Location: Mill Park Hotel is located just a few minutes walk from Donegal's town centre. Donegal town itself is situated close to the mouth of Donegal Bay Activities Nearby: If you are planning a trip to Donegal then you'll find that there's plenty of wonderful sights and activities in the area. Donegal town really is the ideal base from which to do your exploring! For starters, there is the old ruins of Donegal Castle to be found in the town centre. This castle was originally built back in the 15th century by the O'Donnell family and has since been partly restored. Like Donegal Castle, Donegal Abbey also now lies in ruins. It is located south of Donegal town's market square on the River Eske, but you can imagine how it used to look by the few Gothic windows and cloister arches remaining. Just outside Donegal town is the Donegal Craft Village and this is regarded as a showcase facility for local craftspeople and artists. Rossnowlagh is a very popular beach just a few minutes from Donegal town and here you can enjoy surfing, swimming and some fantastic scenery.
