The Clarence offers guests a selection of 49 bedrooms & Suites for you to choose from. These range from our standard category, Superior Rooms, to the spectacular Penthouse Suite. 

Each of the hotel's rooms & suites, no two of which are alike, are decorated in a palette of rich cardinal colours, inspired by ecclesiastical raiment: crimson, royal blue, amethyst, gold & chocolate. The sumputous colours are carried through in dyed-to-match cotton velvet drapes, carpets, leather chairs and upholstered headboards. The rich colour scheme is played off against the simplicity of the Shaker-style oak furniture and crisp white linens to create accommodations that are comfortable and refined.

Each item of furnishing has been custom-designed and crafted primarily by Irish artisans, including the super kingsized beds, the wrought-iron bedside lamps inset with hand-rolled stained glass, the elegant nickel-plated desk lamps and the candle sconces with coloured-glass diffusers.

The Tea Room Restaurant

The Tea Room, one of Dublin’s most praised restaurants, offers a friendly and flexible service to local residents and hotel guests alike with sumptuous cuisine served throughout the day and evening.

Located on the ground floor of The Clarence, with its own entrance on Essex Street, the Tea Room evokes the best of old and contemporary Ireland in an elegant and simple setting. Situated in the original ballroom of the hotel, it occupies a light spacious room with a soaring coved 20ft ceiling.

Come and try the exciting, innovative food of the Tea Room Restaurant. Our style of cooking is all about 'keeping it simple', with menus based on the highest quality Irish produce and seasonal ingredients, enhanced with a continental twist.

The Octagon Bar

Featuring an octagon-shaped dome, The Octagon Bar has remained a favourite Dublin watering hole throughout the hotel's history. Situated in the original bar of the hotel this is the place where Bono & The Edge fell in love with The Clarence and decided to buy the hotel, to this day this is a place they would choose to drink when in Dublin.

Although the Octagon shaped dome & bar are the main focal points there are a number of original historical features just waiting to be discovered. Most examples are found in The Back Bar and include the windows, the octagonal clock over the fireplace, The Snug and the original Art Deco floor.
