comments Based on previous reviews I expected the worst but took the chance anyway because of the location and price. I ended up pleasantly surprised. The room was bigger than most European standards, everything functioned and was clean, and the noise was not bad at all. Verrryyyy good price considering the location. Only negatives were water stains on the ceiling and I had asked three times a day if someone could come change a burnt out light but no one ever did. Neither truly disrupted my stay and I definitely recommend this hotel.

comments It was a brilliant experience. The room was immaculate the standard of a four star hotel. It had all necessities&anything needing replacement or repair was done pronto.Dana the receptionist was fabulous, she showed genuine sincerity in dealing with the clients as witnessed by me numerously in addition to all her assistance to us.When I thanked her on departure she said:"For what!I've been there myself".Added big time bonus is the location it is just off Grafton Street & directly behind St. Stephens Green Shopping centre & the tram that takes you to the city centre& unforgettable Dundrum Shopping mall the standard of Westfield Shopping mall at Shepard's Bush in London.Everything is literally 2-3 minutes away (And that's standard time not Irish time ).It's a a 12 minute brisk walk to O'Connel's bridge that's if you can resist retail therapy or a snack or meal.

comments The 4-day discount deal made this by far the best priced 3 star hotel in the heart of the city; and there were no unexpected extras added to the bill. The breakfast offered very good value for money. We wondered what the catch was. The staff? No: they were friendly and helpful. The accommodation? Our room was spacious and well-equipped. The location? Dublin is a small city: during our stay we never took a bus or a taxi: we walked. Most of the top sights and attractions were within a 10 minute radius. The only reason we could see for its low cost was that the hotel would not pick up much passing trade because it is located in a street without any pubs, shops or other attractions to entice visitors to take this turning. But for the guests this leads to another plus point: unlike many of central Dublin’s hotels, Mercer Street is a haven of peace and quiet in a city of boisterous nightlife.

comments The hotel is extremely central for the Grafton Street area of Dubln. The Reception staff are very effecient and very pleasant and really cannot do enough to help. It is easy to get buses from the hotel and the coach to the airport is about seven minutes walk away. The Brakfast included in my package was substantial, and kept me going throughout the day. This is essential nowadays as Dublin itself is an expensive city

comments Overall I was very pleased. The room & bathroom were spacious and clean. The hotel is in a good location near the top of Grafton St. so it is walking distance to most of the big tourist locations. It is a great hotel for its star rating and price especially if all you are after is somewhere quiet to sleep and base yourself. The hotel's restaurant is also good.

comments Would have been a 5 had the lift not been out of service. Being situated on the 4th floor I as a 67 year-old, and my 62 year-old wife who is awaiting a hip replacement found this a major inconvenience during our 3-night stay. Not the hotel's fault, admittedly, but it detracted from an otherwise most enjoyable experience. Meals were excellent and the staff friendly, efficient and helpful. Will certainly stay there again provided the lift is in working order.

comments The hotel location was perfect for a first visit to Dublin. However, it definitely felt like it had seen better days and the restaurant was nowhere near as good as the description suggested.

comments We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again. Room was clean, hotel was quiet, staff friendly. And what a great location! Only negative is, their website says they have king size beds, and this actually means 5 foot beds. I suppose nowadays, we tend to think in terms of 6 foot being kingsize! Other than that, it was a very pleasant experience, and excellent value for money, for a city centre hotel.

comments The carpet corridors, and the room could use a facelift, needs updating and brightening as part of the decor. I enjoyed my stay there, though it was only for one night. I was drinking late in the bar at the Hotel, and I asked the Barman/Porter on duty if there was any food. He said 'no'. However, I had an information leaflet in my room that said there was food available late at night, as part of the room service, so this was disappointing. I would stay at the Mercer again, as it is in an excellent location. The funny thing is that you are allowed to park your car for free when you stay at the Mercer, but when you are checking out, you must take your car out of the car park before 11.00am, yet checking out of the Mercer is 12.00pm.

comments Hotel's position was fine, the accommodation very good. Breakfast was excellent in contrast to dinner which was poor. We had to wait almost an hour for our meal which was very disappointing. Accepted their apologies but did'nt eat there again. Also some confusion with the overnight free parking which starts at 6pm.of which we were not made aware. All the signs said 5pm so for some reason we had to pay the overnight charge when we parked around 5.30.
