comments I was extremely pleased with the Schoolhouse. It has a lot of charm and the staff were wonderfully accommodating. When my kids flights were canceled due to a major snow storm in New York, they waved the 48 hour cancelation notice. The food was great and the bar offered numerous settings, from sitting at the bar to cozy areas where you could talk with friends. When I return to Dublin it WILL be on my list of places to stay.

comments Our stay at Schoolhouse Hotel was an absolute delight. We were there 4 nights. The staff was so helpful and gracious. The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the freshly cooked-to-order items were absolutely delicious. The location was perfect as the bus stop was just across the street.

comments Our stay at The Schoolhouse was excellent. Friendly staff, efficient service and excellent food in both the bar and the restaurant. The fixed priced menu offer in the restaurant (3 courses and a bottle of wine for 50 euros per couple) was the best meal for both quality and value that we had during our stay. Dublin is a great city - it's just a pity about the sterling/euro exchange rate at the moment. We will certainly visit Dublin again and we will definitely stay at The Schoolhouse.

comments Das erste uns zugewiesene Zimmer war "nach hinten raus" und unmittelbar über der Küche und dem kücjeneigenen Abzug. Somit hatten wir eine permanente Lärm- und Geruchsbelästigung. Für die 2. Nacht erhielten wir aber ein tolles Ersatzzimmer. Tolles Ambiente.

comments Very interesting building with interesting history in a nice neighborhood. Very friendly and helpful staff. Wireless internet is expensive and should be included in the room rate instead. Local phone calls are an extra charge and should be included in the room rate instead. The interesting, historic building presents some maintenance challenges: our downstairs room smelled a bit musty and humid before we aired it out, after which it was fine. All in all a perfectly satisfactory stay, but with a few minor warts.

comments We loved the hotel. The staff on reception were extremely friendly and made us feel at home immediately. Our room was lovely; homely and characterful, and equipped with everything we needed. We particularly enjoyed having French windows to the outside. The breakfasts were tremendous as well - an excellent choice, and enough to fill you up for most of the day. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would recommend to anyone and would go back.

comments The hotel was lovely, quirky and had a lovely charm about it. Dining room and bar are nicely designed. Room clean and spacious, bathroom had an olde worldy charm about it. Staff really helpful and friendly. Ordered sandwiches at 12 midnight after U2 concert and it was no problem. Will try and stay there again for another special occasion.

comments We had stayed in the Schoolhouse before and knew what to expect. The room was very quiet, clean and intimate, the breakfast wholesome and delicious. The staff in both the restaurant and front desk were very helpful and even provided a spare set of straighteners when my wife's had broken down! On a visit to Dublin we always try and stay here because it is literally 10 minutes walk from the city centre and 5 minutes from the RDS.

comments my only moan is having to pay for wireless internet. It was tedious and irritating. I would have rather paid more and have a free connection. Plenty of lower starred hotels provide this service. But that said what a superb hotel. Will definitely be going back and recommending to friends!

comments The location is ideal; just out of the downtown traffic but an easy walk to most all you need and the bus system is convenient. The room was very nice as was the staff. Great facilities for breakfast as well as an in house bar/restaurant. The only negatives were that we had real trouble getting wifi, even with the purchased service. Definitely a great place to stay. comments The front desk staff were fantastic. I asked for ice and a bath robe and by the time I returned to my room, both items were in it. This also goes to show that the housekeeping staff were really on top of their game. Very impressed. I will be back in December 09.

comments L'hotel si trova in un'ottima posizione in un quartiere residenziale a 5 minuti a piedi dal centro. La struttura è caratteristica ed il servizio si svolge in un'ambiente familiare. Bellissima la sala della colazione tutta in legno con il camino e la possibilità di prendere libri. Buonissima la colazione con possibilità di scegliere alla carta tra le varie scelte di piatti irlandesi. Nei vari servizi vengono offerti per il soggiorno musica internet e tv in camera. comments I stay in quite a lot of hotels for business and so I was interested in finding a hotel for a weekend away that didn't feel like a business hotel. The Schoolhouse was just lovely with a really cosy feeling. The breakfast was fantastic, the rooms were lovely, the staff were helpful and friendly, and it was great to find a hotel bar that is a popular local bar in its own right.

comments Everything we could have hoped for - warm, comfortable, helpful staff, excellent and plentiful breakfast, quiet and 'different' location by canal. We were, however, glad to have bought a 3 day 'rambler' ticket which we used to get in & out of centre as well as to/from airport (E13.30) - it was a good walk (say 30 mins) from main attractions so tended to stay out for the day.

comments The hotel is very conveniently situated, our room was very comfortable and breakfast was generous. The bathroom was too small to accomodate a bath - a good shower would abandon ye olde fittings and provide adequate basin space. While it is appropriate taht the decor should have an Arts & Crafts reference, the existing range is too cluttered and some of the colouring (eg: the corridor carpet) is garish.

Very clean and unique place to stay, just far enough out of Dublin for quiet sleep, yet close enough that it's only a 10 min trip by bus to city center.

The rooms were VERY clean and the decor and furnishings were excellent. The beds were comfortable. The location very good, away from the crowds but an easy walk to everything. comments Unique, unpretentious charm and genuinely caring service - along with delicious meals - made my stay a real pleasure. The location - a 10-minute walk from the central attractions of Dublin - is ideal: in a pleasant residential neighbourhood close to all attractions.

comments The Schoolhouse is my favorite Dublin hotel. It's location is ideal -- close to city center but not in the chaos of Temple Bar and right on the airport coach line. The staff is friendly and the pub is quite congenial. I love the neighborhood (I used to live nearby).

comments We very much enjoyed our stay at the Schoolhouse Hotel Dublin. From the moment we walked in the staff could not do enough to help us. Our room was lovely and I'm sure we will return when next in Dublin

comments Have been visiting Dublin for years and this hotel has stood out. Although not right in the centre of town, it was a short 10 minute walk, which is just what you need after a night of Irish hospitality! I thought it was excellent value. The beds were enormous as were the breakfasts. There was a great choice, from fresh fruit, cereals, full Irish to scrambled eggs and salmon. Delicious. Staff made us feel welcome and were very accommodating. They organised the biggest fresh cream birthday cake I have ever laid eyes on - we had enough to share with the whole bar. The hotel is situated next to the Canal which I recommend a walk along - it takes you away from the hubbub of the city and makes you feel as if you are in the countryside, ducks and all. A great stay.

comments I did expect a lounge of some sort but there was no seating area except the bar. The rooms were fine although a bit dark as all of them are facing the rear of the building which is onto the kitchen areas and a brick wall. No pleasent garden views here. The building was unusual and pleasant enough. It was easy access to all bus routes and the city centre.

comments As my husband and myself travel extensively throughout Ireland and the UK our stay at the Schoolhouse was quite exceptional. I would hope to stay in the Schoolhouse on any subsequent visits. A worth grade 5.

comments Great room and bed but bathroom/plumbing a little tired and in need of refurbishment. Sadly, the view from most rooms is of a concrete ramp to the service entrance. Nice resturant and bar though. Of the ten hotels I've tried in the area over the last few months this is still one of the best, despite the issues above.

comments The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The airport coach stops outside the hotel making transfer so easy. The room was comfortable in every aspect - no complaints whatsoever. It takes approx 25 minutes to walk to O'Connell Street, as a guide, which is welcome with the good food and Guiness consumed! We can recommend this hotel with no hesitation.
