comments The Hotel was good, but there were some troubles in my bedroom. The window wasn't working very well as same the the shower.
Hotel Response:

Dear Andrea Rodrigues Santos, With regards the showers, there are two dials on the bathtub faucet one for pressure and one for temperature. Staff will gladly assist you should you not be able to get the hot water you wish. One side of the faucet is for water pressure indicated by three different size circles and water temperature is on the other side indicated by a dial going from 20 degrees to 50 degrees. All windows in the hotel have restrictors for saftey purposes so prevent the windows opening too wide and there is a button on the window latch that you press to move the lever up/down - this is very common in Ireland with modren window fittings perhaps not so in the rest of the world? Regards, Jonathan Hynes.

comments Taps in bathroom are broken no constant warm water. Bar opposit has it's glas container under the bedroom windows. It is impossible to sleep or shower.
Hotel Response:

Dear Ruth Simpson, In response to your review of the George Frederic Handel Hotel, the hotel has had no hot water issues while you were staying with us, so the only conclusion I can come to is that the bathtub faucets confused you somewhat. There is one side of the faucet that deals with water pressure with three levels of water pressure indicated by increasing size cirles. On the other side of the faucet is the side that deals with water temperature going from 20 degrees to 50 degrees to suit your needs. I would be interested to know if you had any issues with water temperature in the hand basin, or had you made any complaint to any member of staff at the front desk? With regards the bar opposite and it's glass containers, these belong to a neighboring hotel, and while we have no direct control over their activities we ask that they consider our guests too when they work in this area. Regards, Jonathan Hynes. General Manager

comments This hotel is an ideal base for exploring Dublin. Clean, although a bit shabby in places and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Wifi in public areas and a good breakfast are included. You're right beside Temple Bar, but far enough away that it's not too noisy. Ask for a room away from the elevators - the bionic voice that announces the floors in the lift carries into nearby rooms. I changed my plans for my return to Dublin to stay here again. Nothing fancy, but it's great value.

comments The George Frederic Handel hotel is starting to show its age, some of the fittings were broken in the room, but I knew that it wasn't a 1st class hotel, and I was not overly concerned, because the room was clean and well serviced. I may have been more concerned if I was paying full price, but the advanced booking option, which was trouble free and an excellent price was great. The hotel's location was excellent, just the right spot for me to stay and I would definitely stay there again if I travelled to Dublin.

comments Not very impressed! The room was fine, but we asked twice for more pillows as there were no spares in the room and never got any so woke up every morning with backache! Breakfast on the first morning was so awful that we went elsewhere for the rest of our stay (cold bacon, undercooked sausage and cold baked beans). I expectd the hotel to be cheap and cheerful - yes it was cheap, but even for the money I would have expected better. Definitely won't be going back I'm afraid.

comments Perfect location for us four guys on a pub crawl tour. The pub directly in the hotel was fine for us but might be too loud for couples looking for a quiet place to stay. We were a little worried because there were quite a few very negative comments on the internet concerning the George Frederic Handel Hotel but were very satisfied that we could not confirm those comments. Rooms and breakfast were absolutely OK for a 3-star hotel. We will take this hotel again on our next visit to Dublin.

comments We had read bad comments relating to the hotel, so were very worried prior to arrival. Yes, the hotel is looking a little tired, but overall it was good value for money, bed was comfortable and the En suite clean, friendly cleaners and reception staff. They allowed us to check in early, which was much appreciated. The downstairs bar could do with refurbishment though. Breakfasts were adaquate and well cooked with plenty of tea and toast being offered by friendly, efficient staff. If you are used to modern, plastic hotels with all the costly nice bits, don't go there. If you just want to enjoy Dublin and use it as a place to stop, you probably won't get better value for your Euro's.

comments Since I usually stay at "Cost Affective" hotels when in major cities, I had my fingers crossed when we arrived at the George Fredrick Handel hotel in Dublin, Ireland. I was glad to see it was located on a narrow, S shaped connector street and subjected to minimal traffic. The room was bright and clean, and the Reserevation clerk was friendly and courteous. Overall, a pleasant memory. Charles Myers, Washington State.

comments The Hotel was well situated for my needs, central in Dublin. The Hotel itself was ok, but local building working was disturbing. The arrangements/layout for breakfast was poor, with its close proximity to bar and the smell of stale ale.

comments The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and it is in a good location if you want to go shopping or out on the town. No car park thou. While this might not be an issue for some people it was for me. The nearest car park is the Christchurch car park and that was full when we arrived so I had to park the car in Temple Bar Car park and this of course adds expense to your trip.

comments The taps in the bathroom needed attention, one was difficult to turn off, and one spurted out at you, showering you. The sheets on the beds were very worn and some holes were apparent. The window catch was broken and it was difficult to shut the window. We were on the second floor. The information book was not up to date.

comments The hotel is adequate, rooms are clean and big enough for a short stay but nothing special. Breakfast was disappointing but sufficient although the vegetarian option was a bit strange. The staff were fine but we didn't really have many dealings with them. The bar on Saturday night was noisy until late but it didn't stop us from sleeping as we'd had enough Guiness. The main benefits of the hotel were that it was reasonably priced and in a good location, which was why we chose it. We didn't expect a wonderful hotel and it suited us (two couples) very well.

comments We stayed in the George Frederic Handel Hotel in November 2006 and had a very spacious triple room. The decor was lovely and the hotel is ideally located in the city centre within easy walking distance to Temple Bar yet secluded away from noise. Breakfast was lovely, prompt service and friendly staff. I would gladly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a central hotel which is great value for money.

comments You get what you pay for, and for the price, the place was fine. But the nightclub on Friday night was very loud. The amenities are old, so it's hit and miss I think. Our TV broke and the alarm clock was making strange sounds so we moved rooms. But the staff is friendly and you're right in the middle of it all.

comments The hotel was fine for the price, and the location was great. But I do not recommend staying on a Friday or Saturday night. The hotel Karma bar is open til 3:00 in the morning, and the party spills onto the street, and the music and video screens will keep you up all night.
