comments Unfortunately I was ill during the months of September and October and had to cancel my booking AND miss the George Michael concert which was the purpose of our visit to Dublin! I look forward to visiting your hotel in the future as I have had great reviews from friends that have stayed with you. Please email with any deals that you may have in the future. Many thanks Claire McGuile.

comments We had a brilliant two nights at the North Star. The room and services were fantastic. As you know there was no water or electricity during the second day of our stay. This was the only problem but we understood that it was out of your hands and we would like to congratulate the staff on their work during this time especially one man who had been working all day and was still there at 12 o clock that night running up and down the stairs delivering room service including myself in room 767.

comments Stayed here on the 25th October 2011. I was goin to Lee Evans concert in the o2 arena. On arrival to the hotel me and my boyfriend noticed there was a problem with the hotels electric. The floods and terrible weather had affected the electricity to the hotel and they had a power cut. This did not bother us as we understood that this was not the hotels fault. The staff were trying there best to accommodate people people on arrival. While we were waiting the staff offered us complimentary drinks. Very much appreciated :) The room was different to the one we booked but this was not a problem. The room was over looking to the train but we did not mind. The room was really nice and was very spacious. The beds were very comfortable. We also had breakfast the next morning and this was quite delicious. The shuttle bus to the o2 was a great help and was not over priced. When we got back from the concert we were abit hungry and ordered food at reception and they then brought the food up to our room which was great. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we would definitely be back again if we are up for another concert :)

comments Brilliantly friendly staff, very prompt check-in and check-out. We stayed in a premier room which was very comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. It was also lovely to have use of the premier lounge with complimentary tea/coffee/water and snacks. The breakfast was great, and the service also brilliant. Overall couldn't find fault, a very enjoyable stay, will definately be returning and have recomended the hotel to friends.

comments Our only comment would be that the shower was scalding hot and there was no way of turning the temperature down that we could see meaning that we couldn't use the shower. comments Booked the northstar hotel as a weekend break for my wife's birthday, was a bit concerned after reading some of the reviews, but no need to have worried. Booked premier club suite on hotel website, on arrival, reception staff very helpful & courteous, checked in & went up to suite, everything was as described on website, very clean & bed was very big & comfortable !!!! Would recommend booking suite as little extra's are included, free wi-fi, safe, fridge in room & access to premier club lounge on top floor with complimentary bottles of water, tea/coffee, hot chocolate & biscuits !!!! (perfect for relaxing after a long day out) Breakfast is excellent & with great choice of food, staff very friendly & helpful. Hotel location is great, only 10 minute walk to O'Connell street & temple bar. All in all a fantastic weekend,Thank You Northstar

comments I didn't have any expectations of how the hotel would be as it was more or less a last minute thing. Very happy to say i was plesantly surprised. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. The room was fresh clean and tidy. Plenty of tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Not your normal 1 or 2 teabags or sachets of coffee. The food in the bar was lovely and very very reasonably priced. All in all i had a lovely stay in the north star and would most certainly return again.

comments I stayed with a total party of six people. We were very happy that we were all together and each bedroon was next door to one another which is hard to achieve when staying with a larger party! The bedrooms were comfortable and very clean as was the bathroom. We all had a good nites sleep. There was no noise and our beauty sleep was never interrupted lol! The staff were very pleasant and helpful as was the conceirge! The food in the bar was good although it was very busy and we found it hard to get a seat but sure it was over the take that weekend and it would have been the same anywhere so no complaints there! The bar staff were fun! The breakfast, which in our booking was a continental breakfast, well lets just say it was great, there was variety and we were still able to have a fry up....ish!! Very satisfactory and filling! My only complaint, which is not trully the end of the world, was the parking! But not eveyone that goes to Dublin expects to have car park as they usually take a bus or train lol! When I say complaint its not really that it was just that we were left standing for a while in the heat with heels on!!!lol Having said that, were were relieved the gates closed at night and you have the reassurance of knowing that your car was safe so you had not to worry about it!. All in all we ALL were very happy with our stay in here and we would definitely stay here again. Ps loved the decor on the way to the rooms very nice, in fact I would have loved to have taken the chairs home with me they were great lol!! Very happy with our stay here! Loved it!

comments After booking we heard alot of bad things about this hotel so were a little apprehensive about the stay however were pleasantly surprised. There were a few minor problems with check in but staff were very helpful and efficient in resolving it. There are quite a few steps at the entrance which is not very pram or wheelchair friendly and getting our bags and pram to reception was a little difficult, however you can ask for assistance to carry them up and down. The family room was big enough to cater for our party and very clean. Brekafast was great with a good choice and the service staff were excellent and great with children and on the second morning remembered our drinks and automatically brought them to our table which was a lovely touch. Overall the experience was very enjoyable and and we'd definately go back. Its in a great location opposite Connolly station and near the main shopping area.

comments This was our second time staying and in their premier club room. Room is lovely and the balcony is great. Our only complaint would be the breakfast is very poor quality food compared to our first visit. Staff are lovely at all times and very helpful so it didn't spoil our stay, we just won't be booking breakfast again but you won't get a better more central hotel for the price. Highly recommend!

The hotel rate is so competitive. I have selected the hotel from my home country by google and google earth. My friend commented after the seven nights we spent at NS Hotel: your selection was PERFECT.

comments I loved this hotel. Reasonably priced, friendly staff and more importantly, the suite I had was really nice, spacious, good bed. Access to the lounge was included, which had complementary coffees and sparking water. Though, there was a little buffet etc not sure what it used for, it was empty, some snacks there would be nice :-) The gym was exceptional for a hotel! Bigger then usual, it had everything to train all muscle groups, and also loose weights. Sauna, nice. Breakfast not that much variety in bread etc, but what was there, the warm irish breakfast, was good, coffee was good too. So overall, very satisfied, recommendable!

comments The girlfriend and I stayed in a premier club king room at the north start hotel in April. The hotel was a great location within walkin distance of O'conell street and Temple bar. The room was amazing, very big and well maintained and the club loung was a nice touch too! Although our balcont backed on to the train track and could occasionally here it go by, this was never an issue as they are way more pro's than con's about the hotel. The train noise would never be an issue for me and my girlfriend to return to north star, and we most definately will in the future. The reason for our visit was a city break and we had never been to dublin before so chose there, north star was a great hotel to stay in! If there are any other young couples wanting to visit Dublin for the first time, then i would recommend The North Star hotel for sure...

comments We only had three nights at this hotel and wish it had been more. From the moment we checked in to the time we left our experience was extremely satisfactory. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The restaurant food was excellent. The portions were more than adequate and this was mirrored in the amazing selection you had at breakfast. Rooms were well maintained by the chambermaids and kept very clean. Anything you wanted you only had to ask and you received. McCoys bar was welcoming and the food served there came from the hotel kitchen. Our stay was all too short but we will definitely return - soon!

The rooms are basic and well stocked with tea and coffee :) The breakfast was fantastic, have missed this since coming back home. Slightly disappointed at the cost of keeping the room on for longer. 10 Euros per hour is a little steep in my opinion. comments Hotel was of a good standards as were the rooms. One of our party upgraded to the premier rooms, which they enjoyed the bonus of. The reception staff were always pleasant and helpful. The only thing that let the hotel down was the quality of the food. The continental breakfast was a very limited choice and if we hadnt upgraded to full Irish breakfast i would have been very disapointed. Also the problem at breakfast was that none of the cold food was replenished. Toast (warmed bread) was served as soon as you sat down and was cold by the time you came back with other food. Also the cooked food had a very high salt content & left you very thirsty. The meal we had in the pub was ok. Just again very salty. The waitress serving did not want to be and did not offer us any coffees or desserts as was very uninterested in serving that night. Overall a fantastic base for a weekend away.

comments Stayed for two nights with my wife. We were up for a concert in the o2. A bus was laid on from the hotel to the concert hall and returned us to the hotel after the show. This was great as were not too familar with Dublin. The rooms were clean and warm. Beds were comfortable. The breakfast was something else.Really great food and plenty of it . also plenty of choice. The only downside to our stay was the dinner we had on the first night. Maybe it was because we were close to the last orders when we ate, but I found the food a bit cold and banal.. But overall Id definitly stay there again , as the hotel are very friendly and the location is very very convient to the city.

comments I enjoyed my stay at the North Star. I really liked the convenient location. However I was not very happy with the cleaning of my room. They did not sweep the carpet at all and it needed it bad. The front desk also failed to give me some messages that were left for me. They were important too.

comments El hotel esta bien ubicado, instalaciones en buen estado, el personal amable. Sin embargo, las ventanas no insonorizan bien y se oye pasar el tren muy temprano por las mañanas. Ademas, los colchones requieren un cambio.

comments apologies for the delay in responding - christmas and all that !! We stayed for 3 nights (3 occupants) between 7th & 10th december 2010. overall we had a fabulous time at the North Star with extremely helpful staff - especially Zara - and great food. our only problem, which causes me to rate 4 out of 5 instead of 5, was the room on the first night. I believe it was room 360 (end of corridor on the right) at the back of the hotel overlooking Foley Street. The double glazed window had a gap to the side creating a draft and allowing noise to penetrate into the room. Also when we booked online the picture was nothing like the room, advertising a 24 inch plasma tv on the information as well. I had wanted to visit Dublin for such a long time so our trip was my birthday present from my wife, and as we weren't fully satisfied she contacted reception. In stepped Zara to save our trip, I/We honestly cannot thank her enough. Due to the problems with the room, the advertising discrepancy and the occasion she relocated us into suites (659/660) which were just like the pictures on the site. Absolutely brilliant rooms, huge comfortable beds and with all the services you would expect from a modern hotel. We truly had a wonderful time and will most certainly be revisiting as soon as we possibly can. Having just checked your website, the details have still not been amended on the room details. Thanks once again to everyone, and give Zara a huge thank you from us all

comments Our stay at the North Star was really lovely. we were greated with a friendly welcome when we arrived. We stayed in one of the premier club rooms which were really good, they were decorated very well and also very clean. The location of the hotel is great too, just a short walk and you are in the centre of O'Connell St. As soon as I arrived back in the UK I told my friend about the North Star and what a great time we had. She immediately booked up for a long weekend. It was all just perfect, we will definately be staying here again.

comments The hotel has been beautifully decorated in the reception and lobby area, however this led to the room being rather disapointing on arrival having a rather run down, out dated decor, never the less the room was very clean and comfortable, apart from the bathroom, where unless your under 5'4" you won't easily fit under the shower or have a comfortable bath. The breakfast was quite disapointing, there was not a hugh variety for the continetnal breakfast and the full irish wass overpriced, we were charged 9.95 when it stated 7.95 on the website and we were told 5.95 upon arrival. We found the reception staff and breakfast staff quite short and un-polite however the conceirge and the housekeepers were always very pleasent and friendly. Overall it was good value for money as it was very cheap however next time we would look elsewhere.

comments Overall, the Club rooms are quite good. The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable, the large tv was a good feature and the club lounge was very nice. When I tried to connect to the wifi in my room, I was told it would be €12 a day, but they soon gave me complimentary internet as I had booked through the hotel's website. I am in Dublin quite a lot for course weekends, and this is one of the best hotels (premier club room) in the area. I will stay again in the coming months.

Area a bir shoddy (rough) but not to worried about that. The beds were amazing and great tv also!! i sound like i had a horrible stay but honestly it was fine, staff were lovely too just a few things about the place.

comments This was our second time to stay in the Premier Club Suites. As before the room was lovely- really comfortable bed. The only problems were the noise from the heating/air-conditioning system which seemed to be right above us disturbed our sleep throughout the 2 nights we stayed leaving us quite tired. Also on the morning of departure we had no hot water at all but as we were rushing to catch a train we just had cold showers- not nice!! I mentioned this to the receptionist when checking out and she said she would need to check with maintenance. I also mentioned this on the comment card in our room but have not heard anything to date. I would happily stay with you again but would request not to be put in room 752.

Breakfast the following morning was really nice and of a high standard. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for my review was that we found our room to be quite noisy at night as it was road-side, however, when we visit again I will know to ask for a quieter room!!

comments The Premier Club Suites were very comfortable and well presented throughout my only problem with the hotel was the accessfor disabled at the front of the hotel as there were stairs up to the reception and although there was a ramp at the rear of the hotel you had to access this through a busy car park and it was not sign posted at all.

comments We were very pleased with our stay at the north star hotel. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to find that they had upgraded us to a suite when we had originally booked a club room with no extra charge. Breakfast had a great choice and the room was spectacular, very spacious and extremely clean and a bonus was the balacony views. Over all it was a very enjoyable stay i would definately recommend it and will be back myself the next time i vist the city.

comments I stayed at the North Star hotel with my husband and 3 month old baby. We were very happy with the serices that we recieved by the reception and car park. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on in a hotel. The breakfast was lovely too with plenty to offer. However I had two issues with my stay, we asked for a cot for our baby and the cot we got was very old and had no proper mattress, luckily we happened to have a travel cot in the car and we used that. The second thing we had an issue with was the bar and bar food, it was totally different to the rooms and the breakfast we reccieved. The bar could do with a refurbishment like the rooms and the menu could really do with a change because everything seemed to be deep fried. It was like the bar was not belonged to the hotel. On the main part we loved our stay at North Star and we are thinking of going back in three weeks for two nights instead of one because the bed was so comfortable and the breakfast was so nice.

comments We stay in hotel for 2 nights with Breakfast and the hotel was really nice, we really enjoyed our stay and staff where great. We had one of the best rooms in the hotel, james Joyce Suite and breakfast was lovely. There was only a few things I have to say which are negative and that is the hotel is extremely warm, no air con anywhere only in the bedroom. Breakfast room was extremely warm which made the breakfast a bit uncomfortable. Also the phone was not working in our room which i reported to reception 3 times and it was never fixed for our stay which meant everything we rang reception we had to use our mobile. We had a meal in the pub which is attached to the hotel and it was absolutely disgusting, my husband was sick after it and i did not feel good at all for the evening. Do not eat in the pub. overall wonderful stay and will go back

comments This was my second time staying at your hotel, which I choose for its proximity to the O2. Myself and my brother meet in Dublin a few times a year (I live abroad) to go to concerts together. On neither occasion did I have any problems with the room or with the whole process. On my latter stay, however, I was disappointed that the neighbours complained to reception that we were making noise, and somebody came knocking on our door at 2.30am and threatened to call the police. Myself and my brother were merely talking, we had not seen each other in months and we had enjoyed the concert - it was not as if we were thrashing the room or playing music! This left a quasi-sour taste in the mouth, I must say. Also, when checking out, although we guessed that it was too late for breakfast (11am), we thought it would cost nothing just to ask. So I said "I suppose it's too late for breakfast", to which the recptionist (a young man, I don't know his name but it was July 23) sniggered at us "ya, by over an hour". It was not necessary to laugh, and very unprofessional in my opinion. I work in customer services myself, and am often asked stupid questions, but I never laugh at my customers for asking them, because I want to retain them. Thank you for following up on our stay. I will continue to use the North Star for future visits to Dublin. Regards Gerard Breen.

comments Our stay at the North Star was very comfortable,in a very clean room. The beds were made each day, new towels provided and the bathroom was restocked. We did'nt book breakfast, but decided on the first morning to go to the breakfast room have it charged to our room. This would have been fine, but the North Star have an antiquated system which requires anyone wanting breakfast,to go to the reception desk and obtain a voucher, which you then hand in to the waiter in the breakfast room. This seems fine in practice, but with one person manning reception, and people waiting to check out,we arrived for breakfast nearly 20 mins after planning to eat.Why the waiter in the breakfast room cant have a computer to charge this to your room is beyond me. This system is detremental to disabled guests, and really should be reviewed. Other wise a very enjoyable stay.

comments This was the first time my sister and I had visited Dublin and we chose the Northstar Hotel as it was close to Connolly Station. Our first impression was that it would have been nice to have seen someone as we walked into the Hotel but there was no one at the Concierge Desk, or a porter. However, we enjoyed our stay in the Northstar Hotel and would like to take this opportunity to say that the treatment by staff in the restaurant at breakfast was exceptional! The only other downside for us (and this is not a reflection on the staff) we were woken up in the early hours by other visitors to the Hotel banging the doors, and talking very loudly as if it was the middle of the day. Hence the next day they had notices on their door that they did not want to be disturbed!

comments My stay at the North Star Hotel was excellent. I had booked a twin room, however the room that I was allocated turned out to be double. I went to reception and the pleasant young lady on duty quickly arranged for the porter to split the beds. No problem! Breakfast was excellent, again the staff on duty were triendly and hard working. Many Thanks.

comments I have no complaints about my stay in the North Star. Check in and out were quick, and courteous. My rom was clean tidy and well serviced. The hotel facilities are good, and having a private car park with 24 hour attendent for only 7 euro was great. The situation of the hotel is especially good for city transport and when attending events at Croke Park.

comments We were under the impression that we were going to be staying in the newer part of the hotel so were sorely disappointed when we were placed in the older part which was in serious need of updating however I have to say it was clean and met our needs in terms of getting our heads down at night (we didn;t spend much time at the hotel) Our deal was good value and the food was satisfactory although in no danger of receiving a michelin star any time soon. Over all the stay was satisfactory and we could see the potential of the newer part and it was good value in a central location.

comments We arrived at about 4:00pm and the car park attendant told me thee would be a charge of €15 for parking my work vehicle, despite the web site stating the charge was €7:00 and did not specify any difference for larger vehicles. On arrival, the receptionist told me my credit card was declined, and when I offered my Laser card for payment she said this was declined too. Slightly embarrassing as other guests were watching and listening. I immediately went to the bank on Earl St. to withdraw some cash and both cards worked,so my cards were OK but it seems the hotels swipe macines were not. On returning to the hotel after our event finished that night,we were told the residents bar would not be open, despite the booking stating it would be open for residents. That said, the room was comfortable and pleasant but the check in experience was not.

comments It is very difficult for me to comment on my stay as the hotel were forced to transfer me to another hotel. I appreciate it was due to circumstances outside their control. It would have been preferrable if they had phoned us to tell us of such changes, the second hotel had car parking facilities, we could then have brought our car.
