comments We were a group of 3 people staying in 3 seperate rooms. The experience differed depending on which room you were in. One of my colleagues could hear the people in the next room very clearly and found this quite offputting. On the otherhand, I had a lovely room and it was really quiet.

comments A lovely warm friendly atmosphere. The room was beautifully furnished and very clean. Also we were situated at the back of the hotel which was lovely and quiet overlooking a pleasant garden. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and very efficient service. Also the hotel was ideally situated for the shops and the park. Altogether we had an excellent stay and will certainly stay there next time we visit Dublin. Couldn't have been better.

comments This hotel is in a wonderful location. Just walk out the door, cross the road and walk through St Stephens Green to the centre of Dublin. The single rooms were comfortable but quite small and the curtains and the wallpaper were rather faded. But, the room was clean and warm and cosy and extremely quiet facing a lovely garden at the back. I had a great nights sleep here. I felt safe in this hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful and I will definately stay there again on my next trip to Dublin.

comments I loved staying at Staunton's. I loved the house and the view from my window over the Green. It was in a marvellous position right on the Green, which I loved walking through, and so near the centre of town. I even walked to and from the theatre one evening. The receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent. My only reservation was that the room was not soundproof, and I could hear all the noises from next door!

comments When we arrived they had overbooked and did not have the room I had reserved. They put us in a basement room for the first night promising to give us a 10% discount on the night in the basement. The rest of our stay they gave us a very nice but noisy room in the front of the hotel. The staff were very nice, but they neglected to give us the discount from the first night when we left.

comments The facilities were very basic for a hotel in Dublin, also when we went down for breakfast the next morning, there was hairy fruit sitting right beside the cereals (total turnoff) and the breakfast its self was just ok, it tasted like it had been cooked for hours.

comments The decor could have been better as well as the cleanliness of the bathroom. There were black mould spores in the bathroom over the shower and a mysterious brown smear on the bathroom wall... never want to see that when you're staying in a hotel. The toilet flush handle was incomplete (like maybe a porcelain bit should have been screwed on but was removed); the curtain liner was ripped, and the decor was dingy. Having said all that, the service from the girls at the front desk was excellent - hence the higher score. The only other downside was that breakfast on Sunday was served at 8:30am, which is somewhat late if you have a tour planned in the morning, as we did. We had the breakfast on Monday morning, and it was very nice and the staff were very pleasant. The location is excellent, and I think if management were to invest a little in smartening it up a bit more, we wouldn't bat an eye at the price.

comments Lovely house and reception staff great. However, the waiting staff for breakfast did not understand English very well and twice the wrong things were brought to the table. Also, small details were annoying, e.g. coming back to our room at the end of the day, we found that the milk pots for the tea tray had not been replaced and also, the towels had been removed and we were left with one hand towel between 2 of us. This was quickly rectified but the point is it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

comments The accomodation was very nice, breakfast of high standard as well. But, ... and it is a shame as everything else was so good, our room on the side of the avenue was very, very noisy. You really had the feeling that there was no window at all. It has spoiled a bit our 3 night overthere. This could be improved with double glazing. I guess if we would have slep on the other side, we would have rated 5.

comments We were very disappointed in our room at Stauntons. The linen was lovely and clean, but the curtains were hanging off the window. They looked dirty and had lost quite a few hooks. It gave the room a very unkempt appearance. I felt the room overall was pretty shabby, also the lounge area. THe breakfast room was nice and the breakfast was good. The location is the best thing about Stauntons. It has the potential to be an outstanding georgian Hotel, but falls short. I would not stay there again.

comments The room we were staying in - 407 - was finished in terms of build to a very mediocre standard. The room formed ppart of a new garden extension. Inter room noise was very high, doors creaked, not very peaceful at all. The room furnishings i.e. curtains etc. was finished to a very high standard but let down by the poor building finish. Would be very reluctant to return despite its excellent position in town.

comments The Staunton's Hotel is a charming little hotel in an excellent location for someone who wants to see different parts of Ireland. It is within walking distance of the touristy bars and some nice parks and the Guiness factory. It is also very close to local bus and train lines. The hotel itself is a four story hotel with about 10 rooms on each floor. My room was smallish, but had everything I needed with a private bathroom and comfortable bed. There furniture was pleasnt and there were no noticable smells in the rooms or in the lobbies. If I was to have any complaints, it would be with the bathroom. The toilet was fickle and did not always flush right and there were two occassions when I could not get the water as hot as I'd like for the shower. The toilet would flush right eventually and the shower would get hot enough later in the day. The staff at the hotel was both friendly and competant. Breakfast was very good and could be had late enough (8-10) to get me through lunch. I have no real plans to return to Dublin but if I did, I would probably stay in Staunton's again.

comments Our room was huge and airy. Great window view. Good amenities in the room and great bathroom. Downsides were: the fireplace was not as pretty as in the photos online. Hotel not close enough to a bus stop as we would have liked. There was no bathmat in the bathroom. There were paper napkins on the breakfeast table instead of cloth. Tacky. And for the type of hotel this is there should have been jam in dishes on the breakfast table - not jelly in plastic containers.
