Staff were polite and helpful and service was excellent. Location also excellent for getting to city centre, airport and for using public transport system. The hotel room was clean and very comfortable. The TV reception was a bit fuzzy on some channels but then we are not TV addicts	report this review as inappropriate

The lobby of the hotel is beautiful, but I knew it was going to be. I was more impressed by my room- after reading some reviews of very unsatisfied customers online, I was a bit scared. The hall smelled freshly painted and the room and all of its facilities were excellent. I highly recommend this hotel.	report this review as inappropriate

Having arrived late at night, not being able to find a parking space and seeing refurbishment work going on in the reception area I was fully expecting to be disappointed. I usually am with most hotels!! How wrong I was! The staff were helpful and kind. The room was beautiful, clean, the decor striking and the two huge beds in the room were extremely comfortable. I found out the next morning that we had been upgraded because there were no other rooms left by the time we arrived the night before, but also found out that even if we had booked the room that we stayed in (which was luxury) in advance it would only have cost an extra 20 EURO. Only regret is that we didn't stay longer, but we will be going back and we'll be upgrading to the executive room again!! Well worth the money.	report this review as inappropriate

The hotel is on a main road just north of the city so it is relatively easy to drive to and only 10-15min bus trip to the centre of town. Nice restaurants, cafes across the road	report this review as inappropriate

Easily accessible as we were travelling from the north on our way to the ferry which was also easy to get to; with bus service opposite hotel to get into City centre. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. We were satisfied with facilities available and our stay there.	report this review as inappropriate

First room not great but hotel was full. Staff were great and we were moved to a better room. Sleep was disturbed by being to warm and duvet was only option, which was too heavy. Otherwise everything was great and discounted room was excellent value	report this review as inappropriate

The reception area of the hotel was nice. I didn't use the bar or restraunt. I had a triple room and while I could put up with the tight space there was a lot of dirt and dust behind the radiator and the room needed revamp. The bathroom was adequate, shower pressure was great but towels were old and almost bare.	report this review as inappropriate

Hotel was being extended and renovated at time of our stay. However, apart from the limited parking due to the construction work, disruption was minor. The staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. I have stayed here before and although this time I don't think the room was as nice, this may have been because it was a smoking room chosen for my friend and I expect that this was probably one of the rooms due for renovation. I am looking forward to staying in the Skylon again as it is very convenient to the city centre, especially when travelling from the North and is good value for money.	report this review as inappropriate

Pleasant and welcoming staff. Somewhat worn-down hotel, so we understand the refurbishing plans. Easy to get to the hotel from the airport by using a regular bus.	report this review as inappropriate

I was not made aware at the time of booking that the hotel had extensive building works in progress. The room was not of a standard that was expected,and required re-furbishment.	report this review as inappropriate
