comments Love the pool and the room, and breakfast was great. Room was a bit warm when i came in. Free internet is great. Wanted to use the sauna in rhe morning, but it was switched off and would take to long to heat up. I do understand not having it all all night. Further i had a great stay. Would you be able to make a great offer for the last week of july for the family? 2 parents and two kids? Thanks. David

comments Easy to get to from Belfast direction, not far from the motorway and Airport. Great connection from hotel to Dublin via Dart the hotel runs a shuttle service to and from train station. The hotel grounds are overlooking the golf course with an exceptional view of Dublin bay and Ireland`s eye which is an island. We stayed in January which was a cold month, however, the hotel was well heated. The room we had was at the front of the hotel which captured the view, it was well furnished, wish we could take the shower home with us. The breakfast included all types of starters, followed by a full Irish breakfast, eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, mushrooms, black and white pudding with toast which was too much for us. For breakfast the next day without hesitation they cooked you what you wanted, how you wanted it. Dinner was very good the web site has a full menu. Because the break was mid January the main restaurant at night was closed, however we had dinner at the hotel`s pub (menu can be found on their web page) We would have liked the restaurant, but can understand the economics of the move, due to the month. The other time we stayed last year the restaurant was opened and it was delightful. By the way there is a good deal going for valentine period this year, have a look at the web site. The staff were outstanding at reception and dining, nothing repeat nothing, was to much trouble for them. Overall a very enjoyable short break and we would recommend the Deer Park. We did not avail of the spa, swimming pool or the golf facilities.

comments I had a very pleasant stay at the Deer Park Hotel on the 23rd of December. I picked The Deer Park for the location, (which you can't beat!), because I wanted to do some walking around Howth on my Birthday, but I was also pleasantly surprised by the warmth of both hotel and staff and the high quality and cleanliness of the leisure centre and spa. Would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to others, which is saying something as I spend half my life in hotels due to my occupation!

comments The staff where doing there outmost to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Like changing rooms for a better vicinity for my wifi. Excellent service and good food in the bar for a dinner or snack like a nice club sandwich. Room, bathroom, etc. where clean. Good bed. Nice view over the isle Eye and the Howth Castle on walking distance. This stay was business but I sure would like to come back for pleasure.

comments Nous sommes enchantés de nos 3 jours à Deer Park Hotel: chambre spacieuse, propre, salle de bain tres confortable, très bon accueil à la réception (même tardivement), bouilloire avec thé et café et surtout belle vue sur le golf et l'océan!! le tout pour un prix très raisonnable grâce aux offres sur internet. Habitués au B&B, nous sommes venus à Deer Park Hotel à défaut de ne pas avoir trouvé de B&B à des prix raisonnables. Bien nous en a pris car je ne connais pas de B&B qui offre 3 nuits pour seulement 120€.

comments We had a wonderful time. The location and view were spectacular. The rooms and bathrooms could use updating but for the price I would not complain. The service and staff were wonderful. I would highly recommend this hotel and will come back!

comments The hotel itself was in a lovely area with beautiful views from the rooms. We found the staff were extremely helpful from the moment of booking. Everyone from Reception staff, Housekeeping staff, Spa staff, Courtesy Bus driver were all very friendly and made us feel relaxed. It was truly a home from home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back again.

comments We were 4 ladies staying for one night, we had a very enjoyable stay, lovely clean rooms and fantastic view. Staff very pleasent and most helpful. Would certainly recommend this hotel. Finally a special thanks to the barman who came over to have a chat with us in the wee early hours of the morning in the residents bar - we all had a good laugh. comments Nice hotel - quiet with lovely views. The pool / recreation centre was lovely and very accessible from our room. No unnecessary frills and good value for money. The only thing I would have changed is a duvet instead of blankets on my bed. Would recommend it and would definitely stay there again.

comments Have to say one of the nicest Hotels i have stayed at. Clean modern and friendly staff backed up by some of the most stunning views of the world. comments Myself and my wife Sharon, found the Hotel to be one of the most friendly we have encountered, the staff at deer park are very helpful and have a good local knowledge, they have a bus that takes you to local restaurants ect, as it is a very long walk back up the hill to the hotel, all in all a very pleasant stay and will be going back for sure.

comments Ich war im Juni 2011 zum 3. Mal für einige Tage Gast hier. Ich fühle mich immer wieder sehr wohl hier, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt, das Personal ist freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Der Shuttle-Dienst lässt die Entfernung zur DART-Station nicht ins Gewicht fallen.Ich komme gerne wieder. Ro-Ger, Mannhein

comments We enjoyed our stay at the Deer Park Hotel immensely and I would certainly reccomend it. The setting was unsurpassable; we couldn't believe the view from our bedroom window ! The staff were very friendly and we felt that nothing was too much trouble. We were particularly impressed by the courtesy coach service. We will look forward to staying at The Deer Park Hotel again in the not too distant future.

comments We had three wonderful nights at the Deerpark, with one dinner included. It's not a 5* hotel, but it's more than adequate. The location is stunning and the view from the bedrooms is breath taking, over looking the golf course and then out to sea and Ireland's Eye. With Howth and the harbour a 20 min walk [or use their free courtesy bus] to some of the best fish restaurants in Ireland. This is a fantastic place for a break and so close to Dublin. I know that we will be back.

comments Our room was much more spacious than we expected for our family of 2 adults and 2 children. Breakfast was tasty with excellent service. The only complaint either my husband or I had was there was no clock in our room.

comments The stay at Deerpark was OK, but I guess I expected it to be a little more upmarkert and more modern. Some areas of the hotel really require updating and decorating. I realise the bar area was going through some rennovation, so maybe n the future I can stay again and see if the current updating makes a difference. Overall,the stay eas satisfaocotry.

comments All I expected it to be. Wonderful setting and peaceful surroundings with such a view over Ireland's Eye and beyond. Just a nice walk way from Ivan's Seafood restaurant. The attention from the staff was warm and welcomng.

comments I have stayed at Deer Park before and have never been disappointed. The location is perfect - gentle walk into Howth, beautiful walks thru the grounds, and wonderful views of the bay. Whenever i fly in/out of Dublin I stay either in Donabate or at Deer Park. The staff are helpful and friendly and as a solo traveller I have always been made welcome in the bar. The rooms do show some gentle wear and tear but are clean and the beds are comfortable. The location outweighs any potential concerns. I always request a room with a view of the bay and have been fortunate to do so on every visit. I recommend this hotel to my friends and will continue to stay here whenever I can.

comments Excellent location, good rooms provided, with views of Ireland's Eye and Lambay Island. This hotel has all the convenience and ease of access to Dublin but still having a feel of being out in the country. Found staff very friendly and accommodating. The staff and manager were particularly helpful when one of my party had a serious fall while out for the day, they went out of their way to help and make things comfortable for that person. Breakfast was very good, overall very good value for money, would definitely return.

comments I was extremely pleased with my stay at the Deer Park Hotel. The room was very clean, warm and very comfortable. The best part of this was the PRICE which was such great value and a welcome surprise for such a lovely hotel. The view was absolutely beautiful from my room overlooking the Bay and the Golf Course. The grounds leading up to the Hotel are really amazing. Another big bonus for us was that there was a courtesy bus which was able to bring us from the Hotel to the wonderful town of Howth each night we stayed. The customer service at Deer Park was excellent and I would definately recommend it to anyone staying in the area. I would book this hotel again without hesitation. Thank you for a lovely stay.

comments I enjoyed my stay at Deer Park, the staff are pleasant & friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable although the décor a little dated. The food is good and the golf excellent plus the bonus of a free bus ride into Howth makes this place a winner. My only gripe being the temperamental nature of the room key card system, which meant a number of return trips to reception

comments My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. We found the pool to be clean and comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful. We were pleased that we could get a ride to and from town whenever we needed one. My wife and I enjoyed the pitch and putt 18 hole course. The views of the harbor wwere fabulous from the front of the hotel. and the shuttle was a great help in getting to the train and to Howth. Laslo, Tich and Clevar were great! comments My second stay at the Deer Park this year so far. This time I was with my husband and two children : the preious one with a girl friend. Once again we had a clean well furnished room with a view to die for. We used the leisure facilities more this time and found them very good. But, where the Deer Park is outstanding is in its hospitality. From the moment we were collected by the courtesy bus at Howth Railway Station to the moment a taxi took us to Dublin Airport, the staff could not have done more for us. Not that we weren't expecting it--it had also been a feature of my earlier visit. But, it is so nice to be be looked after by people who go out of their way to be pleasant and to do as much as they can for you. One example : my husband wanted some money from the 'hole in the wall' in Howth. The courtesy bus took him down. The one in the illage was out of order. ' Not a problem'--the drier took him to a small supermarket at the other end of the village. Fine, nothing particularly special there. But when they reachec the supermarket, the driver told my husband that he still would struggle to find the machine and led him between the rows to the back of the store where the machine was tucked away, hidden in a corner. Another example that nothing is too much trouble. Would we go back? without doubt. We don't play golf. My husband used to and says for a golfer, it would be like heaen on earth.

The reception staff were very friendly on arrival and gave great service including a courtesy bus into howth but my only fault which is not a problem is that the gents and ladies toilets couldbe a bit closer to the bar. Enjoyed my stay and would definitely go back.

comments We were a group of eight not-so-young-anymore people from Switzerland (six single ladies and a married couple). Each of the ladies wanted her own room. This was no probllem for T The Deer Park. We were given double rooms for a single-room rate, all with a spectacular view of the sea. We were also given a very reasonable group rate for a five-night booking. No complaints there at all. The hotel, being in its own grounds, up on a hill, there was no traffic noise and I appreciated being able to sleep soundly every night with my window open. Since we were a group of seniors without private transport we were delighted with the hotel's courtesy transport of which we made abundant use. Always friendly, always prompt, the driver shuttled us up and down the hill whenever we asked, met our train from Dublin, took us to the beginning of the cliff walk, even gave us a tour of the peninsular. This service could not have been better. We tried out a couple of recommended restaurants in Howth but decided on our last evening that the food in the hotel was at least as good if not better. A table for the eight of us was laid both inside and out so we could decide where we would prefer to eat. A rare service indeed. Of course, there were a few points about which we were not so happy - uncleared breakfast tables, noisy ventilators and poor lighting in the bathrooms, for example. But for a five-night stay, these irritations were bearable. We enjoyed our stay at The Deer Park. Celia Saegesser

comments Can't say enough good things about Deer Park. Stayed there 2 weekends ago with my partner and 12 year old son. Absolutely amazing grounds and views of the bay. All the staff are amazing, girls at reception are really friendly and helpful. The manager of the hotel sat with us outside in the gardens and told us all about the history of the hotel and surrounding areas. Really enjoyable stay, looking forward to our next stay, have already enquired about booking again!

comments Nice hotel and grounds. Good golf and food. Pity the hotel was so quiet we had dinner in the dining room one evening and apart from the waitress we were the only people there.

comments All in all, we were extremely happy with our stay at the hotel in April. Room was spacious, very pleasantly furnished and equipped with all our personal requirements. Bathroom was also spacious and modern. Service was friendly. As our room was on the ground floor we had a view of the lawn / golf links. Although it was requested by the hotel NOt to have picnics on the lawn, we noticed that this was not complied with and there was some rubbish lying on the lawn, not far from our window. It occurred to us that anybody could peer into our room, so we had to close the curtains in daylight. I would ask the management to be somewhat stricter in this question. Maybe a large sign could be erected. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we were able to avail of such facilities as swimming pool and sauna which we found wonderfully refreshing. Also the view of the sea and Howth from the (front of) the hotel was quite breadthtaking and the setting is beautiful amid the rolling green hills. We were lucky to enjoy two days of dry weather and sunshine. Highly recommendable.

comments Our stay was in a family room which has been recently refurbished and was very comfortable with lots of room and a lovely bathroom. The pool was right next to the room which was very handy for the children. The breakfasts and 1 evening dinner served in the dining room were all lovely. The grounds and view are beautiful. Most of the staff were friendly but some could put a little more effort into a simple good morning. The actual entrance and lounge bar are a bit old style in decor but a refurbishment in these areas could make a big difference.

comments Had a fanatastic stay in the hotel, weather was beautiful and staff were outstanding, extremley accomodating and helpful. Only one downside was that the set menu in the restuarant wasnt great and I personally couldnt find anything on it that I wanted to order!

comments We (family with 2 children) had a wonderful stay at the Deer Park Hotel. The setting is just beautiful (aided by some clement Irish weather) The kids loved the pool area and if time had allowed we would have explored the grounds further. The courtesy minibus down into Howth was an added bonus. Our room was huge, modern and clean and could have adequately slept 7 people. Staff were all really helpful and food was lovely.

comments The hotel was comfortable with pleasant helpful staff. Some improvement in signage for the swimming pool and golf facilities would improve matters. The bus connection from Howth is good. Overall the hotel was suitable for our purposes. Some redecoration and improved detail arounf bathroom fittings will give a more pleasant improssion.

comments The only criticism i have of the time in the hotel is that the television was not working and although i asked at reception to have someone come lokk at it no one acted uopn my request. Apart from that lovely location. Gtrat breakfast, very quiet at night even though the horel was busy and the courtesy bus is a fabulous service.

comments We arrived just after 2pm and it took over 50 mins to get access to the room so it was not a good start as we were very tired and wanted to catch the rugby match that was on (only soccer showing in the bar). But the room was very large & clean (although carpets were very stained). On contrast the breakfast room is newly refurbished and the service in the morning they could not do enough to accomodate. Definitely a bolt hole for the avid golfer rather than a romantic getaway. There is an excellent shuttle bus facility (free) to anywhere in Howth and the driver was very accomodating and friendly. There are wonderful views from the hotel. But found it very expensive for the standard of accomodation provided as we could have got a 4 star hotel in the city for less but booked the deer park for convenience of location as attending a party in Howth that night.

I am sorry you had to wait to get to your room - however check in time is 3pm and whilst we do our best to allow earlier check in, it is not always possible especially if the guests in the room check out late. We are doing a lot of work on the rooms at present and Room 260, which is the large room you were assigned, has now been painted and has a new carpet. Glad you enjoyed our free courtesy coach - it is really popular with our guests. Regarding the price - for a busy Saturday night in Dublin area, I do not think €85.00 for bed and breakfast for 2 people is very expensive. I do hope you enjoyed the party in Howth. Kind regards. comments Being a wheelchair user I found the hotel extremely accessible. The bedroom was nice very big and easy to get around. The bathroom was also very accessible too. The food was nice, the staff was also ery nice and helpful. The only complaint that I have was that on our final day while finishing our breakfast, I noticed mould on our toast.. My partner had consumed some toast and on the crust there was more mould. 2 days later my partner suffered very bad diarrhea. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. Oh and fix the TV reception.

comments The Deerpark is a pleasant 3 Star Hotel in a stunning location. The views are spectacular. The decor is dated, 70's ish, could do with a makeover but that is overcome by the pleasant & very helpful staff. In particilar, Linda at Reception is most helpful & with her cheery disposition, is most welcoming. Nothing seems too much trouble for her. The room was adequate. The buffet breakfast was tasty. It is worth considering if you want a value for money base, but if you're looking for opulence & luxury, pay the extra & go elsewhere. If you are walking, the entrance is a challange, it's all uphill & a good 10-15 minutes, so if you have much luggage, you would be well advised to grab a taxi.

comments Staff are very friendly and helpful. Only adverse comment would be that the heat in the room was not not sufficient for the time of year. We were there on a very cold day and were unable to increase the heat to an appropriate level.

During the winter months we operate a refurbishment programme and the room you stayed in is due for a make over!! comments The hotel is pleasantly located, rooms are spacious and a little old-fashioned (with character), but clean, very quiet (!) and comfortable. Beds & mattresses good. Wonderful pool & sauna. Staff friendly and helpful. Very good value for money. Hint: From most countries, bring an adapter for EC plugs).

comments My son and I enjoyed a great four night break at this lovely Irish Country hotel. From the moment we turned the car into the drive and followed it up past the castle, we felt at home. The hotel was very welcoming and comfortable and the views from our rooms to Ireland's Eye were fabulous even through the mist of the rain on Tuesday morning. All the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. It was difficult to chose what to eat from the dinner menu as there was such a good selection of dishes The choice for the self service breakfast was equally tempting from the traditional cooked breakfast to the cold table and cereals as well as pastries and muffins. If you are feeling energetic the gym and the pool will help you to get into shape. Our favourite activity though was the golf on offer. We played the two nine hole courses but we could have played the 18 hole course or the short course. Many golf courses in England make you feel uncomfortable as though you shouldn't be on their hallowed greens, not so at the Deer Park, you can hire clubs if you haven't travelled with your own and they welcome all levels of experience. The hotel mini bus that takes you into the village of Howth was a fantastic bonus, we used it in the morning to take us to the station, in the evening to take us into the village and any time we wanted to return to the hotel. We could ask at any time and we always got the same answer-I'll get the driver or I'll send the bus down. What great service. We can't wait for our next visit.

comments A great location in Howth and great view. Breakfast was also well presented and prapared. Only draw back is that is away from the town of Howth a bit so you either need a car or call a taxi.

comments The hotel is a real gem. Helpful staff, excellent bar food and great breakfast ( turn up early). The views from the 2nd floor rooms and the guest sitting room are superb. The swimming pool and leisure facilities are real bonus besides the golf.

comments Very nice resort. The staff was very helpful and always smiling. Nice rooms and beds. Old TV's in the rooms, why?? A little bit to far from the city centre (Dublin).

We are in the process of refurbishing all our bedrooms - to date 15 rooms have been completed and we will be starting on some more now that we are into the quieter time of the year. We are about 8.5 miles from Dublin City Centre but there is easy access with public transport - I do hope you availed of our free courtesy coach which brings guests to and from Howth DART (train) station where there is a regular service to Dublin City Centre. comments My wife and I thought the Deer Park Hotel was an excellent choice and we were only sorry that we just had the one night there. The rooms, location and staff were first class. comments As a surprise, my two children had organised flowers and champagne to be in the room upon our arrival (silver wedding anniversary.)Subsequent comments from them were extremely complimentary - they admitted they had phoned/e-mailed on several occasions, to ensure all was in place, and they commented that the staff went out of their way to be helpful. Similarly with our own experiences during our stay. Most impressed.

comments The Location on the golf course was good with excellent views over the course and coastal area. Unfortunatly parts the hotel were showing signs of tiredness although reasonably clean however, the recreational areas eg: indoor Swimming pool,Sauna, Steam room and Gym were very good and very clean and could not be faulted. The full irish Breakfast was pleasant and acceptable. For the price we paid through Book assist represented good value for money although, had we paid the full price I may have been dissapointed. with the location of this hotel and effort made by the hotel to bring up to prestine standard this realy could be very good

comments We enjoyed our stay. Great swimming pool, nice rooms. Little touches might help. The cooked breakfast was not very fresh. A swimming costume spinner would be better than plastic bags. Grounds magnificent but golf course does not make it clear. As to the foot paths nice outlook.

comments we enjoyed our stay at deer park.the only down side was there was a wedding on and they could not serve any food as they could not cope after telling us food would be served if we waited 1 hour,by which time we had taken severals drinkis and could not drive anywhere.so we went to bed with nothing to eat fom lunchtime. that was our only complaint and we did make this to the hotel.

comments It was absolutely brilliant. We arrived on a rainy evening, got a lift by a passing staff member. We were then amazed to find the best hotel we'd stayed in on Ireland, with pool, saunas and such. The staff was very friendly, and enjoyed retelling some interesting local legends and giving suggestions as to what to see while we were on Howth. Warmly recommended.

comments THe hotel was moderate. It is more for golfers than anything else. Staff was helpful. The one problem I faced was getting from the town center to the hotel without having to use a taxi. It is a one mile walk uphill to the property.
