comments I booked the Riverhouse hotel despite the bad reviews for our recent trip to Dublin. Here's the deal - we are a couple in our 30's who were lucky enough to have a weekend away WITHOUT our small children, who enjoy partying and late nights when on vacation. We wanted to be in the center of the action. Well, the Riverhouse did not disappoint! Located in the center of Temple Bar on a little side street, it is right next to all the pubs, clubs, and restaurants. We were able to walk everyewhere - including the sites like Dublin Castle, Chirst Church, and the Guinness Storehouse! We were on the 3rd floor of the hotel so the noise from the club downstairs, Mezz, was not heard - just noise from the crowds outside which for us, was a non-issue. We knew we would be taking part in the noise and we were so tired after taking full advantage of the area - we had no problems getting sleep! The hotel is old and a little run down. BUT - the place is very clean and comfortable, the hotel staff is very helpful, and the irish breakfast in the morning was nice - lots of food! If you are looking for a fancy room, or have small children with you, this is not the place for you - perhaps you need a 4-5 star hotel. But, if you want a nice, clean, friendly place to crash while enjoying Dublin, the Riverhouse is a great choice!!! We will definately be back....

comments This was my second visit to the hotel and will not be my last. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the night porter remembered me from my first visit even as to how many had been in the party. The full breakfast meant that I did not need to eat anything else until the evening. Although the bar was loud I could not hear it in my room, although I was on the third floor so maybe that helped. If you want to be near Temple Bar than this is the hotel for you

comments It IS true, the noise from the in-house bar will keep you awake until the early hours of the morning - unless you come equipped with earplugs. However, the location and price of the room, combined with a good breakfast and the attention to detail on behalf of the staff, make this hotel a worthwhile choice.

comments Rroom was small, but just fine to us. Housekeeper did her job nicely, bed was made and the towels was changed every day. Bathroom was big and clean, but little cold, bedrooms was very warm. Weeknights were very guiet, in friday night it was much more noisy, but we knew that, so didn´t really care. We lived on the first floor and we heared some music from the bar downstair to our room, so if you are light sleeper, ask room from upper floors. After all; breakfast was great, customerservice friendly and hotel in the heart of the city, can you ask more. Thanks you, we fell in love to Dublin!

comments Great location in the heart of Temple Bar, so a bit noisy at times (but what do you expect, it's Temple Bar!) Really enjoyed the breakfasts - good quality and value for money. Rooms a bit tired decor-wise but otherwise very clean. All have ensuite, tea/coffee making facilities, tv & hairdryer. Would definitely go back there again.

Lovely breakfasts, had no problems sleeping as worn out each night by sightseeing but rooms were noisy in the evenings so not for people who have trouble sleeping. Small rooms but only there to sleep so not a problem. Very good value for money.

comments The Riverhouse Hotel was very easily found and the staff both helpful and very friendly. It was ideally placed for both daytime sightseeing and the wonderful night life of the Temple Bar area of the City. The rooms were clean and adequate as a base. The food both at breakfast and the very reasonably priced dinner menu were delicious. I would not recommend it to the more mature vistitor only because of the live music bar directly beneath the bedrooms. We however would have no hesitation in returning to the Riverhouse Hotel. Right in the heart of Temple Bar with a professional staff and excellent breakfast. comments This hotel was really great. It was so perfectly located in the Temple Bar and near sites in walking dsitance like Trinity, the castle, we even walked to Guinness. The staff was really freindly and helpful. They had room service with delicious and affordable food, which saved my night. The breakfast was also delicious and so filling I couldn't even eat it all. It was also kid-friendly. My children enjoyed their stay a lot. Also, they have a night club too. I was worried we would hear it and be up all night, but we didn't hear a thing. We slept great. Thanks for such a wonderful time. We'll be back again.
