The best hotel we've stayed in anywhere. The service was excellant including the desk, the bell captain, and the restaurant staff. The hotel was impeccably clean, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. The lobby, the reading room, and the bar were available for guests to relax and enjoy. The food in the restaurant was exceptionally well prepared and presented both for breakfast and dinner. You couldn't ask for a better place to stay. Hopefully the new owner will maintain these high standards.

We had booked an executive double room. The room itself was perfect however, there were a couple of points that i wasn't happy with. Despite advertising a car parking service, we were told on arrival that the car park was full and were directed to a public car park. It was pouring with rain and by the time we had walked back to the hotel we were soaked. The TV at the end of our bed was broken and we were told that because it was a bank holiday weekend it could not be fixed until Tuesday - this was Saturday! Surely a hotel of this size must have had a spare somewhere. My husband had forgotten his razor and when he called reception to request a disposable razor he was told that they would see if they had one and get back to him - we're still waiting! All in all the experience was a pleasant one, but not out of the ordinary.

The hotel's location is perfect. However, the hotel itself definitely needs to be renovated. My family were also staying in the hotel and some of their rooms had water leaking in from the windows. The hotel is also quite noisy due to the fact that it is next to the train and bus station.

Absolute disaster, After been put in 3 different rooms, I checked out of the hotel. Building work was going on at the time and the place was noisy and dirty
