The Arbutus is one of Killarney's original hotels. Best described as an elegant country house hotel in town centre. Operated by the Buckley family since 1926. Their unmistakable approach to hospitality is evident throughout. Highly recommended by many.
Each room in The Arbutus Hotel Killarney- whether Superior, Deluxe or Suite - has its own distinctive décor. Some rooms are finished in the original Celtic Deco style commissioned by Tim Buckley in the 1920s.
Rooms are designed as a haven as well as a place to sleep, somewhere to read, think or chat. While staying at The Arbutus Luxury Hotel in Killarney, we want you to make yourself at home - home with a little magic added. In all, the hotel accommodation is the perfect combination of style and comfort.
Bar & Restaurant:
Food and dining is an integral part of Arbutus hospitality - whether it's a quick bite or a full dinner. Buckley's Bar menu offers a casual, but wholesome meal. Alternatively, you can experience hospitality Norrie Buckley style. Her homecooking is well known among guests and locals - her rice pudding and her chicken paté being particular favourites. Norrie's cooking blends traditional Irish and International recipes, made with the freshest of local, seasonal produce. In 2004 Killarney celebrated the 250th birthday of Irish tourism and the 250th Anniversary of the town itself. It is said that there are only 2 Kingdoms, The Kingdom of God & The Kingdom of Kerry. The latter remains at the forefront of Irish Tourism, lead by a combination of breathtaking scenery, the warmth of the people and the vision of individuals as diverse as the 4th Viscount of Kenmare and our own Tim Buckley. Killarney's dramatic mountains, majestic lakes and historic oak woodland are filled with legend and lore that make them as interesting to talk about over drink in the evening, as they were to climb during the day. The Arbutus hotel in Killarney, is ideal for your hotel break in Kerry, from which to explore all that the Kerry Kingdon has to offer.
