comments Over all i was very happy. On arrival the girl on reception was extremely efficient and friendly. The decor was beautiful through the hotel and the room was stunning.(apart from the seal on the shower door was broken). The location was excellent also. The only disappointing aspect was the breakfast. Overall it was lovely and plenty of choice- I went for the mini irish and it was a low light, I didnt like the quality of the sausages or pudding. The continental breakfast and everything else was perfect tho. Overall i really enjoyed my stay, i have recommended it to friends and family who have since booked and i will definately return.

comments I had a fantastic stay in the House Hotel in Galway. The rooms were amazing, very personal and cosy and I feel it was the nicest hotel that I've ever stayed in. I liked all the small touches in the hotel which made our stay so much more enjoyable. The hotel is in a great location, only a minute away from all the bars and the shopping district and the food in the hotel was delicious. Also the staff were so friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back and stay in this hotel in the future and would recommend anyone to stay here.

comments The room and breakfast were first class, however, the area around the bar has a wooden shiny floor and my wife went head over heals whilst walking through that area. She has a very sprained left foot and a very sore right shoulder following her fall. This ruined our stay as I had to nurse her through the night. There was no offer of help or assistance either which was a shame. We were offered no guidance from the barmaid on my wifes injuries. Please look into this ,matter thank you. Christopher McHugh

comments My stay was fantastic. I love the hotel and the staff was great! I have only one item of feedback. I made inquiries late on the Saturday night of my stay asking about going to the Aran Islands the next day. The person at the desk that night knew nothing about the Aran Islands, distance or location of the ferry, times, etc. The next morning as we were planning to leave, another person was at the desk who was very knowledgeable and suggested we not go to the Aran Islands and mapped out an all day road trip around Connemara which was great!

comments I expected the service to be to the standard of a 'four star boutique hotel', however i was sadly disappointed. On arrival i was given a non-smoking room, however when i reached the room it had a definite smell of smoke. When i rang reception to enquire if i had gotten a smoking room by mistake they assured me that all smoking rooms were on the floor above. Secondly the face cloths in my bathroom on arrival, were stained with make up i rang reception for a new set which they delievered eventually. Thirdly the cleaniness of the room in particular the badly stained carpet was definitely not to a four star standard. Boutique hotels are always smaller and usually in my experience much better kept and cleaner than their larger counterparts however when it came to the house hotel this was not the case. I was also disappointed when i went to make a cup of tea and found that the spoons were tea stained! My expectations of the house hotel were obviously too high and in the future i'll be booking my stay in galway with the G. I have previously stayed numerous times and only that the trip was last minute and they had no rooms available for both nights i would have stayed there again. Needless to say i'll not be staying in the house hotel again.

comments The house hotel is a lovely place to stay any time of the year. We come and stay in Galway every December for Christmas shopping. For the last three years we have chosen the 'House Hotel'. If you can avail of a weekend deal its pretty good value for money, its ideally located, the atmosphere and decor is great, and breakfast is served well into 11:00 am every morning so you can have a nice lay in and the rooms are are very well sound proofed. Small negative criticisms would be the size of the rooms, can get a little clattered in there. On the last two occasions we have been presented with red wine stained floor carpets and bed linen, which takes alot away from the charm of the tastily decorated rooms (big shame!). Also on this occasion (Dec. 2010 - I found a stale bread crust behind the curtains and the functionality of the impressive 'Rain-storm' shower unit was a little below standard (The switch button for main shower head and secondary hose unit was missing.) Just a few minors though and overall another successful stress free run at the Christmas shopping thanks to the convenience of the House Hotel. I'm sure We'll be back for another stay here in the near future. All the best to the House hotel management and staff.

comments Besides the lovely atmosphere and perfect location what really enhanced our stay was the genuinely warm staff, also the fact that you could sit into a lovely served breakfast with daily news papers was a treat. I was a bit late for breakfast and was only going to have a coffee and pastry but the staff were so kind to offer me more if I wanted. Lovely place, lovely staff, we will be back.

comments The only problem I had with our stay was the car parking. Can you inform me as to the rates per day. I was told on arrival that the parking ticket would be validated at reception, yet we were charged 16 euro for two days. Is this correct or was there a mistake? Can you send me a reply to clarify. comments Was somewhat disappointed with this hotel. Bedrooms were exceptionally small and the glass bathroom doors offer no privacy. Breakfast was nice but overall I was left disappointed. Bedroom decor just bad too. Horrible curtains totally out of sync with rest of room. Not good value for what it is but good location and nice bar food.

comments The night porter was most welcoming when I arrived at 1.30am after a delayed flight. After a refreshing sleep in my stylish and comfortable room I was surprised, on opening the curtains in the morning, to find myself overlooking traffic pouring past on a busy thoroughfare through the town. House Hotel has excellent sound proofing! The spacious lounge and reception area manages to be both intimate and slightly funky, which creates a stylish and relaxed atmosphere. The reception staff work at an unobtrusive desk within the lounge, which makes them accessible to guests but at the same time they manage to blend unobtrusively into their surroundings. All the staff I met were friendly, helpful and professional. During my stay I did not have the opportunity to dine at the hotel in the evening. However, their breakfast menu left me spoiled for choice! I would certainly go back.

comments Co. Louth couple stayed Sat and Sun nite for the Galway Oyster Festival Sept 09. We had a meal in the hotel on the Sat nite and it was the best medium beef I have ever ate, amazing value at 20 euro for 2 course incl free cocktail. Comfy Room 214 was lovely with great tea and coffee instant machine and a class bathroom and shower. Prefect location, only 2 minutes walk from Quays Bar. All in all 100% weekend break A++ for House Hotel staff

comments We stayed in one of the larger suites for six nights. It was very nice and the king size bed was very comfortable. A morning paper was at our door each morning. Although there was not a view from our room it was really quiet. Morning breakfast was always good. The staff was courteous and always nice. The location to shops and restaurants was great. Everything was just a block or two away. We walked almost everywhere. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will definitely stay there again when in Galway. Thank you House Hotel for a wonderful stay.

comments Overall my stay at the House Hotel was excellent. i felt that the hotel was a good value for the money, the breakfast choices were very good and the receptionists/concierges were very pleasant and helpful. My only complaint is that the shower stall was tiny. I would definitely stay here again.

comments This hotel was absolutely fabulous! The staff checked on us 2 seperate times within an hour of checking in and even brought us tarts each day. This hotel is also very close to all the shopping areas in Galway. Our stay with them was perfect. GREAT place to stay!

comments The House Hotel is superbly located. Key touist sites, shopping and restaurants are close by as is the tourist office and start point for tour buses to the country side. The hotel itself is comfortable. Rooms have good internet access, bed was comfortble. but I did miss having a bathtub.

comments We stayed at The House Hotel for w/e 18/19th April 2008 and found the hotel to be everything we expected and with very professional staff. Breakfast was excellent. Although the weather was quite cold we found the room ( 304 ) to be too warm, save some energy, and the window only opened a few cms. for fresh air. A very enjoyable stay.

comments Excellent service and lots of thought have clearly gone into getting things just right at this boutique hotel. Nice touches like the espresso machine in the bedrooms. The breakfast is also several notches above what is usual. Not a rubbery sausage or half-cooked rasher in sight.

comments We had a great time at the House Hotel. We arrived on a very wet Easter Monday and were officaly too early for check in however Jamie on reception found a room we could check into straight away, this kind of helpful and friendly service was maintained throughout our stay.

comments The House Hotel was completely different from any hotel I have ever stayed in. I would recommend this hotel to young couples. The hotel is decorated very stylishly and comfortably. The bedroom we stayed in was a nice size with a great tv! I think the small touches that this hotel provides make it outstanding from other hotels, e.g., the coffee machine in the room, the music library, locitane toiletries and the complimentary cocktail in the bar. I will definately be staying here again!!

comments Luxury and a real treat. We really enjoyed the whole experience. Friendliness from the moment we arrived at Reception, the staff in the dining room were very professional and friendly also. Our dinner on the Friday night was scrumptious. A great team all round. It was our second visit and we're already looking forward to our third!
