Originally built in 1867, this charming town house has been tastefully renovated in a modern style, whilst retaining its historic charm, with stained glass windows and high coved ceilings. Once used as a Christian Brothers house, Scholars Townhouse now provides all the facilities and features of modern accommodation. Local tourist attractions vary from an array of links golf courses and freshwater fishing to famous historic sites as Newgrange, the Hill of Tara, Slane Castle, Millmount Tower and the Battle of the Boyne.
Scholars Townhouse has won best public house/restaurant 2008 in the Drogheda Beauty on The Boyne Awards, Best new Business 2008/2009 in the Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards. Paulo Tullio, Georgina Campbell and The Michelin Guide also recommend Scholars for both 2008 and 2009.

Restaurant: Undoubtedly Drogheda's most outstanding restaurant in terms of food, décor and service, as an all-in dining experience it is second to none. Ceiling frescoes and murals depicting the Battle of the Boyne set the tone of this large room, which is set up with linen table cloths and gleaming glasses. Well known Euro-Toques & World Master Chef George Smith, is Consultant Executive Chef; he and Head Chef, Graham Clarke design and prepare menus of a consistently high standard. Four times a year we have a gourmet evening. Michelin recommended 2008/2009. Recommended in 2008 and 2009 by Paolo Tulio.
