch lovely people. The food is fantastic, especially the breakfast- one of the best I've ever had! We were too lazy to try out the leisure centre (the bed is just too comfy!) and overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. lovely new modern hotel, friendly staff, nice pool etc. unfortunately bedroom smelled of smoke despite all rooms being non-smoking. reported this but no other available room for us to move to that night. didnt see the point in moving on the seco nd night as our clothes etc would smell at that stage. the evening meal was first class but the breakfast was extremely disappointing. the service was very slow and everything was constantly running out and not being replaced in time. this was all foods including bread, milk, juices, hot breakfast. not acceptable that one should have to queue up for their breakfast.	report this review as inappropriate

The standad of accomodation was excellent at Patrick Punches Hotel. The room was beautiful, the food was very good indeed and the gym and leisure facilities were first class. However the one draw back about the hotel is the location. It is a good distance from the city centre and does require a car or a taxi journey to get into town.	report this review as inappropriate

The hotel was clean & modern, friendly front desk reception, pub was comfortable & pub grub was fine. Only thing wrong was there was no air condition in the stuffy room, so you had to open the windows BUT it was too noisy all night with traffic & early morning deliveries, SO we had to sleep with the windows closed. I am sure it would be warm and cozy in the wintertime, but summer time there should be some sort of 'air system' in the room to circulate the stuffy air.	report this review as inappropriate

The hotel itself was fine but the service was extremely bad in the restaurant - We had a party of 10 including children split between five tables - one set of five were served first and it was nearly 3/4 of an hour before the other five people received their meal - Children were crying literally with the hunger when we complained we spoke to a manager but we did not at the time realise it was actually the owner - very dissapointed spoke to receptionist when checking out and she was going to get him to phone us - Still Waiting !!!	report this review as inappropriate

I had a lovely stay in Limerick. Patrick Punches Hotel. The only thing which I was dissapointed about was that on arrivial although I had requested gluten free - dairy free died there was nothing for my breakfast the first morning. They did however get in soya yogurt and soya milk for the next morning, but there was very little else I could have for breakfast, as I cant eat any of the cereals which were supplied. The fruit was condaminated with the cereal. They did try to fix this for the next morning but I dont think the realise how important it is to get food which is not contaminated. They did try to accomodadate me with evening meals but again the don't have enough information on gluten free diet as I was given soya sauce which has wheat(gluten) in it.	report this review as inappropriate

Very friendly and efficient staff both at the front desk and in the bar/restaurant. The breakfast and evening meal were excellent. The bar food was good if a little expensive. Room was very comfortable and quiet. The Leisure centre was clean and hygenic. My partner would have used the leisure centre more if there were private changing cubicles in the ladies as the communal changing area was faced by two doors and offered no privacy. This hotel had only been opened a month when we stayed. Despite a few teething problems as a result of its newness (human errors), we coulnd't believe how luxurious it was, esp for the low price we paid. Fabulous art deco dining room, gorgeous pool, and all ultra mod cons - AND close to main centre on O'Connell Street.	report this review as inappropriate
