The staff is very friendly.
The room was clean and the shower had enough hot water
Sound and thermal insulation is inexisting due to very old windows.

The hotel said there had been a problem with my booking and they had moved me instead to the Celtic Lodge. I would not book with Maple Hotel again, and Celtic Lodge was not a place I would have selected for myself. I won't be going back.

Très bon accueil, chambre correcte mais très bruyante (pas de double vitrage alors que la rue est très bruyante toute la nuit)

We booked this hotel because we thought the price was rather fair with breakfast being included and being in the city center. I give one out of five stars because the location is pretty central. It was easy to find, and a lot of sights are in walking distance. From the front everything looks nice but once you step inside you get a feeling of what's to come. The staff is mostly foreign, no locals. The "lobby"is tiny with a worn out sofa and a broken PC in the corner. No warm welcome, no smiles. After we were asked when we wanted to pay they handed out the key. Of couse no offering to help carry lagguage upstairs to our room which was on the top floor. No elevators. The staircase was shabby. An old red stained carpet. Broken mirrors, wallpaper coming off the wall. The handrail was missing several bars in between. A smell of insect spray hung in the air and when we finally reached the top floor and opened our room we entered a tiny shoebox. The air was damp, because the windows didn't fully close. The same red stained rug in the room. There was mould in every corner where the wallpaper came off. linoleum in the tiny bathroom. No water pressure. You had to flip a switch outside to get hot water in the shower (from the sink only cold water), which only lasted half a shower to the misfortune of the second person (I once carefully lifted the toilet brush which was a very bad idea). Mattresses were old and a loose coil spring was torturing me all night long. We had to open the windows at night because the air was stifling. It was pretty loud from outside the street (what I don't mind at all, after all we all live in cities), but also from a "pub" in the basement, so if someone minds noise, don't stay here. We decided not to have breakfast (which was in the basement) and found a nicy breakfast place on O`Connell street. I do have to say that for the price you are paying there you can at least expect some cleanness and effort. Never again. That was really the worst hotel I ever stayed in.

El personal es muy amable, el desayuno aceptable, la habitación decepcionante respecto a las fotos publicadas y lo peor el ruido de tráfico de la calle que ensordece hasta la propia musica del bar del hotel. Las ventanas deberían tener al menos doble cristal para que se pudiese dormir. Ahora ni con tapones en los oidos. Necesitaría una reforma contundente y un lavado de cara, pero la impresión es que es muy similar a todos los de la zona que se conforman con ofrecer este alojamiento estandar de poco nivel a un cliente atraido más por la buena situación y el precio razonable.
