comments I found the Regency a comfortable and friendly hotel offering good value for money with great leisure facilities in which to unwind. Areas for improvement would be in communications between the front desk and house-keeping, so that everyone knows the length of your stay; a better informed front desk regarding the hotel's great offers on the internet (e.g. free upgrade of room if available, etc.) and the offer of free parking for guests, rather than the 10 euro charge per day charge. But all in all, a pleasant stay, to be repeated.

comments The family room, breakfast and pool are great and are the main reason we stay. The bar is poor and quite dirty. Our kids moved the couch cushion and you could feed someone with what was in there. The bar staff were excellent and we had fantastic quick service so clearly were aware of kids needing the drink now and not in 10 minutes. Overall good, bar needs a good clean up.

comments All was great service, room, price, coditions. Nearly nothing to complain, I even asked to check out slightly later and the stuff had lots of understanding about that. I asked if my luggage can be kept for about two hours. Well found my bags on a trolley in a corridor 3 hours later still in the same place. Was scared to death if my passport both with other documents were missing. That last experience spoilt the erlier pleasure a lot. Except this thing excellent

comments We have stayed in the Regency before and were always satisfied. This time is was very disappointing. The first room looked like a room from a scary movie. Heater didnt work, window wouldnt close, bathroomdoor wouldnt close, dirty stains and smells in room and carpet, big holes in the walls and locked away somewehere in a corner at the end of the hallway (3rd floor). After we complained we were offered a new room which was to our satisfaction. We stayed for 4 days and every day we had to get a new key (card) because the door didnt accept the same card 2 days in a row.

comments This hotel did not represent very good value for money. 79 euro, excluding breakfast,is unrealistic pricing for a hotel of this rating in present day Ireland. The bedroom carpet was extremely frayed and the wash hand basin was badly cracked. On the plus side, conference facilities were good and the staff were pleasant and friendly. However,Iwould not wish to return to stay in this hotel

comments Stayed at The Regency Hotel in Drumcondra with my partner 21-24 December 2010. Close to the airport, 10 minutes drive and a bus journey from dublin city centre. Lovely hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room with a great powerful shower. Breakfast for 10 euro, which was worth it when it is all you can eat, continental and cooked. Nice bar. Only ate/drank in it on last night but wish we had been there more than once as it was a good atmosphere. I had sausage and mash - this was very nice, try it! There was a nice pub in Drumcondra - Fagan's. I recommend this if you want to get out of the hotel for something to eat. About 15 minutes walk from the hotel or hop on the bus. It was by chance that we went in here and I had the best lasagne that I have ever tasted! Definitely recommend this hotel, for parents with children or just couples. If we stay in Dublin again we will most likely stay at the Regency Hotel as we were both very impressed with it. Thank you.

comments I was , as I am always impressed by the standard and value of the Regency. The rooms are always clean , and the staff friendly. However I was not impressed by having to pay 10euro for parking. This is the first time this has happened and the company of which Iam a director uses your hotel on a regular basis. I feel you have to look at the policy of charging guests for the use of the carpark as it adds to the price of the stay. If I had been aware I may have chosen another hotel.

comments The room was above average size, very warm with controlable heat . The bar staff were particularly pleasant, and recognised you on your second visit. For the money, even at the higher weekend rate it represents excellent value for money plus the facility of the swimming pool. I have no allegiance to the staff or management whatsoever. I consider some of the negative comments left by previous guests are totally unjustifiable.

comments we had a lovely stay at regency for 3 nights. i know it has had millions spent on it but the rooms still very dated so doubt the money was spent here bathrooms maybe had make over and the room were spotless. the staff were all lovely. The bar food was good too. we ate in restaurant one evening and the food was super too as it came with the package so were not expecting too much but we were pleasantly supprised the food was super. However this is one area needs work the restaurant serves as the breakfast room too so the hot plate units all sitting out etc, we were one of only three tables so felt lost in this large area.... a soloution would be to have some sort of portable partion put up in evening this would create a much better ambeiance i think they should really try work this restaurant , use that front room on nights that it not used in private bookings when small numbers are only booked for restaurant, it has such potiential . for what we paid i say a bargin for dublin and we parked our car in the carpark and usedd the bus,, One thing there should be no charge for parking your car when staying at hotel but after reading reviews about a charge into the pool area etc and this is now no longer they may stop or reduce the carpark charges, get that evening restaurant running to its full potential and that will cover car park charge..

comments Location and enterance to the hotel were very inviting and reception staff were very pleasant both on arrival and checkout. Getting use of the fitness facilities was great and the children enjoyed the use of the swimming pool. We ate in JJ's Diner and food was good. Only down side was being in a room with an ajoing door to the room next door which had no means of being soundproofed and doors being continally slammed around us meant for a not so pleasant nights sleep.

comments This is our 2nd time to stay at your hotel and found the experience fairly enjoyable. The Bar Food was very nice but i felt that the choice of food offered from the menu was very limited. The atmosphere was also very good and found the staff on arrival very welcoming. We also went to the adult dancing and enjoyed it immensely. Although we availed of the special rate advertised, we found the room well below what we were expecting (regardless of what offer was on) and really tainted and spoiled short break. All in all we had a good time, and would recommend your hotel, but please do something about the room!!!! don't downgrade when you lower the rate. Regards, Michael Hurley

Our breakfast was cold, the window in our bedroom need replacing and a fashion show was being held so quite noisy on the first night of our stay. A courtesy warning of this would have been appreciated. Also it was not explained that to use the leisure facilities required extra payment for a membership. Very disappointing.

comments During our stay we were accommodated in the older part of the hotel. We had to contend with noise as the construction work was taking place and although I accept that the refurbishent is needed it was not the relaxing weekend break I expected when the joiners started hammering nails at 8 am. However, with the state of the decor, carpet and bedding in our room it is certainly not before time and I'm sure it will improve greatly when finished. I just wished we were advised beforehand. Restaurant and leisure complex and friendly staff made up for the disappointment of the room.

comments the hotel itself is old and run down but it is being refurbished at the moment so it is understandable that no money is being spent on the older part. The new leisure centre is fabulous and wonderful for the kids. Food is good and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Very close to the airport and most guests seem to be on short stay. We are a family of six and we were on seperate floors not ideal. Good value but we wouldn't stay again until the refurbishment is complete.

comments My stay was extremely relaxing. All the staff are helpful and professional. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and the food was excellent. The hotel is located about 30 minutes walk from the city centre. I would highly recommend this hotel and would hope to stay there again.

comments We were staying at a hotel that was doing extensive renovations - to be exact - to the room right next door to the room we stayed in. We complained to reception but they were not helpful. I had my fiance from America with me and I brought him up to Dublin. I was never so embarrassed in all my life as it showed up Irish "hospitality"!! I will not recommend that hotel to anyone, I'm afraid.

comments Online the hotel looked very regal and updated and beside the workout and pool facilities, the hotel needed some upgrades. The service was very good and the atmosphere was loveley however and I would stay there again when in Dublin. I am looking forward to the many upgrades the hotel is making.

comments A large extension to the hotel is currently being built. My bedroom window looked out onto the new extension approx 10 feet away! As builders were there throughout the day, I was never able to open my curtains and let any daylight in, unless I wanted zero privacy. From the website the hotel looked clean but 'frayed at the edges' and this was exactly how it was. The staff were very pleasant and the rooms cleaned promptly each morning. For the price, and as I was there on a business trip, the hotel was fine. However, for holiday accommodation it would be a very bad choice. Also if travelling from the UK, don't try to pay by cash in £ sterling. Their exchange rate is so extortionate that to do so would have cost almost £50 more than by credit card.

comments Had a pleasant stay regards the interior of the hotel, the only problem i had on this occasion and past visits havin stayed in the regency on many occasions is that we have always been put into a room overlooking an untidy roof/development it would have been a lot pleasanter if we had been given a front view room as there are those avaliable. Staff were very helpful and friendly, and would visit again. gerald mcgovern

comments This hotel was a lot better than i had expected!Due to the price and the fact i had only seen a very blurred picture of the hotel i was expecting something very basic and only just bareable. In fact i was very impressed. My check in was handled very quickly and efficiantly and within minutes i was on my way to my room which was equally impressive. Travelling by myself i had booked a single room and was only expecting a very small room, however i walked in to what i expect is actually a tripple room (containing a double bed as well as a single bed). I expect this isnt your average occurance and possibly just what they had available but i certainly wasnt going to complain. Especially with the view. It was spectacular. Being in the outskirts in a more residential area there were no other tall buildings to contend with i just had views of greenery with a few house dotted in and large hills in the background! Lovely. The staff were also nice though house keeping were a bit persistant in the morning before i was ready to leave. Breakfast was a little confusing as you had no instructions on what to do and just had to work it out yourself but the staff were kind and the food was very good. Check out was also a breeze and they even called a taxi for me. Very helpful.
