comments It is very difficult for me to comment on my stay as the hotel were forced to transfer me to another hotel. I appreciate it was due to circumstances outside their control. It would have been preferrable if they had phoned us to tell us of such changes, the second hotel had car parking facilities, we could then have brought our car.

comments North Star Hotel's location is excellent. The hotel staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help especially when it came to organising bus tours and excursions. The hotel itself was showing its age a little, and the rooms are very basic but otherwise i would stay there again.

comments Room was good , would recommend . would return and stay again , only flaw was parking and the 5 euro charge per night . the charge is ok but if i had not read the hotel information book which i generaly don't when i stay in hotels i would not have been aware of it and i dont like hidden charges . only for that i would have given the north star a 5

comments The hotel was fine. However, we asked for non-smoking and somehow the foul odor of cigarrette smoke overcame the room in the evening.

comments It was clean and provided good services but I'm not sure that it was worth the money. Also, it is right beside a train station so it can be noisy in the morning and evenings.

comments This Hotel has everything you need to enjoy even a short-stay - I'd recommend it and use it again myself. Don't be put off by the old comments shown here - a lot of improvements are apparent. You don't even get any disruption from the busy location it enjoys right in the heart of Dublin

comments I stayed in room 212 for four nights. It is at the same level as the train tracks. Trains pass every few minutes day and night. It was impossible to sleep at night but the staff keep the rooms very clean. Reception staff did not want to know about problems. Overall the hotel is very dated but the staff in the breakfast room and bar try very hard.

comments Whereas the accomodation in the North Star Hotel was clean and tidy, our overall satisfaction regarding our stay was poor. The water pressure from the shower in our room was poor and there were no ironing faclities provided in our room. The quality of food and staff efficiency and friendliness in the breakfast dining room was good but the experience of eating in the evening dinner dining room was extremely poor. Having booked to eat our evening meal for 7 pm on the night of 5th july my wife and I as well as 2 other couples were left waiting out in the hotel lower foyer for 20 minutes even though there was pleanty of space in the dining room. The staff were polite but appeared to be in a hurry to herd people into and out of the dining room as quickly as possible. The quality of the food was extremely poor with most courses appearing to be made up of frozen products. My wife found their seafood starter very strange when it contained a portion of tinned salmon. As to desert it was impossible to eat the supplies cheesecake which had been frozen; the base of the cheesecake was gooy because of the liquid it had sat in as it defrosted. We were most unhappy in the dinner dining room when we were publically asked for our dinner voucher feeling that the impression would be it was a free meal. We had paid for our meal as part of the package. Overall we were disapointed with our stay in the North Star Hotel in Dublin, it did not represent quality nor good value for money which has not been our experience before in other hotels we have stayed in around the country.
