Hotel was great- clean and modern, within easy walking distance of the city centre. The hotel is only a couple of minutes away from some friendy bars and eateries which we made good use of! We left it to the last night to realise how reasonable the bar meals and drinks were in the hotel bar! Next time we will eat in the hotel more! Staff were polite and made us feel welcome. no complaints- we were all more than happy with this hotel and would happily use it again- hopefully sometime soon! |

I stay at the Mespil quite a lot and find it a very good hotel. The staff are very friendly from the reception staff through to the bar and restaurant. I think this hotel is really good and great value for your money |

The Mespil hotel is very clean and perfectly functional for a stay in Dublin. It is a short, pleasant walk to the city centre (15 minutes), and it was actually nice to be somewhat separated from the chaos of Temple Bar. I would definitely recommend the hotel. |

decided to ho to dublin for my wifes birthday, mespil hotel was recommended to me by an old friend. arrived at 11:00 on saturday morning but was unable to check in until 2pm, however they did offer us a room straight away but it was a smoking room, as neither my wife or myself smoked we declined the offer as we didn't mind waiting till the afternoon, there was a courtesy room for the luggage which we used for our bags. after taking a walk around dublin returned to hotel after 2:00pm, given card for room straight away (room360). our room was huge!!, we had a lovely view of the canal and even had a huge balcony outside, rooms very clean and bathroom was biggest hotel bathroom i've seen, didn't dine in hotel although it looked really nice, overall very impressed with the mespil and would use again and recommend to others |

THE BREAKFASTS WERE VERY GOOD BUT THE DINNERS WERE DISAPPOINTING --STEAK WAS OF POOR QUALIY AND SCALLOP DISAPPOINTING AS IT WAS SWIMMING IN LIQUID AND SHREDDED --NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED. THE HADDOCK WAS DELICIOUS BUT THE CHIPS WERE OVERCOOKED. THE SERVICE IN THE BAR WAS VERY GOOD AS WAS THE RECEPTION BUT THE DINING ROOM COULD BE BETTER. THE ROOM WAS VERY HOT BUT WE TURNED OFF THE HEAT AND LEFT THE WINDOW OPEN SO O.K. |

We stayed in a nice spacious room, with good breakfast and in general helpful staff. The dinner though presented problems, with the waiter not very fluent in english and the kitchen unwilling to cook anything off menu to cater for vegetarians. There was one vegetarian option on the menu. I would recommenf this hotel as a good base for a short stay in Dublin but dine elsewhere. |

Parking was the biggest down fall, We had our 14 month old baby with us, it was a very wet day and arrived during a shower, we had to walk in th pouring rain from the back of the hotel to the main entrance. Receptionists were very pleasant to us. We had our meal on the first night, and we enjoyed it very much. Rooms were nice but very warm, even with the raditors off. |

my friend and myself could fault nothing. we would certainly return again, everyone at the hotel were extremely pleasent and courtious, the meals were just fantastic infact I would say even better than some of the more expensive hotels in Dublin. Our stay at the Mespil Hotel was most enjoyable. The room was a very good size and had two windows which looked out onto the canal. The variety for breakfast was excellent. Dinner was delicious but I felt the dining room was too bland and had no athmosphere. It was also the breakfast room and was more suited to that. Otherwise everything was top class. |

The hotel was good room were a good size and the Meals were reasonable. The staff very helpful and it was easy enough to get around the city as the bus is only a few minutes walk away from the hotel. When I booked I did think we were closer to the City but it work out OK inthe end |

Me and my family (wife and a 7 year son) stayed at Mespil Hotel in early May 2007 and we had a very pleasant stay, the room was very good, good service and the hotel is near to the center (10 min. walk). We enjoyed very much those days at Dublin, if we'll go there again, we'll stay at Mespil, we'll recommend it. |

I stay regularly at the Mespil. The roms are perfectly adequate, clean and reasonable equipped. However, no free internet access (essential when on business) which is unusual nowadays - you have to buy vouchers at reception. Almost all their competitors offer internet access free. Also, there is a funny smell in the common areas, the stairwell in particular. The staff are unfailingly polite and helpful and the food is excellent. |

We always choose the Mespil when overnighting in Dublin. It's easy to get to by car, has a car park, is in a lovely setting on the canal which makes for pleasant walks, is within walking distance of major attractions in the city center, has an attractive bar and a FABULOUS restaurant! |
