comments The hotel was conveniently located, reasonably priced, and had a lively pub downstairs. The problem with having a lively pub downstairs in this instance was that the activity spilled out into the street (right under our window) and the management of the hotel did not feel inclined to ask the patrons (& at least one member of the hotel staff) to stop yelling & screaming at 1:30 in the morning. Otherwise, although the room was small & there was no elevator or porter to help carry bags, the atmosphere of the hotel was fine.

comments Lovely old style Irish hotel, a bit scruffy around the edges, but comfortable, with some of the greatest staff I have ever found in Ireland. Loved the inhouse bar, unfortunately was not able to stay longer for the weekend music sessions in Harrys Bar. Great location, close to everything I needed, would definitely be staying again on my next trip to Dublin

comments Staff were excellent. Service was great. The room itself was a little 'tired' and shabby which spoilt the time spent in the room. Bathroom was clean, however there was no extractor fan for the shower steam. Shower head was damaged. Noticed that the hotel itself was up for sale so that maybe why no money has been spent on the decor.

comments The hotel is fine if you just want a bed to stay in. The decor is dated and the bathroom not so great. But for staying close to the heart of the city this hotel is excellently placed. The only noise was from the generator outside but that didn't start till 8am. The staff were very friendly. Basically you get what you pay for.

comments Hotel was average not very impressive interior, staff was friendly, average breakfast, although there were some essentials that need updating such as shower drain was slow and inspite of reporting, nothing worked out. overall facilities are better but need improvement, if you looking for average hotel, this could be the place, but have a thought about paying little bit more to get better service and facilities.

comments Very good location and friendly staff. Clean, deasant standard of the bathroom. Only negative is that the beds could be better. But i guess you need to live with that as it is cheap and absolutely worth the money. Recommended as long as you need a central place to sleep and dont expect "Hilton" standard.

comments Ok this hotel is not the ritz but after reading a few reviews on various website that gave it a bleak view, I was quite worried what I had let myself in for! I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was good value for money and I would definately stay here again. It was a little noisey during the weekend due to the nightclub below but it was not unbearable. Great central location.

comments reception service very good, cleanliness of room and bed linen well maintained. Stairway could do with a face lift to avoid poor first impressions. Breakfast, service very good but very limited choice and certainly not in keeping with Irish tradition, think if this was improved it would really add to the experience. But overall for location and cost it was good value for money

comments The stay here overall was good. The price was cheap, the room was nice, clean and not too outdated. I did have a problem shutting my door and went down to reception where one of the cleaners offered to go up and close the door for me, when I got back, this had not been done, it was just as well I didn't go out for long! Also breakfast I thought was slightly small, I bumped into a friend of mine who had dropped in for breakfast and he got the works for breakfast! One disadvantage is that there was no lift, only stairs. Overall, I would go back here for price and access to the city centre if nothing else.

comments We enjoyed our stay at the Earl of Kildare - compared to other central hotels it was good value. The location was great. Our room was on the top floor (fine for us, but not if you cna't cope with stairs), we heard a generator at about 8am through drafty windows! The room was clean and fine for a weekend break - nothing luxurious but we weren't paying for the Ritz! The water pressure was bad, but good enough for a quick shower.

comments The location was perfect for us. The price was more than reasonable for a large city. The desk clerks were extremely helpful. The room location on the second floor, supposedly to protect us from the noise level in the bar when there was music, did nothing to protect us from music in the other public space (which felt as if it was in the room next to us rather than two floors down). My 76 year-old mother found the two flights a struggle, especially carrying a suitcase. Perhaps if she didn't look so young (or we had given away her age), the desk clerk might have suggested a first floor room instead.

comments The location is excellent, much better than I expected. The room was very nice, mine was with an en-suite bathroom, and overall I was very satisfied. The personnel was very friendly. There is a lively bar on the ground floor, and if one is a light sleeper, they might be bothered by the unavoidable noise (I was not). There is no elevator, so be prepared for that if you have heavy luggage.

comments Very basic accommodation. Our room was above the nite club which didnt finish till 2pm. In the morning at breakfast I overheard another guest asking for more Orange Juice only to be told "sorry only one glass per person", I was very embarrased, this was an American Tourist over for the Ryder Cup! Other than that the staff were very obliging. On street parking was a problem, which resulted in my car's bumper getting smashed! Wouldn't rush back, which is a pitty as the Location is very central!

comments The room was adequate but very old fashioned and the walls were badly in need of a touch up. The bathroom however was very clean and a lot more modern than the actual room. Bar has music on at the weekend and I was grateful my room was on the second floor so it didn't disturb me. One of the reasons I chose the hotel was several of the reviews mentioned friendly staff, the girl at the check in really made me wonder about this one as she wasn't exactly friendly however both the girl serving breakfast and the girl on check out were very nice. I wasn't keen on the fact the dining room was also the bar area. The smell of alcohol and breakfast don't mix very well. However it was very reasonably priced, especially if you're on your own, it's extremely central and it did the job.
