comments The hotel looks great and the staff are super nice. The breakfast is delicious but you have to wait quite a while (30 min) for your order - probably worth it unless you're in a hurry.

comments My husband and I stayed for 2 nights and found the hotel to be very nice, clean and with a lovely atmosphere. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and were always quick to offer us cups of tea each time we came through the door. The room had a jacuzzi bath and a sauna which were a nice relaxing end to the day. We have stayed at the Roxford Lodge last year (on the recommendation of friends) and have already booked our next break there. I would highly recommend it.

comments Breakfast was lovely - good selection and freshly cooked. The staff I met were all very pleasant and helpful I loved all the little added touches in the room I had, such as the drinking water on tap, DVD collection, extra hangers, sauna etc. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was very quiet, so I slept well. My ONLY criticisms about my room were the lighting movement sensor in the lobby area which kept constantly switching the lights on and off and drove me mad after a while, and the hot water to the shower took an age to come through and wasn't easily controllable.

comments The suite was a really lovely place to stay. It felt very cosy & obviously the addition of the jacuzzi bath, sauna & balcony made it extra special. I think however the decor could do with a little updating; it looks slightly dated. It would have been nice if the 4 poster bed had some fabric on it too! Otherwise an enjoyable stay. Staff very friendly. Room wasn't ready on time either even though we were later than our estimated time of arrival.

comments Roxford Lodge really is fantastic on all fronts! I picked it because the other reviews made it sound like the best combination of great service and price, and it exceeded my expectations! Highlights: 1) Both the jacuzzi tub and the sauna work very well, and were a great treat to have at the end of the day. 2) The location is ideal. I didn't want to have a hotel right in the middle of the city center, as there's a lot of noise and hustle and bustle there, plus the hotels cost much more for less service. Roxford Lodge is just a 10-minute walk from the city center, located in a very nice and quiet residential neighborhood. 3) The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They are more than happy to bring you anything you need at any time, from complimentary coffee/tea, to an ironing board, to a corkscrew. When I realized I'd left my nicest dress clothes in the room after we'd left for the airport, I called the hotel and they had no problem shipping them back to me in Italy. Two days later, everything arrived! What fantastic and quick service, and they did it all extremely courteously. I would have given the hotel 5 stars before this, but that took them over the top. I will stay here again when I return to Dublin, and really urge anyone considering staying in or near the city center to pick this place. You won't be disappointed.

comments Very nice hotel, good location, good food, quiet and very friendly and helpfull staff. Bus stop right in front, bus to airport very close, maybe 100 meters, not in the middle of town, but close enough to walk. We walked everywhere but took the hop-on Hop-off bus one day to get overview and save time one day. It is not like the big chain hotels, much more personal and a unique layout. Short walk to some very nice resturants, pubs and 24 hour grocery as well. No shortage of good pubs and pub food in Dublin! We really enjoyed our stay and the in room sauna was very nice!

comments We had a very nice stay at Roxford lodge. The service was excellent, the breakfast was the best I've ever had, the room was clean, big and with more than enough facilities. And good beds. I got the impression that most of the staff worked here because they really cared about the hotel and it's guests. But there was a big difference in who we asked, the service quality could have been more consistent troughout the staff. I excpected the neightborhood to be more rural, but the short distance to the city and buses was good. The cleaning could be more sustainable.

comments My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at the Roxford Lodge Hotel. Our room was so comfortable, spacious and quiet which were the qualities we were looking for. The staff bent over backwards to provide a wonderful breakfast, give advice and schedule day tours, shows and city info, as well as provide coffee/tea service in the afternoons when we returned to the hotel. We felt pampered and well cared for by the friendly staff and would absolutely recommend this hotel to others and would stay there again whenever in Dublin.

comments We stayed at the Roxford Lodge for 3 nights in early September. The experience was outstanding. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the hotel space overall is so warm and inviting. It is a little removed from the city centre, but we like being away from the hassle of downtown. We used the city bus, and it was convenient and easy. There are several restaurants close by and we had delicious meals in two of them. The BEST thing about the hotel is the graciousness of the staff. After long days of doing the tourist thing, having tea and cookies delivered to our room was the perfect touch. We would definitely stay here again!

comments I appreciated that you were flexible with us arriving early and that you took care of my aunt while we returned the rental to the airport. Location is very convenient, to city centre, good restaurants in walking distance and Air Coach stop. Our rooms were small (not unexpected and not a problem), but very nice, comfortable & clean. Plenty of food & variety at breakfast. Thanks to Stephanie, Des & the rest of the staff for a lovely stay. We would not hesitate to recommend or return. (you do not need to include this in the review, but I found the girl who was on the later shift to be barely civil, as if we were bothering her to make any requests. Sorry, but I did not ask her name.)

comments I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at this lovely hotel in the heart of Dublin. The place is spotless, the staff is extremely polite and nothing is too much trouble. The only negative comment I could say was there are only five tables in the dining room, so a bit of a rush at breakfast, but apart from this small fact this is a place we will most certainly be visiting again 5 stars

comments Roxford lodge is a really lovely hotel, set on a grand looking road, the bus stop could not be closer to the front door. The staff were friendly and efficient providing tea and coffee on arrival even though the facilities were in the room for us. The room was clean and well decorated and the sauna and jacuzzi bath were a treat that i have not found in a hotel room before. The free secure parking at the rear of the hotel is also a rare luxury in Dublin.

We appreciated your kindness in helping us have a very early breakfast to start our trip home. I will keep your lodge in mind as a wonderful recommendation to those traveling to Dublin in the future.Thank you so much. P.S. Due to mechanical difficulty eight of our party had to stay an extra night near the airport and travel out the following day. I'm sure we all would have preferred to go back to the Roxford and its familiar faces, but I'm sure you all were full by then.

comments Roxford Lodge is a luxurious little retreat in an elegant neighborhood of beautiful and stately brick homes in the Embassy section of Dublin. One might never guess that within easy walking distance is Dublin's famous Temple Bar, Trinity College and O'Connell Street. The staff at Roxford Lodge will welcome you like long lost family members there for a visit. Their Irish breakfast is the best around and served piping hot by genteel ladies and gentlemen. I commented on the wonderful porridge oatmeal and was offered a package of it to take home. Roxford Lodge was the perfect place to end our 2 week tour of Ireland as it epitomizes all that is charming, friendly and welcoming about the Emerald Isle. I would put Roxford at the top of my list of favorite places to stay and wish I could find lodging like it everywhere I travel.

Very pleasant rooms, reasonable size and quiet. Excellent breakfasts- we developed an addiction to porrdge during our stay. Internet access for checking in online on the way home, and staff who seemed to know what they were talking about when you asked them a question! Would come back if returning to Dublin.

comments This was an excellent stay in a beautiful Hotel. The executive suit was amazingly comfortable and fit for a king (and queen). All the facillities were working perfectly and room cleaned daily on request. We enjoyed the jacuzzi, bed and multiple rooms including the computer room! The decor was very pleasing to the eye and very professional. The room was very spacious and elegant in beauty! I would recommend this stay to anyone and the price is quite good! There are easily many transport links such as a bus stop right outside the hotel and also a taxis. It is about 15 mins walk from st stephens green!

comments Myself and my boyfriend stayed here as a little get away a couple of days after valentines day, in the Executive Suite. The room was absolutely amazing and to be quite honest only for my love of shopping we would have stayed in the room for the 3 days we were there!Sauna and jacuzzi tub were brilliant and loved the little added touch of being able to watch the telly sitting in the tub!Its 2 months on now and im still saying I wish we were back there!Loads of space and everything you could need in the room!!We will definitely be staying here again and I have already recommended The Roxford Lodge to numerous people!Especially for a romantic getaway but aside from the four poster bed there is also a single bed for couple and child or even 3 people.Cant say enough good things, honestly cant wait to go back.

comments The location of Roxford Lodge was very, very good. It was a comfortable walk into the CBD and was close to the Aviva stadium and surrounding venues. The staff were very good, helpful, friendly and approachable. Breakfast, served in the breakfast room, was freshly cooked and generous. As we arrived by car, we were able to park out the back in secure car park with easy access to the hotel. The property itself was fairly secure. The rooms were well equipped and clean. Only problem was the size of the room - probably the smallest I have ever stayed in, though it there was good storage. Found the room a little stuffy but was able to open the window. Quite expensive though it was the weekend of the the St Patricks Festival and the Ireland v England rugby game at Aviva. Might have been good if breakfast was included in rate. Overall a nice place to stay, quiet area a little away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

comments I definitely have mixed feelings about staying at Roxford Lodge Hotel...one the one hand it was a nice looking hotel, however my room was quite small (which I could get over), and the jacuzzi for which I booked the room, did not work. It was too late in the evening to call the front desk. The front desk that evening when I had checked it wasn't very friendly at all. She showed me to my room and was already walking towards the door to leave while she asked me if I had any questions. She wasn't particularly pleasant when I had called to ask if I could order a soda saying that they close the lounge at 11:30pm (it was 11:40pm at this point) which is fine but it didn't say anywhere on the paper that there was a close time to getting a soda. When I went to the front desk that evening as well, I needed change for the bus (I only had a 5 euro), she said that she couldn't give me any change and looked back down at her computer. Perhaps the safe locks itself at a certain point in the evening, but I had no trouble in the morning getting change after paying for my accommodations the night before. The lady at the front desk in the morning was MUCH more helpful and very pleasant and I liked her very much. She helped me check out and mailed some items for me because she noticed my hands were full of suitcases and bags and I wouldn't be able to drop it in the mailbox. Overall, the location is ok, and the breakfast was lovely, but I don't know if I'd stay here again...it would be a toss up. Also, please note, that your directions on the website from heuston train station are incorrect. After getting off the DART at the station by Aviva Stadium, you need to go LEFT when you exit and not RIGHT. I had to walk several blocks with my luggage only to realize I was walking in the wrong direction. Perhaps including a bit of a map would help some.

comments We stayed at Roxford Lodge Hotel during a short city break to Dublin. The hotel is in a superb location, quiet yet in close proximity to the city centre and there are loads of bars & restaurants only a short stroll along the road. There's even a bus stop right outside the front door which was really convenient for getting around. The room was great, comfortable with the usual amenities + your own sauna which was pretty unique! The bathroom was modern with jacuzzi. Our room also had access to a courtyard at the back which was nice. They do a brilliant breakfast at the Roxford Lodge Hotel, full Irish is definitely recommended but there was plenty of choice if you'd normally go for something lighter. Roxford Lodge Hotel offers everything a large chain hotel rarely delivers, namely: character, staff who are friendly and efficient and accommodation which is like home-from-home. Thank you, we'll be back!

comments The Roxford has it all: responsive service, clean rooms with a suana and jacuzzi tub (not to mention the heated towel rack), terrific location only a few blocks to city action (and a lovely walk at that), and a fabulous sitting room with a fireplaceand coffee or tea service on demand. What more could a traveler want? I'll be back as its a great base to explore Dublin from! comments Although we arrived 4 hours late ( the time it took to drive from Dublin Ferry Port ) in a snow storm the warm welcome with tea and toast cheered us up immensely. The breakfast next morning after a lovely nights rest gave us strength to face the departure in yet another snow storm and gridlocked traffic. The staff were great. One slight niggle - could you make it clear that access to the excellent parking is via the lane behind the hotel which is best accessed from Haddington Road. We crossed the Haddington Rd. junction and were unable to turn around in the gridlocked traffic, resulting in yet more delay and stress.

comments The staff are so amazingly friendly, I felt like I was staying at a relative's house! I loved the room, comfy bed and the sauna/jacuzzi. The only complaint I might have is I was put on one of the lower rooms facing the rear of the building, and as a single woman alone, I was a bit nervous about a break-in. My fault for not asking for a different room, but might be something to consider for later. I am in Dublin often for work -I'll be back and will stay again! Thanks! K

comments Excelente desayuno.

comments Staff was wonderful. I loved the ability to have tea in the evening. The lodge was easy to find. The room was well equiped. Having a sauna and jacuzzi was fabulous. The only reason I assigned a 4 rather than a 5 was that the pillows were really hard (that said, I never inquired if others were available) and it was a further walk from the main dublin locations than I expected. I believe the website said 10 minutes; I think 20 is more accurate. Many thanks for a great stay. I would visit again and would recommend the estalishment to others.

comments We were very pleased. After spending almost two weeks in a chilly cottage in County Clare (not a complaint), we needed someplace warm with a jacuzzi for our last night. And since we were flying out of Dublin, it makes sense to stay in Dublin so we're not scrambling and rushing and speeding down the motorway to get to the airport. Next time we're in Ireland, we plan on more than one night in Dublin -- and at the Roxford Lodge. Warm, cozy, excellent service, secure parking (though next time we'll take the bus into city centre, rather than walk). Very pleased.

comments We were a group of 5 friends visiting Dublin for the weekend and we had a great time, not least thanks to the Roxford Lodge. The hotel was ideally situated at walking distance from the city center, St. Stephen's Green, Trinity College, etc. The rooms (115 and 120) were very comfortable and quiet - the executive room even had a sauna and a whirlpool; the tiny sauna in the three-person room was unusable, though - and the service was great. Prices (including yummy Irisch breakfast) were very reasonable too. We highly recommend!

comments We spent 2 nights in October and were very pleased with the accomodations. The rooms were not large enough to have a gathering however we did not feel restricted in the room. The premises was very nice and well kept. The full irish breakfast was excellent. I was happy to have the internet accesibility in the lounge and I understand there was wifi service which was available to all the guests. The location was about a mile or so from trinity college, requiring a short walk through what we felt a safe area in the daytime and even at midnight. If you did have a car, a gated guest lot was in the back. We were very happy with the Roxford Lodge Hotel.

comments The Roxford Lodge was great. The staff at the Roxford were very friendly and made sure we had everything we need. Our room was very cute - with a beautiful patio just outside. Beds were comfortable and the room was very quiet. The only strange thing was staff only gave us one restaurant recommendation in the area. Seems a little fishy that only one place would be provided, as we walked around and there were a few nice spots just a couple blocks away. My only suggestion is that Roxford is there to serve thier guests, not some restaurant. Give more recommendations!

comments Roxford Lodge was a beautiful hotel with the best staff that I have ever encountered in the service industry. They were friendly and always going out of their way to do extra things for you. The rooms were kept immaculate and very luxurious for such a great price. The breakfasts were also impressive - a much wider variety of options than I've ever seen - and I'm vegetarian! (Plenty of meat options as well!). The location is also perfect - a few blocks from the hustle and bustle but certainly still walkable and the quietness was refreshing at night. We would definitely stay again!

comments One night stay on 02/10/2010; double standard room. We were extremely happy with the Roxford Lodge. The room was small but perfectly formed and the 2 person sauna was a luxurious addition. The staff were incredibly helpful and (as ever) it was the little touches which made our stay exceptional, from being provided tea/coffee in the delightful reception room while waiting for our rooms to be made up, to having free wi-fi access and being given a large umbrella to use when we headed out to our restaurant on a blustery Dublin evening. The breakfast was also very good and we enjoyed the selection of al a carte items which were freshly made for us (having real maple syrup with the french toast was a particular treat!). I would certainly recommend the Roxford Lodge to my friends and will be returning to it next time I am in Dublin!

comments I learned about Roxford Lodge from good reports on Tripadvisor.com and was very pleased with the choice. If I ever get back to Dublin, I'll certainly stay again. We were well looked after when my travelling companion felt miserable with a cold and stayed in for a day. Excellent accommodation, great breakfast, a good price, and lovely staff.

comments The Hotel is just beautiful, It has such character, is on a beautiful tree lined quiet street and the service from everyone we had dealings with was first class. The room was beautiful and the jacuzzi and sauna a real treat. I would not consider staying anywhere else. Well done and keep up the good work.

comments Extremely clean rooms and gorgeous decor. The breakfast was delicious and there were so many options to choose from! The cute sauna in the room was a nice touch, too. Would definitely come back - a quieter neighbourhood than other places in Dublin, but within walking distance of the sights!

comments Couldn't have asked for a better hotel. Room was fantastic, having your own sauna just made it even better! We had breakfast included in our stay and it was delicious, the staff couldn't have done more for us, constantly offering us more drinks and food. The hotel was a nice walking distance from the main city centre but there was bus stops directly outside the hotel if you didnt want to walk. Overall the stay was fantastic and if we ever stay in Dublin again, we would definitely come back here.

comments I am a native of Dublin but now live abroad so I am obliged to stay in a hotel in Dublin when visiting. The Roxford Lodge has been my best kept secret for years now and I simply love the place. Firstly, it is incredibly convenient to get to from the airport. The airport shuttle bus drops you off about 200 metres from it on the beautiful tree-lined Northumberland Road. They also have parking but this is slightly more convoluted so check with the hotel how to access it. The Lodge itself is homely, clean as a mint and very conveniently located for THE Dublin experience. A short bus ride (5 minutes) from across the road drops you on Nassau Street (I euro 25 cents!!) and the city is your oyster from there on in. I usually walk back as it clears the head and sets me up for the tremendous full Irish breakfast the next day. Every guest I saw had a big grin on their face knowing that they had hit the jackpot on this stay. The staff are incredibly personable and you never feel that you are in a hotel nor do they impinge on your freedom to party either!! So it with a heavy heart that I let my precious secret out into the public domain and risk the place being booked up for the next 10 years. Still I promised the lady a truthful review so here it is. Please dont stay there as I want it all to myself but if you must go then you will soon have that smile that comes from knowing you made the right choice and then some! I envy you!

comments Recommended. Very clean and comfortable. Personnel very eager to please. The individual sauna in the room was an unusual and welcome touch (it is just possible to fit 2 people inside!). The "jacuzzi" was actually a normal-sized bath-tub with massaging water-jets (similar to the very first tubs ever made by the Jacuzzi company), so only really practical for one person at a time. Location: a short bus-ride (or an easy walk) from the center of Dublin, with a bus-stop right in front of the hotel and a bus passing every few minutes. Secure parking behind the hotel.

comments My stay in the triple room was lovely I could not fault my the room in any way it was perfect with loads of room.. However my dad and brother shared a twin room and unfortunately they found the room extremely small and stuffy for two adults. They felt there was very little space in the room and no room to walk around the room.

comments Roxford lodge is the place to go if you are looking to have a relaxing weekend away, or a relaxed few days after shopping, or even a relaxed business trip. We stayed in the suite and it was spectacular! It was three stories of a room and we couldn't have asked for more! A jacuzzi that fits two people, a sauna that fits up to eight people, our own bar, a conservatory area with a computer and printer. The girl at reception whom we think was American gave excellent service and nothing was too much to ask of her. Overall it was the best hotel we have stayed in, not only in Dublin but anywhere we have been and we do travel alot. If you are visiting Dublin for any reason i would highly recommend this hotel!

comments The location of the Lodge is absolutely lovely, and very close to the centre; the room is very clean, comfortable and furnished with good taste (loved the little lights on the top od the double bed, that looked like a romantic starry sky!), it wasn't as large as we had expected (we had a triple room), but the spaces were very well optimized. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was rich and delicious, and served in a cosy, quaint room with big windows that looked over a garden and the beautiful red-brick houses on the opposite side of the road. We really enjoyed our stay at the Roxford Lodge, and we would absolutely recommend it!

comments Overall, I was very happy to stay in the hotel. I did enjoy the sauna! I think it was a unique selling point! Not only the sauna I also liked the fact that there was a fax machine, a big nice TV, a comfy big bed, a sawing kit... for us! Moreover, your breakfast was really good because you acutually made it for me. It was not already made and style like help yourself. It was warm and fresh! However I found a small disappointment as well. The tap of the bath was broken, I had to take it out and put it back in manually to drain water and full the bath tab up when I was trying to enjoy the jacuzzy. But I am sure this is a minor error so that you can fix it pretty quickly for guests.

comments My husband and I stayed in room 109 for 2 nights and the shower design in that bathroom was not acceptable. The drain for the shower was right on the tiled bathroom floor - there was no designated partition for the shower. After a shower the entire bathroom floor stayed wet for hours. If you went into the bathroom an hour after a shower your feet got wet. I thought it was funny that they had a bath mat in the bathroom - it would have been soaked in water if it was left on the floor. Otherwise, the entire staff couldn't have been nicer. The tea service was wonderful - anytime of the day. I did complain about the shower and was offered another room after the first night. My husband didn't want to gather up all our stuff littered around the room and we left so early the next morning so we did stay in that room for 2 nights. The room was also small. I would recommend the hotel, but avoid room 109.

Tea served generously in the parlor just off the reception area. Excellendt Irish breakfast. Rooms are clean, contempory and comfortable, and come with jetted jacuzzi tubs and a dry sauna-nice touches. Easy access to the City Center by walking (10 minutes to Merrion Sq., 15 to St. Stephen's Green and Grafton St., 20 to minutes to Trinity College) or via several bus lines that run on Northumberland Road. One block from an Air Coach stop. We recommend the Roxford Lodge without hesitation.

comments Lovely hotel, room was very nice & beds comfortable. Breakfast was lovely but unfortunately floors in dining room area were being sanded on the morning we were there so it was pretty noisy but otherwise a lovely stay. We were at the front of the building so could hear some of the noise down in the street but that is to be expected if you are staying in a big city.

comments Great value, away from the congestion and noise of Temple Bar, a small b&b-like hotel in a very nice part of town. We bought a bus pass and used it the 3 days we were there – a bus stop to the 4a and 7 and several other buses is literally on the doorstep (coming from the center of town, signal for a stop right after you cross a small canal. One main4a/7bus stop out to the hotel is right in the middle of the O'Connell Bridge. It's about a 10 minute ride.) Our room was upgraded (I'm thinking it was 118). We didn't eat breakfast there, which would have been extra, but it smelled good. There's a computer/internet available to use in the sitting room. Definitely would recommend it.

comments The Roxford lodge was a fabulous, quirky little hotel, full of character. We enjoyed an anniversary weekend in the Executive Suite which boasted it's own Spa area, Jacuzzi and Sauna. Complimentary wine, chocolates and Fresh flowers greeted us, which was just lovely. The room was thoroughly clean although some of the furnishings a little dated and tired. the curtain around the four poster bed for example was looking quite scraggy. However it did not detract from our stay in anyway. A computer with internet access and printer is provided in the Executive Suite as well as a full fitted kitchen including all mod cons, which was a bit strange but certainly adds to the quirkiness. The staff were attentative, providing free tea and biscuits everytime we returned from some sightseeing. Breakfast was absolutely mouthwatering. The Irish breakfast is a must but most definately surpassed by the french toast with bacon and maple syrup. A fabulous stay at this hotel means we will most definately return, scraggy bed curtain or not!

comments I cannot say enough about the staff, in particular: Agnes and Stephanie, who went out of their way so many times for us, such as making reservations for us (i.e., Riverdance, Jameson's Distillery tour, etc.), I stopped counting (really!). One example: we missed our connection for a bus pick up near the Roxford for a bus tour of Dublin and the south coast; upon hearing our plight, Agnes dropped what she was doing, called the tour company to tell them that we were on our way and then arranged for transportation; we made the tour, which was great! (Thank you, Agnes!) Stephanie wss equally engaging and helpful; they took the stress out of the trip. Being located on a residential street is wonderful, notwithstanding the infrequent neighborhood noises. The facilities were spotless and well maintained. I enjoyed the small sauna in our room; for me, it was a perk that helped me unwind from the long, but enjoyable days. The cost is more than reasonable. We chose the breakfast option. We enjoyed the personal touch at breakfast by the staff (Agnes greeeted us each day), its quality and quantity too. I feel it was very much worth the extra cost. The staff, facilities, cuisine, proximity to transportation and nearby central Dublin make the Roxford a bargain for the traveler. We will definitely stay there again, if given the chance.

comments The Roxford Lodge Hotel is the perfect place to stay in Dublin. My husband, sister and I stayed there the weekend of the U2 Concert in Dublin. Their website is extremely informative and up-to-date. The staff is exceptionally friendly. The rooms were spotless and very luxurious. Considering the fact that we were there on one of the busiest weekends (U2), we were exceptionally pleased at the hotel's affordable rates. It is a gem of a find!

comments Our purpose for coming to Dublin was to see U2 at Croke Park on 24th and 25th July 09. The hotel was lovely and peaceful, an ideal location to return to after two excellent (and loud) concerts! We also liked the fact that the hotel was walking distance into the centre of Dublin and a short taxi ride to Croke Park. The room was like a sanctuary - comfy beds, lovely bathroom and everything you would expect. We would definately stay here again next time we visit Dublin and have already recommended the hotel to friends who are thinking of visiting Dublin. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were to die for! Thanks for making our visit to Dublin one to remember!

comments The Roxford Lodge is a very interesting hotel. The owners have made the most of a very small space. Our own room--a three-person room (one double/queen and a single) was fit into a very small and difficult angled space. It was too small. If someone was siting at the desk, someone would have to climb over the bed to get to the other side of the room. The desk chair, in fact, was so close to the bed that a person sitting at the desk (where the internet connection is--so there was a reason why someone might be sitting at the desk) had to angle the chair to sit down or get up. Although the sauna was a nice touch, for us (and we think for any party of three that has one medium/large suitcase each), the sauna eliminated valuable storage for suitcases and personal items. We used the sauna for luggage storage because we had to. But the room was charming: an over-the-bed headboard nightlight (?) with little stars shining through, a very efficient/tiny bathroom (needed one more shelf), and a patio door (unfortunately with frequent smoking by the workers outside). In all, we liked the hotel and we very much liked the staff. One important addition would help immensely. It was our first visit to Dublin and the staff were not versed or well-prepared for concierge services. I'm sure that the hotel wants to promote possibilities for out-of-town guests and if so, they will need to get training, self-education, etc. I think also that this will be even more important because the location is about a 15-minute walk to the centre of town and so, unlike hotels in the middle of Dublin, where you can get a feel for the city just by walking out of your hotel, there will be more of a need for guests to have a sense of where to go and how to get there.

It was a wonderful room...far exceeded my expectations. We were served tea and coffee whenever we wanted and everybody was friendly and welcoming. The location was good too. A short bus ride away and it stops right outside the hotel. These buses go on into the night. Apparently it's walkable too. We didn't eat there so i cant comment on that i'm afraid, but everything else was perfect.

A short walk to the main part of town, with great bus services running all hours and an airport bus stop very close by, this was a great stay. Comfy beds, pillows and lovely clean room. Also loved the comp tea service! Would def stay again if I had to visit the city :)

Overall, I was very happy with the cleanliness, staff and hotel. The jacuzzi tub was a much needed respite after a trans continental plane trip.

comments They treated me like a queen! They deliver tea and biscuits to your room at any time. The breakfasts were made to order; lots of choices of cereal with a couple of juice choices, fruit, yogurt, and plenty to eat. The staff were extremely cordial, and they let me use the internet in the lounge even after I had checked out. Well worth it!
