comments Positives: Very good location, warm and helpful staff, rooms fully equipped, quite satisfying breakfast (I preferred it than the typical buffet, because they served us and I must admit it wasn't a poor breakfast at all...So don't believe that as long as it is not a buffet breakfast it lacks of anything). Satisfactory price relevant to the facilities. Negatives: Building and rooms old-fashioned but still warm enough....I wouldn't consider it so much as negative, because all the central hotels in every city at least in Europe are always like that. The buildings are always old....that's why the category of the central hotels can never be more than 3 stars...If you can afford to pay much money they this type of hotels doesn't refer to you!

comments The staff was very friendly. The room was very clean. The sheets on the bed smelt lovely and had that 'just been washed' feel. The breakfast was very nice. And the price was surprisingly low. Thank you very much for a great stay! If we come back to Dublin we will stay here again!

comments I can rommend this hotel. I've been there for 2 nights. The room was like on the pictures at the webpage, clean, comfortable and silent. There was a nice porter at the reception. The irish breakfast is included in the room price and tasted good. The distance to the city centre is not far. Just 10min to walk to Temple Bar. So if I go back to Dublin again, I'll try to stay there. Bist wishes Ralf from Germany

comments The hotel is central - on the north side of the river but well within walking distance of the sights such as temple bar and the Guinness factory. Not somewhere I'd recommend to someone looking for a luxury weekend but it was clean, the beds were comfortable and the staff were friendly and accommodating - they looked after our bags for us on the day we checked out until we were ready to pick them up to go to the airport. No frills but a good place to stay if the only reason you want a room is for somewhere to sleep and get showered and changed.

comments Very dated establishment. Think of your Great Aunt's decor and this is Dergvale. Luke warm shower during both nights of our stay. Paper thin walls, so you can literally hear everything with any neighbors. The breakfast was probably the worst part of the entire stay. It was awful, down to the "waitress". BUT it was clean and outside the breakfast service staff, they were very hospitable and friendly. Answered questions and even called us a cab for our departure. The area is a bit between tourist and shady but we never felt unsafe and we were on foot, with a child in tow our entire stay. We paid 145 Euro's a night (we stayed on a weekend). Their weekday rates are much more applicable to what you get. I can't say I'd recommend it to friends or family but we also didn't let it ruin our stay while in Dublin.

comments My experience at the Dergvale Hotel exceeded my expectations by far. For the very reasonable price I paid, I not only received a private bathroom and daily housekeeping service but also a full Irish breakfast that got my day of sightseeing started out right. The staff was very helpful and friendly; they provided me with a memorable expeience that made my first trip to Dublin very satisfying. I did a great deal of research in finding the perfect hotel, and I succeeded with Dergvale.

comments I stayed at the Dergvale twice. The first room, #19, was very small for the two of us. The second one, #16, was much more comfortable. The rooms are clean and bright, the staff is friendly, the breakfast is fine. The street is quiet. Negatives: no wifi or internet access, but there are internet cafes within two blocks; no nearby dining.

comments I had read a good review of this hotel but was wary because it was inexpensive. It turned out to be delightful - very clean, lovely white sheets, foam AND feather pillows (my ;favourite). It was quiet, warm and comfortable. My ;companion said that the eggs at breakfast were the best. The TV in the room is small and high up but there is a welcoming lounge area with a large TV. There is no lift so don't take a heavy suitcase. The only odd thing was the sink taps in the bathroom - they are push down ones. The gentleman on reception was polite and helpful. The room was not big, but I have spent more and got less in Dublin previously. I have every intention of stay ing there again in the very neara future. Teresa

comments We had a wonderful stay at The Dertvale Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was more than we had expected. Tastefully decorated, very comfortable bed and extremely clean. The full Irish Breakfast was delicious. They even served us tea and biscuits upon our arrival. We wished we could have stayed longer. We will certainly recommend The Dergvale Hotel to our friends.

comments Very good value for money. Dergvale is a very clean hotel with helpfull staff and a reasonably good location (20 min. walk to Temple Bar district). Breakfast was fine. Minor downsides were the thin walls (and doors) which made it somewhat noisy (luckily the guests were quiet so it didn't bother us that much) and the short beds (not very suitable for guests >190cm). But overall it was a very nice stay and we got much more comfort and cleanliness than we expected, because of the very competitive prices.

comments Location is good due to it being not right in the centre but close enough to most places. Breakfasts were very nice and staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were fine, nothing fancy but everything you need. They had a burst pipe while I was there due to the cold weather so there were issues with heating/water but that wasn't their fault. You could request tea/coffee whenever you liked although I would have prefered it if there were facilities in the room, but that's a small thing. Noise was not a real problem although inevitably you could hear footsteps and doors sometimes. Overall I doubt there is anywhere better than this for the price.

comments The room was extraordinarily small, in particular the bathroom, inside which it was hard to move. There was just one small window, overlooking the backs of some buildings. The hotel decor has not changed for decades, and the breakfast was extensive but greasy and not well cooked. On the plus side, management was quite friendly and the place is kept clean.

comments My room was small but comfortable, perfect for the one night I needed it. I was in the back, so it was quiet and, as I was a woman traveling alone, I felt safe. It was a bit farther from the bus station than I had hoped, but the staff were very accommodating in calling a taxi.

comments Breakfast was adequate, although no tomatoes, beans or mushrooms, just protein and tea making facilities in bedroom would have been appreciated. First B&B we've stayed at with no kettle etc in room.

comments We spent several nights at the Dergvale Hotel last month and would definitely stay there again. The beds were comfortable, rooms were very clean and the staff couldn't have been nicer! (They even had a continental breakfast and cab waiting for us at 4 am so we could go to the airport!) The hotel is a short walk from O'Connell Street and in a quiet neighborhood. The Irish breakfast is fabulous!!!

comments For those seeking accomodation then i would recommend Dergvale Hotel. There is a warmth to it. It is a nice, cosy, welcoming, relaxing atmosphere. The staff are kind, polite & pleasant. My 2 weeks stay at the hotel was comfortable.

comments Dergvale Hotel is perfect if you wish to stay in Dublin for a short visit. The room was very clean and the breakfast in the morning keeps you full for a good few hours. Location is very handy as well as it's only 10 minutes walk from O'Connell Street. The service was really good and helpful regarding any questions that we had (and we had a few as it was our first time in dublin). Definetely recommend this hotel.

comments My wife and I stayed three nights at the hotel. Both Gerry and Olga were extremely nice and helpful. The hotel is very close to O Connel street and very convenient to visit all the intersting places. We strongly recommend this place for any visitor to Dublin and we will certainly stay at Dervegale in future. Many thanks to Gerry and in particular to Olga for her help and advice.

comments Good, simple, family hotel. Good shower and bed, tv reception not 100%, but good enough. Keep in mind the 72hs cancellation period, or else they'll charge you for the three days you booked but didn't stay. And no, it doesn't look as tidy as the pictures show.
