We stayed over the New Years weekend to attend a wedding at the Malton. Our self catering Maple apartment was perfect for our purpose, very spacious and beautifully decorated. On arrival is was ready for us early and we were delighted to find EVERYTHING you might need was supplied i.e. enough tea bags, coffee, sugar, washing machine and dishwasher tablets to last a week!. The beds were very comfortable, and the apartment was spotlessly clean. The kitchen was very well equiped and had lovely marble counter tops. The biggest surprise was the living area where there was 3 large comfy sofas and a large flat screen T.V. and lovely soft lighting with a full lenght glass wall on one side leading on to a large balcony. We really enjoyed our stay at the Malton, and to top it all off, the wedding was terrific also.

Very impressed with the ambience and facilities of this hotel. The bedroom was large and well appointed and the bathroom was enormous. Dinner one night was included and it was divine! The scale and facilities of the hotel, spa, library and plenty of other places to relax made it easy to spend the time there when the weather was atrocious, which it was. Great central location too beside the train station. Everything within Killarney town easily accessible - shops , cinema, national park. Reception and staff couldn't have been nicer.

Beautiful location, ideal for visiting the town and surrounds. 1minute walk from the rail station, close to stores where bikes can be hired, local church, restaurants, bars etc. Shopping mall across the car park for papers etc. Only one tiny point - the heating is far too hot within the hotel. Service excellent, food superb, friendly staff for whom nothing is too much trouble, lots of reception rooms off the main foyer to relax in. Bar excellent with tv showing sports if asked. Lovely atmosphere and very safe. Would happily stay again(indeed I have every intention of doing so) with my family. Would highly recommend for female travellers alone as extremely secure and pleasant.

I was very taken with the Malton, it had all the desired modern facilities but also retained it's original features which added so much charm, it was comforting to know where one was as some hotels are just the same in every location. A few signs in Irish would be a plus. My comment did not give Irish as an option though guests did travel for an Irish Festival. The reading room was a lovely touch. Thank you.

Price was good value for 2 x BB & meal. Checkin was busy when we arrived, the girl took 3 phone calls whilst checking us in, whilst she apologised I was not asked if I had stayed before and if I new where to go for Breakfast etc..could have dealt with us better.
Rooms - Clean but floorboards in both rooms ( 324/325 ) were so squeaky it was annoying.
Restaurant was good, good food, good service. Breakfast was also good and service was good.
House keeping staff good and polite !
TV - Both rooms could not get Sky News
I personally like larger rooms particularly when booking single rooms but rooms were OK and clean.

A wonderful stay in a fabulous hotel in Killarney. We stay in a lot of boutique hotels, and the Malton was among the finest hotels we have stayed in. The restaurant served the most wonderful food, staff were very courteous and efficient and the meals we had both nights were top class. Our room was spacious and quiet and had everything we wanted. I would highly recommend anyone to stay and enjoy the wonderful surroundings at the Malton.

Breakfast was excellent. Room was nice but very warm Hotel staff did provide a fan. There was also a plumbing problem with the Sink. One other point was that while the room was no smoking there were ciggarette butts on the window sill outside.
That said the small issues did not effect my stay.

We stayed for 3 nights with our 2 kids, aged 3 and 6. Normally, hotels are not the most convenient places to stay with kids. But the Malton proved that it is possible to make both the parents and the children feel fully at home and at ease. Our stay there was super. Most of that is thanks to the very friendly personnel who regularly check that your stay is going well, and proactively point out activities for the kids. There are many nice drawing rooms around reception where both parents and kids can relax or read a nice book, the leisure center is also more than you normally get, and the central location means that shopping, parks, bars and restaurants are within walking distance. I'd love to go there for Christmas.

We stayed at the Malton for three nights and it was perfect! The food is amazing and the location could not have been any better, we parked our car and didn't have to drive again unless we wanted too. Lot's to do and see in Killarney, I highly recommend staying three or more nights to experience it all. They only recommendation I had was to put Wi-Fi in every room and not just the common areas. Honestly, this is the only place I would stay again if we went back to Killarney. Advice to U.S. drivers, you can drive yourself to Dingle (stay a night for sure), but definitely take the bus tour around the Ring of Kerry, you will see and learn a lot more.

We chose the hotel based on its proximity to the railway station and town. Check-in was courteous and helpful even though we were a bit early. Room was clean and quiet. Dinner in the Garden Room was excellent. Breakfast choice was also very good. Service was good for all meals. Bar was comfortable and welcoming. Swimming pool was good. WiFi worked well when in the lobby. Only slightly negative aspect was that the room was quite warm at night even though we opened the windows as far as possible

The hotel and grounds are very impressive, the room we stayed in was also very good and we had everything we needed in the room and it was very comfortable. We had dinner 2 nights in the garden restaurant and both nights the menu, staff and facilities were excellent. Everything we tried was excellent. We also had some drinkd in the punchbowl bar which again was excellent, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and it was the perfect place to relax after a long day. The health and spa facilities were pretty standard but at the same time the facilities were excellently kept and the staff again were excellent. All in all i think this hotel was one of the best hotels i have stayed in and i would definitely be returning.

Breakfast very disappointing on second day. Ordered poached eggs with crispy pancetta on toasted muffin with tomato relish.......Got two poached eggs on soggy toast!!! Swimming pool more like a community gym rather than a 4 star hotel pool. On the plus, our room was lovely and we enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant with great service.

Hi, everything about my stay was excellent... except, you really need to provide wireless broadband access in the rooms; every hotel I've stayed in recently has it, and it would make me think twice about staying at your hotel for business again, especially I if I had a lot of work to do.

Receptionist booked us a table in a restaurant that was closed. Failed to contact us to advise. Did not realise until arrived at the restaurant. Unable to get a nice restaurant anywhere else in town and ended up a very disappointing dinner. When confronted on return to the hotel, receptionist was very unapologetic. Very impressive hotel and all other staff extremly friendly. We had a lovely upgraded room which we were extremly appreciative of as both my husband and I work in the hospitality. Great location in the heart of the town.

The restaurant, lobby, main hotel areas were much nicer that I expected but the rooms were of poorer standard. I changed from one room to another so I saw a deluxe & a normal room due to the level of noise originally from another room in the deluxe room as the partition Walls between the two rooms was terribly thin

Thankyou for the opportunity to comment on our stay over New Years. As we run a business in greystones, county Wicklow, I know how important customer feedback is and I hope you implement changes as i do.
To be quite frank our stay was really below the standard of what we should expect from a four star hotel.
Its really down to your customer service. It started at check-in when we had just made a very long journey to your door Reception could not be rid of us fast enough. So much so we had no introductory salutation, no explanation of the services, hotel ammenities, where the hotel was placed in the town-no explanation of what might be happening in town for New Years or in the hotel, no offer of hjelp with our bags to our room... it was unbeleiveable how little info we walked away with about your hotel...oh we had to come back to the desk and ask our room number. You might think the desk was full of people to check-in for this kind of greeting- it was just us checking in at the time.
Then to the room. The TV is very old, couldnt find a radio for music, generally shabby apprearance would be our take on your Junior Suite.
Then housekeeping lost our daughters swimsuit-they took it away with the towels-no offer to replace or compensate us-we had to go buy a new one.
But where the Malton really falls down is in customer service. Your waiters in the bar and to a lesser degree in the dining rooms are vacant, unhelpful and SLOW. We ween't asking for speedy service at all but when you wait 45 minutes for an assortment of snacks something has gone wrong.
Most of our waiters had a difficult time understanding us and generally they had terrible attitudes.
On one particular occasion when we had checked out and were waiting in the room opposite t=he library we waited for half an hour until someone came and asked us for our order-I had gone to the bar in the meantime to place our order as we were getting the 3:30 train I asked if we would get our lunch in time (it was 2:50pm at the time) and I was told by a waitress that it would be fine. She actually seamed very unhappy to take an order at the bar for that room and kept referring to a waiter who would be over to greet us we never actually met.
So we waited, at 3:25 even after someone had come and said they would finally get our drinks fifteen minutes prior to us leaving-he caught us on the way out (with no drinks in hand) and seemed surprised we were leaving and annoyed that he still hadnt brought us out drinks)
It really was very bad and although I know we will never stay again at the Malton the one and only person who was kind and helpful was your Concierge. She is the only person at your hotel that weekend who deserves any praise.
We are not difficult people and as we a business I understand to be patient but Spending eight hundred euros in your hotel was a waste of money-esp when times our tough the way you keep people coming back is good customer service.
Also booking 7 weddings in a row might have had something to do with exhasted staff...at least this is what one exhausted staff memb er told us.

Enjoyed my stay but fail to understand why the breakfast room has so many tables? To get from where I was seated I had to do a lap of the room!! There were only four other diners in the room at the time?
When we were seated for breakfast we asked for a table by the window and the waitress reacted as if it was the end of the world. What would she have done if the room had been full?. This was the only "black" mark on an otherwise great visit.

The hotel was very welcoming on our arrival, with fairy tale Christmas decorations and lovely blazing fires. We had a really pleasant overnight stay, with a very good dinner on the night of our arrival, a most comfortablel bedroom and bathroom, and a lovely breakfast the following morning. I made a trivial request late on Thursday evening for a copy of that day's Irish Independent, because there was an article I needed to read. This was attended to with courtesous alacrity, and a copy was made available to me within minutes.
We felt we had a lovely mini holiday, and were only sorry that we were not free to stay for a couple more days, but we will definitely return.

Great hotel, helpful staff, great food, nice rooms in a great location. Couldn`t ask for more really. One slight issue or thing to consider might be looking at ways to improve signage around the hotel as it can be confusing finding your way around , especially from reception to rooms on far wings. Overall, great hotel and fair price really.

Staff, accommodation and food were excellent. We were made extremely welcome and nothing was any trouble for the staff. The only comment we would have is that whereas the 'inside' bar with the fire was lovely and cosy the 'outside' one was very dark and dull and we felt very much on the outside of the activity. We will definitely be back!

restaurant staff both mornings and evening were great to deal with.
Breakfast great , lamb superp fish ok. We would have dined the first night but there is no childrens menu highlighted for the main restaurant. When we asked it was there no problem and they enjoyed it. Garlic bread was no problem as an extra starter for them, great service.
Our only disappointment was that we asked at 10pm on the second night to book a 3rd night in a family room as we would decide in the morning. Reception promised to hold thr room at 10.00am when we went to confirm we were told it was now booked. 2 disappointed kids
but loads of apologies.
A small suggestion would be to have web access in the room as the kids had to go to the library for access.

Breakfast was fine, loved the silver teapot etc. Overall would stay again but perhaps would ask for a newer room and pay the bit extra.

One poor experience, got a late night glass of wine, tills were closed at 11.30 ? (why) so put in down to the room. Was having dinner next day in the bar and told the lady who rang me 1st about the 6.50 this. Paid it with the dinner, got 2 phone calls after, the 2nd of which wsa highly accusatorial. The bar had forgotten to tell whovever the check no. These things happen - it was the tone of the call and the lack of an apology that upset what was otherwise a really good experience (even if it was work unfortunately)

The communal sections of the hotel were all beautiful and very luxurious. I felt that the bedroom however was in need of small touchups (for a 4star hotel), but this is really due to the age of the hotel I suppose. Overall a lovely hotel, and the dining room and entrance foyer are stunning. Lovely helpful staff too.
