comments The hotel has an associated nightclub, the music from which is loud and can be heard in the rooms. If that is likely to be a problem for you, this may be a hotel to avoid. If not, then it's otherwise a very comfortable, clean, well equipped and pleasent place to stay.

comments Friendly and helpful staff from reception to housekeeping. Room tidy, clean, tasteful enough. Good location - on edge of centre, but quick and easy walk to everything. Didn't try restaurant/bar. Only issue is noise late at night due to hotel club - though earplugs provided in bedside table!!!

comments The hotel was generally ok, but checking in was a bit manic. There were not enough rooms ready for the amount of people checking in, therefore a lot of unhappy people were milling around waiting for a room. It has to be said that the hotel staff were trying their best to make the rooms ready as quickly as possible. One other point to mention is the sash windows in my room were very drafty, and did little to keep the noice of traffic and drunks out at 4am in the morning!

comments The stay was generally fine. My room was fine - clean and tidy, but very small. Though I did have a skylight -- which was very cool. Did not have hotel breakfasts, but the attached restaurant was quite good (Italian). I followed advice of others in terms of requesting a "quieter" room -- but trust me, it is still loud. There are people out partying at all hours of the night, right outside the hotel!!! (Though I was so exhausted from all the exploring that I slept fine.)

comments The Harcourt Hotel was a good hotel but would have been much better had our party of 7 females not been put out the back of the hotel along with the bottle crushing machine and various other noises. Considering that the booking was made in March/April and we paid full price we felt as though we had been short-changed. I fail to see why those particular rooms are used for paying guests as they were more like staff quarters. Breakfast was really good. Niteclub was an eye-opener, funky fellas dancing to Dolly Parton - 9 til 5, but we enjoyed it. Would stay at the hotel again but would specify rooms in main hotel, or else.

comments Hotel was ok and fairly central - within walking distance of the town centre. However, the room we were allocated was in an extension which involved going through the garden. Luckily it wasn't raining. The room was a little worn, with grafitti scratched into the furniture. The staff were fairly helpful although I did have problems getting by bag back from their concierge service. Wouldn't have wanted to stay any more than one night.

On the 5/8/07 (sun) we spent another night but in a much better room 315 no generators, however the noise later that night from disco was quite annoying, however you did warn it would be noisy on busy nights and we accepted this. apart from that rooms very clean and bathroom aswell . When I rang to check if the hotel had a carpark and was told told to use the Royal College of Surgeons I was not informed of how expensive it was to park. The carprak was the biggest disappointment and would put me off using this hotel again. It was an expense I did not expect to pay.

comments Hotel fine, great service , good location in north central Dublin. 10 or 15 mins walk to anywhere in the centre. BUT .... BE VERY CAREFULL PARKING near this hotel or accross the road even for a few minutes late at night when its quite like I did. The Dublin City Clampers are ruthless here . I pulled across the road to check in late for a few minutes and I was done for ?80 . Dublin registered cars all around me unclamped but the belong to the Garda (Police) across the road. I had a Belfast reg. The Gaurds told me they get an average of 6 a night . Sickening - Park 5 mins away in the Royal college of surgens car park

comments I was extremely disappointed with the room. The wall paper was peeling away from the walls, the bathroom was tiny and mouldy and breakfast can only be described as overpriced for a very average buffet. Having said that the staff were friendly and the location was certainly good but that isn't enough to make me stay there again.

comments For the price, it's much better to get a room with its own bathroom rather than going to a hostel. Our room was even bigger than expected, with two double beds and one twin. There is someone available at the front desk 24 hours and the staff was very nice. Tip: go across the street to Copperface Jack's pub for an amazing time if you want to drink/dance/be silly!

comments I have no complaints about the standard of this hotel. Staff were very helpful and polite. Standard of food good. I was however disappointed about the excessive noise experienced by us through revellers during the early hours of the morning, despite the fact that iwas suppose to have been allocated a'quiet' room overlooking the main street. It would have been much quieter at the back of the hotel. We had great difficulty in getting sufficient sleep during the week-end which affected our holiday. Obviously We would be unlikely to book at this hotel again.

comments THe Harcourt is a pleasan, reasonably priced t hotel situated just down from St Stephen's Green and therefore very convenient for the city centre. The hotel is honest about being lively and iff you would prefer a quiet room ask for a room in the annexe a few doors up from the nightclub. The hotel fronts the tramway and the hotel thoughtfully provides ear plugs.

comments We had a fun time. It was a bit noisy at night, but I was expecting that from the other reviews I read. I don't think I would want to stay there in summer if I had to have my windows open. It really is a place for young adults. We took our four kids who are all in their 20's and it was really a fun atmosphere for them. They enjoyed the club (D2) and beer garden, while my husband and I really enjoyed the Irish musicians in the Pub. All in all, it was a great trip and a very good location.

comments The Harcourt Hotel is involved in the lucrative Christmas Party trade and unfortunately sacrifices facilities for residents during December. In particular, no bar meals were available and the restaurant was full of noisy party guests. It was thus necessary to eat away from the hotel each night. It may be that the hotel is excellent during the remainder of the year? I should add that the staff (almost all from eastern Europe) were excellent.

I returned to rececption rather embarrassed to find out we were 2 floors higher. We tried again but this time couldn't enter the room. I was very tired and very angry by now. The chap on reception was not as helpful or as apologetic as I would have liked. The Hotel itself was very good value and excellently situated. It was very noisy at night though, and that was a Monday and Tuesday Night. Dread to think what a weekend is like but if you are there to party its ideal.

comments Great hotel, rooms were clean and well equipped for our stay. Food, especially breakfast, is really good quality and good value for money. Its is situated in a good locality, close to local ammenities but a not close enough to be concerned about late night drinkers! Only problem we encountered concerned facilities for the children after 9pm. The room usually used was prebooked and the staff were inflexible in their attitude resulting in us all having to return to our rooms for the night. Other than this I was very satisfied with the service and will stay here again.

comments Suffering from back pain, I had wished that all rooms could be reached by the lift only. To get to my room, which by the way was very cosy, I had to carry my suitcase up two stairs. Another thing:Why do (almost) all hotels lie about distances? Only top trained runners can reach Stephen's Green in a two minutes walk. Even the tram used two and a half minute. The Rica Hotel chain in Scandinavia states distances in kilometres.I wish all hotels could do that. Then the guest could find out herself how much time s/he would need. Apart from this, I enjoyed my stay very much. I also liked the adjacent bar and restaurant very much.

comments good value for money. I was expecting it to be noisy, as I had heard that the hotel is in a club dominated part of Dublin; there were a lot of young pub goers in the street, but we didn't hear them, even though our room faced the street. Ofcourse, this was Monday; apparently Tuesday is when the real partying starts. The room was elegant and comfortable, with high ceilings and a chandelier. (It looked like it had been a front parlour in the house at one time.)

comments The Harcourt is in a great location, and is well priced considering its geography, but for a reason. We new in advance from other reviews that the hotel sits above a thriving nightclub, but no amount of warning could have prepared us for the mob scene that descended on our last 4 days there. There is virtually no safe room that is away from the noise as there are two clubs on top of each other and one has a rear patio that is loud and lively, virtually surrounding the building with noise. This is the reality of street-facing hotel rooms in the center of almost any Irish town, much less it's biggest city, but the desk staff at the Harcourt is much too cute about it, and when asked pointedly at our check-in stated our third floor location would make the noise barely noticeable. This was disingenuous at best. Our search for the ideal value hotel near St. Stephen's Green continues, I can't imagine ever staying at the Harcourt again, or recommending to anyone other than partiers who know they'll be out until 3am every night anyway.

comments I found the Harcourt Hotel to be extremely clean and very welcoming. From the minute we arrived the service was exceptional and very friendly. It is also in a very convenient location for the centre of dublin. The only point I would make people aware of is that there is a night club within the building and it can be quite noisey until the early hours! Other than that I would highly recomment it to my friends and family.

comments A clean and pleasant hotel, with helpful and friendly staff. Ideally placed for the city centre (5 - 10 minutes walk) The room rates are very competitive by Dublin standards. A good, but basic breakfast (Irish or continental). Some rooms at the rear of the hotel may encounter late night noise from the public bar below. Overall, very well worth a visit.

comments While the Harcourt Hotel is centrally located, it is the only hotel where earplugs are offered to guests upon check-in. If I was 24 yrs old and interested in serious partying or reveling with rugby players this would be the hotel. For all others, it is best to look elsewhere.

comments Stayed at the harcourt for 2 nights last weekend and was very pleasantly surprised! Rooms were spacious and very clean, staff were friendly and helpful, and location was only a 5 minute stroll to the center. the only negative comment I could make is that it is situated on a busy street and if you have a room at the front it might get pretty noisy through til the early hours of the morning - which is OK if you're out partying amongst them (as we were ;-) but maybe not suitable for those seeking a quieter time.

comments On our first stay we were assigned to the 5th floor whereas the lift went up only to the 3rd floor. The reception did not give us this info although she saw that we were close to 60years, and she did not offer a porter. Eventually they changed the room but the experience was unpleasant. Otherwise the rooms were clean and OK.

comments My girlfriend and I were staying in Dublin for 3 nights. Unfortunately, Harcourt Hotel could only offer 2 nights but they were excellent and without hesitation the staff were very helpful in finding a hotel for the extra night we were staying which was almost opposite the Harcourt Hotel itself. I would highly recommend this hotel, only a 10 minute walk from the heart of Dublin City centre and keep an eye out for special deals on the room rates as they seem very competitive!
