comments We had a stunning view of the Aviva Stadium, including the green Dart train commuting away! There was great room service value for beverages, including wine. As I assist those who need to speak publicly at weddings or in business - this Hotel served me well. It is convenient to many busy outlets in the City Centre. Definitely good value for money and strongly recommended by me! Brenda Harte

comments I would highly recommend staying at the Grand Canal hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Myself and my 2 sisters stayed there recently and found the service to be excellent. Also the shuttle service the hotel provides to shows in Grand Canal Theatre is a great idea.

comments Stayed here while going to see a show at Grand Canal Theatre... Fantastic shuttle bus service which made our stay so easy as I was with a 13yr old child.. Room was clean tidy and warm. We had upgraded as well which gave us free movie channel use. Brill!! Bar restaurant ”gasworks” had great bar food good atmosphere and although I didn't go in after the show the music sounded great with everyone returning from the show. Have stayed at other Ennis hotels and thought this to be better than those so u shouldn't b disappointed...

comments Greeted by friendly member of staff, hotel was warm & cozy. My room was clean and met my requirements. Situated perfectly to where I had to go. Breakfast staff were v accommodating in all requests only they didn't have smoked salmon :( But left there fully satisfied.

comments We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Great location for our visit, easily accessible and close to the city centre. The room was comfortable, clean and well priced. We ate at the bar and had breakfast in the morning, the food was very good. The service was very helpful and friendly, overall the staff contributed most to our experience. Would be happy to stay again.

comments I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, the ice machine in the corridor was a great added touch. I also loved the safety of only being able to use the lift to go to your floor. The staff where really friendly and helpful. Just one small downside was the timed heating, our room was cold when we got there, as it was a smoking room I would of liked to have opened the window when I smoked to be fair to my partner as he doesn't, but it would of been too cold and we weren't sure when the heating would be back on. Just a small negative, id definitly book here again.

comments The staff were really friendly. Wonderful bar food and breakfast. We also availed of shuttle bus to theatre which was a great service. Checking in and out was done quickly and efficiently so there was not hanging around. I would certainly use this hotel again if I am going to a show. Only complaint I have is the room was far too warm, but that to me is a personal choice.

comments This was the first time I stayed in the Grand Canal Hotel. I was very happy with the facilities ( especially the Gym ) and the Hotel's central location. The food in the GasWorks restaurant was vey tasty. My sister, who is Coeliac, was very happy to find that so many Gluten-Free dishes were available. I think that the welcome text in Irish in the folder in the room, should be something like "Fáilte go dtí Óstán na Canálacha Móire", Kind regards

comments It was really enjoyable. The rooms are comfortable and the full breakfast filling. The staff were friendly and helpful, even arranging transport to the airport at the awful hour of 4AM. The Gasworks Pub is attached to the hotel which is very convenient. There are also a number of other pubs within walking distance if you want to get out a little (Gingerman & Oil Can Harrys are good).

comments Great stay! I travel 40% of the time on business and I know a good hotel within the first 10 minutes you check in, I knew Grand Canal Hotel was a winner! Friendly reception staff, cordial, smiling, efficient and with humor, wow! Great Irish breakfast, a totally equipped gym to do away with the calories (from other business meals of the day as well) and very convenient location 20 mins walk to the center and easy driving in and out + parking. Definitely would recommend to any businessperson looking for a hotel that treats you like a B&B all while being more efficient and quick than many chain hotels. You don't feel like a number at Grand Canal Hotel. Looking forward to make it my stay at Dublin each time, leave me a spot thoug... Cheers Grand Canal!

comments We were very happy with our stay in the Grand Canal Hotel, we were attending a show in the Grand Canal Theatre and it was only a short distance away. On check in the receptionist asked us if we would like a room at the back of the hotel as the front may be a bit noisey (Ireland were playing in the Aviva that night). We had a lovely room, very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent, a very good choice from continental to full Irish and an array of breads and pastries, the only gripe I had was the juice was diluted and not fresh but apart from that everything was excellent. Any of the staff we came across were friendly and helpful. Some friends and I are booked in again in December and I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel

comments we found the grand canal a great place to stay.It was near to all the places we wanted to go.We found it to be quiet and relaxing.The car park was a big reason for choosing the Hotel, so near to the city centre and it was as knowing everything was safe left us enjoy the break.The breakfast was great as they was pleanty to choose from.

Since no A/C, windows must be left open and when employees were in that courtyard area, it could be noisy. Based on service, I would stay here again but would ask for a room in a different location.

comments our stay was ok,it says online that it is easy to find we found it hard,we thought it was so much nearer to the grand canal theatre it would of been more convenient to stay at the maldron,this would be my advice to anyone who asks,the night we stayed there was a match at the aviva stadium so the bar was very packed,we had our dinner during the day in the bar which was nice,we wanted something light to eat before we went to the theatre,the bar refused to give us our food on plates they wated us to take it in containers,also were serving drink in plastic glasses,so we refused and went elsewhere,we do understand if it was messy on the night this is the hotel policy,but we were not at teh match we were going to a show,we would not stay again...sorry.

comments We stayed here for one night to attend an event at the O2. Location wise, the hotel was perfect and within easy walking distance to the city centre and major attractions. It is also directly opposite a Dart station which is ideal for getting around. We found the free underground car parking a huge advantage and would chose the hotel again for this facility. On arrival, we were greeted at reception by a friendly and informative receptionist who booked us a return transfer to the O2 which was great. We ate in Gasworks and had the Sunday special 2 course meal for €15. The bar was very busy and I had expected to wait but was pleasantly suprised by how quickly we were served. The quality of the food was good, not exceptional but good value for money. Service at the bar for drinks was also very quick considering how busy it was and the staff in the bar were also very friendly and efficient. The bedroom was basic but clean. The bed was comfortable and plenty of storage if you were staying for a few days. Dressing gowns are offered in each room but I would personally remove these as the ones in my room although clean, were very hard and had perhaps seen better days. We were also dissapointed with the food received from room service which we ordered at approx 1am. Although delivered very quickly, the sandwiches which arrived were not as described on the room service menu. When we raised this on check-out, the receptionist did apologise and deducted in full the cost from our bill. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment on quality. Overall, a pleasant if short stay and we will definately return to this hotel

comments We were really pleased with the hotel. Our trip was to see a show at the Grand Canal Theatre, so the hotel was perfectly placed. We had an evening meal in the Gasworks bar and breakfast in the restaurant and enjoyed both meals. The room was lovely and the staff were really pleasant, happy to answer any questions/queries we had and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. (including a rapid service when the keypad on our door broke - it was looked at and fixed in under 5 minutes!) Very impressed with the option to leave a bag after we had checked out aswell. The only thing that could have improved our stay would be air-con in the rooms. Highly recommend!

Evening meal prior to theatre satisfactory, we were sat in a poor position by a draughty door, and no suitable alternative could be found when I asked for a change. A 4 euro charge for the bus to theatre was too high, a shared taxi proved cheaper, and for a hotel that promotes "Theatre Packages", the bus could have been complimentary.

comments For my first visit to Dublin we were going to see a gig at the theatre (Grand Canal) and chose this hotel because of the close proximity to the theatre. I must say the weekend was excellent. We arrived early and were allowed to check in 4 hours early. For the price the room was great, the breakfast was good the staff were very helpful. The hotel bar was one of the best hotel bars I've been in, it was like a proper pub and no more expensive than the pubs around it. Even though the pub was heaving with revellers (Xmas party) you couldn't hear a thing from the room. If you are visiting Dublin and don't mind a 15 minute walk into town (Temple Bar) I highly recommend this hotel.

comments The location of the Hotel was ideal. It is within walking distance to the Grand Canal Theatre which I found to be extremely useful. The short distance to the dart station was also very useful for getting into the city center winitn a matter of minutes. The room was very well presented and very comfortable and the staff were very pleassant and friendly upon arrival and checkout. I would stay in the hotel again on my next visit to Dublin.

comments I brought my daughter there for her 14th Birthday as we were going to The Grand Canal theatre to see "Hairspray". It was a surprise and i found the staff to be great and the food was fab. I will definately book again any time we go to a show . Very good value for money and close to Theatre. They also do packages for shows which are well worth it .

comments We were in Dublin from the US to run the marathon. We needed a centrally located hotel for the marathon and touring in Dublin that was affordable and quiet. This hotel exceeded all of our expectations. All the staff departments were delightful, pleasant, professional and helpful. We ended up staying an extra night but needed to add an additional guest to our room. The desk and housekeeping staff handled this last minute request with efficiency and aplomb. We will most likely stay at this hotel when traveling to Dublin in the future and will definitely recommend to family and friends.

comments We were attending a show in the Grand Canal Theatre, and of the hotel was absolutely perfect - within 10 minutes walking distance. The room was clean, a good size, and functional. Breakfast was buffet style, and well presented.

comments Overnighted while attending the Tango show at the Grand Canal Theatre. Overall very happy with all aspects of my stay. The receptionist was particularly helpful. My wife and I availed of the pre-theatre menu for dinner in the bar and we were impressed with the quality and quantity of the food. Would recommend to our friends.

comments Recently stayed in the Grand Canal Hotel in Dublin and what a stay it was. We booked the pre theatre package as we were going to a show on the Tuesday Night. When we arrived at the hotel we found free underground parking which was extremely convenient. On checking in we were greeted with the pleasant surprise of a complimentary upgrade to one of the suites. Wow! The room we were allocated was new and very modern. It had a black, white and red theme and was fully kitted out with all the necessaries. We also had a balcony which overlooked the new Aviva stadium. Would highly recommend booking for a suite. Food was also good, very tasty and excellent service. The hotel is very central - walked to grafton street in about 20 minutes and the grand canal theatre is only about 10 minutes walk. I would highly recommend this hotel and will be returning in the future. Thank you.

comments Was bit dubious about booking this hotel as it wasn't one of the 'more familiar' names in Dublin. We were going to a concert at the Aviva stadium and wanted something close-by. We were greeted by courteous staff at Check- In and very pleased with the room, which had a great view over to the Aviva stadium. An easy 15 minute walk to the stadium with some lively bars on the way there (and back!). Enjoyed the entertainment and Craic in the Gaslight bar later on that night. The experience means that we are already planning a return visit for perhaps an Ireland Six Nations match.

comments The room (executive) was spotless, reasonably spacious and the bed comfortable. Reception staff were exceptionally pleasant upon arrival and off-street underground FREE parking was a big plus when many hotels even outside the city centre (over)charge for it. Breakfast was good, didn't try dinner but the Gasworks bar being part of the establishment was nice to come back to for a nightcap after an evening out in town (hotel is 3 mins walk from Dart station) before retiring to bed. I would absolutely stay here again.

comments We stayed at the Grand Canal Hotel with a show offer. I can honestly say it was the best week-end ever and really good value for money. We got an executive room and were seated about 7-8 rows from the front at the show. The staff are a credit to the hotel, so friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and spacious. The food was really nice, we had an evening meal included in our deal. I would highly recommend The Grand Canal Hotel.

comments It was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. That was our 2nd time staying there and we don't have one bad word to say about it. Ideal location for whatever occasion be it rds horse show or night out in town. The Gasworks Bar is very nice place to eat in too. The music is a bit too loud though. Will definitely be staying there again as my family like staying there for the horse show.

comments Very good standards. I asked for a quiet room and was located one. Room was very comfortable and clean and all the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

comments The staff at the hotel were very pleasant and helpful. The morning we were due to leave my car wouldn't start and the receptionist did all she could to help me get it started again. We were upgraded to an executive room. The rooms were clean and tidy. The beds were very comfortable. It would have been nice to havve better views from the room. The hotel was vey close to landsdowne rugby ground and about 15mins walk to the centre of Dublin. The bar in the hotel was lively as there was a rugny match on the weekend we were visiting.

comments Was upgraded to executive room, free of charge on arrival, no problem checking in after mid-night. Only minor niggle, I couldn't turn fan off in bathroom so slightly noisy if bathroom door left open.

comments Great staff @ the front desk. The bar staff were fantastic! The only thin I did not like was that there was no "do-it-yourself" laundry facilities. They do provide daily dry cleaning services. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel is extremely clean and quiet!

comments Hotel was clean and nice. We paid an extra 25 euros per night to upgrade to an executive suite which I did not feel was worth it. The balcony door did not lock onto the shared balcony and could be opened from the outside. The hotel could have provided useful information regarding the immediate locality as hotel was situated slightly outside the city.

comments Hotel is a little out of the centre of town, but otherwise great for those who want to be away from the night time noise of Temple Bar. Room was a good size, and clean. Very efficient front desk staff, who were extremely accommodating when we arrived at 2am following a delayed flight! Overall basic but very safe and comfortable place to stay. Would recommend.
