The concerge at the desk was extremely helpful upon our checkin. Without being asked, they provided a map to the city and pointed out interesting sites and gave us information as far as where to find shopping and eating establishments. The room was very clean and well kept and stocked with tea and buscuits. Could not be more satisfied!!

Absolutely wonderful!! After traveling for hours, it was such a relief to be able to check in quickly with someone who was beyond friendly! The room itself definitely exceeded my expectations. Super clean and spacious, with a very comfortable bed! Loved soaking in the amazing bathtub after a long day! Breakfast the next day deserves a mention too! Excellent!

The service offered at the Pembroke was everything I expected. I had a thorughly pleasant evening and overnight stay and I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel for either business or pleasure trips to the Marble City. Thank you to all the staff.

We had a 3 day break with you, and cannot fault the whole experiance, all the staff were polite and cheerful, the room was very clean and spacious, the breakfast was exellant, I will certainly be booking my stay with you again when I next visit Kilkenny.

Hotel is easy to find, close to city center and with a lovely view of the ancient castle and park, rooms are elegant and well furnished, staff is very friendly and evening menu as well as breakfast were most enjoyable. Our stay at Pembroke Hotel Kilkenny was way beyond all our expectations and this all at a very reasonable price!

Stayed with my wife + 4 month old daughter. Room was very spacious, staff extremely polite and friendly, and the hotel itself was very well located for exploring Kilkenny. Slightly disappointing dinner at Statham's but overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Its the second time we have stayed at the Pembroke Hotel Kilkenny and would recommend it very highly. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean.

Really pleased with this hotel. It's the first time we'd stayed and were bowled over by how nice out experience was from the check-in to check-out. The restaurant serves excellent food, some of the best we've had in Kilkenny and the room was huge, with a really comfortable bed. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The Pembroke was a welcome change from the larger, impersonal chain hotels. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for exploring Kilkenny. I would definitely return and would not hesitate to refer other travelers.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Pembroke hotel. We brought our 6 week old daughter with us and asked to be accomodated in a quite room and also requested a travel cot. Both requests were met and we were so happy during our stay. We also had a meal included within our package, and we found the food in the restaurant very nice. Also the staff at both reception, in the bar and the restaurant. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone!!

A very enjoyable stay. The rooms were lovely, very comfortable and clean with excellent beds. The rooms were a great size. The location of the hotel is ideal for all the tourist attractions. The most notable aspect of the hotel was how incredibly freindly and helpful the staff were. The food is great to.

On the day I arrived it was cold damp and raining and after turning the corner looking for the Hotel I was impressed by the bright colourful
entrance. The staff, from the welcome desk to the cleaner could not have been more helpful. The overall stay was excellent and I can see myself going back within the year.

the rooms were clean and the staff at reception and household friendly . The negative experience of our stay was the breakfast experience the next morning . We arrived down at 10am which i know is a busy time . There were tables vacant but not cleared from last guest . Where you get your hot breakfast is stuck in a corner , staff were hasseled getting toast made and tea and coffe into pots ( which was cold ) we had to wait for refill of hot food .The female senior staff member got narkey with a guest , it was chaotic .There was a lack of organisation and not enough staff on duty . I mentioned it to the receptionist and she asked if i wishe to speak to a manager , due to how she spoke to the other guest earlier . This experience brought the stay down in my rating , it wasnt a bargain at 95 euro for two people ,

I booked and paid for a superior/deluxe room. This was to include a large room with slippers, dressing gown and water etc. On arrival we were very happy with the room. After being in the room for about an hour we noticed a smell of smoke coming from the ventilation system. I reported this the reception desk on my way out for dinner and on our return about an hour and a half later reception called the room agreeing there was a definite smell of smoke and also that if we wished we could change rooms. Obviously no one wants to sleep in a room with a smell so we request to change rooms. This took forty five minutes to organise. The room we were moved into was tiny and had none of the extras to which we had already paid for. I called reception and they did ensure the extras were sent up. But no apology for the fact that the room was most definitely not what we had paid for. On checking out of this hotel I once again mentioned the problems we encountered to the girl at reception and she said she would mention this to the manager who conveniently was off. It is not over a week later and I have heard nothing. I feel this is not the type of service you expect from a 4* hotel. Stay here at your peril!! PS there was no explanation as to what the smell was !!!

Lovely hotel and very welcoming staff. However, we were kept awake bu the noisy air conditioning unit (which was turned off).Sounded like wind whistling through it all night long.Also shower very difficult to control, no instructions in bathroom. Also, breakfast buffett running very short at 10.30and as usual with a buffett, food only luke warm.on the plus side, great location and nice, spacious rooms.Again, lovely staff especially the receptionist on duty.

The hotel is centrally located within walking distance from the bars, restaurants and shops. Lovely, clean hotel with a nice bar. Staff were friendly and the room rate was very reasonable for 2 people sharing. Would definitely use this hotel again.

We found the location of the hotel absolutely brilliant, really close to the city centre and the castle too. Car parking facilities are very handy also. The room itself was extremely clean, the breakfast was delicious. The only downfall was that the heating wasn't working properly when we arrived and it took some time to get going. Overall though we had a lovely stay at the hotel.

The room I stayed in, while lovely, was freezing cold. I rang down to reception early in the evening to get the heating fixed. After coming back from being out for dinner the room was still quite cold. I had to ring down again & ended up changing rooms at 11pm & having a storage heater in the new room. For a 4 star hotel I expedted more. Nothing was mentioned or apology extended for this as I checked out & to be honest I've no plans to stay in this hotel in the future.

My wife and I had a chance to stay at the Pembroke Hotel in Kilkenny during a short vacation in Ireland. We used the hotel as our home base, while we explored both Kilkenny as well as other cities in the southern areas of the country. We were very pleased with the service, the staff and the room itself. There is nothing like coming to the hotel after a long day of exploring to the safety, security, and comfort provided. We are very happy with our experience, and gladly recommend the hotel to any other visitors looking for a good place to stay during their visit.

I stayed at Pembroke Hotel with my husband for a weekend. The hotel is close to all amenities and night life. The hotel is very comfortable and clean, and the room was spacious. The food both for dinner and breakfast was delicious with a good variety on the menu. Unfortunately the gym was not available during our stay as it was being renovated but we had use of Kilkenny leisure centre which is close by. The one complaint I would have is the limited parking facilities as is the problem with a lot of hotels in the city. The staff were helpful and friendly, and I would stay again.

We stayed at the Pembroke in the first months that it opened a few years ago. We liked the boutique style and feel to the hotel. It was small and intimate. We liked the service, the staff were friendly, our evening meal was lovely which was upstairs in the bar at that time. I looked for a quiet room on this occasion and I am grateful that we stayed in 118 as it was perfect. I like an airy room and being able to open the window fully was super as I suffer sinisitus. The staff were friendly and I recognised the lady in charge of the dining room from our previous stay. I believe the hotel is now under new management and of course due to the recession there may not be as many staff but over the Bank Holiday week-end Breakfast time was a bit of a disaster. We waited 50 minutes to be seated on the Sunday morning. I enjoyed the breakfast. I looked for poached eggs and they arrived promptly. On Monday morning I waited 10 mins at the hot counter for eggs to come out and eventually scrambled eggs arrived. My partner was finished his breakfast when I came to the table which isnt great when you are away for a week-end not to dine together! Service was quite slow at Dinner time though there was only about 10 people in the restaurant at the time. Saying that there may be only one chef on and the food was lovely so worth the wait. We will stay again. I do like the Pembroke and I appreciate that there cant be as many staff on during these times. However I think if there was a system in place for breakfast. Everyone seemed to be making pots of tea running around etc., but you cant catch anyone's attention because of this and I feel it for the staff. Maybe offer sittings for breakfast then I think it could be more manageable..........I certainly wouldnt have a problem with that.....Kind regards Anne-marie

Comfortable and quiet rooms, and everyone on the staff without exception was polite and extremely friendly. The only downside was that we had to wait for breakfast because it was overcrowded, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay overall.

The guest room was more than comfortable; it was exquisite. We ate five meals at the hotel over two days, and the food was terrific. The location was ideal, and parking arrangements were satisfactory. Hotel management was welcoming and helpful. The experience was not perfect. Service from the restaurant wait staff and particularly the front desk was inconsistent, ranging from warm and friendly to cold and confused.

This is a first class hotel in a wonderful Irish town. The reception area is beautifully decorated and the staff was helpful and friendly. But the real draw is the room! We had a king sized, comfortable and the lines top quality. The bathroom was large and updated with the perfect tub. I could not believe the quality and size of the room especially for the price. I expected a nice hotel, but was amazed by how the Pembroke exceeded my expectations. Plus an extremely helpful staff. The free parking was a bonus.

Really enjoyed our few days stay at the Pembroke. Staff were really pleasant and helpful. Food was excellant and had a good variety for all tastes. Our accomodation was to a high standard and really enjoy being able to rest in a comfortable bed.

lovely modern hotel, central location! breakfast was lovely as was our evening meal in Stathams Bar & Grill! Staff very friendly.
