Having planned an early arrival into Dublin Airport so we got a full first day in the city we were hoping we could leave our cases at the hotel while we took off.We not only left our cases at 10.00am but the hotel receptionist also asked for a room to be cleaned for us quickly and 15 minutes later we were in it and making a cup of tea!The hotel has history attached to it and the rooms are large with high ceilings. We had booked a twin but were given a triple which also gave us even more room. The bathroom was huge with the longest and deepest bath I have ever seen...I could just about float in it!The water was instantly hot whatever time of day it was.Beds were comfortable and plenty of clothes storage space.Enough tea/coffee /milk so you didn't have to keep asking for more.Only drawback to our room was that the hotel is shaped like a U and if you had the inside rooms then they looked into each other over a 20 foot gap.Wouldn't have been a problem but the windows had no nets so you had to draw the curtains if you wanted to lounge about in your smalls which wasn't so good. However this was mentioned to the receptionist and she said she would ask if something could be done at the windows.Everything else was brilliant, really clean, friendly staff who couldn't do too much for you.Didn't use the restaurants as there are so many near.Try the deli 3 doors down,Fallon & Byrne, for a huge bowl of fresh porridge with masses of fresh fruit for breakfast...to die for.Loads of fresh fruit and deli food they will heat up and you can eat there. Local buses are regular and really cheap and day tours to Galway and Belfast , Giant's Causeway are readily bookable at the tourist information for about £40. The hotel is in a really good position for accessing all of the attractions in Dublin and just a 2 minute walk to airport bus stops, hop on hop off tourist buses, local buses and coaches leaving on tours. 5 mins from the shopping area and walking distance to all major attractions.3 minutes from River Fallon. You have until 12 midday to check out and they will hold your case for you until you want to leave for the airport or ferry so you can enjoy the rest of the day again. I'd certainly stay there again as it was reasonably priced, centrally located, comfortable with the friendliest and most helpful staff I have ever come across.

Clean, warm, dry, and had fantastic charm. Was merely minutes away from the temple bar, also very close to grafton st and not far from o'connell st. I was surprised at how cheap it was. The people at reception were very nice and helpful. Definately enjoyed my stay and if I'm ever back in dublin, wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!

the rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable with quality linens. we had much fun in the library bar's relaxed and inviting atmosphere. due to a blizzard in the northeastern usa we had to change our arrival dates and the hotel staff was curitious and extremely accomodating. we would recomend the central hotel to our friends and family.

great location, comfortable beds, it is one of the noisiest hotels I have ever stayed in, you hear absolutely all the street noise from every room, we had 3 rooms & everyone in our group complained that they couldn't sleep because of the noise

Excellent hotel. They were able to give us a room as soon as we arrived (which was well before check in time). The rooms were kept clean and were a good size and comfortable. The nights were nice and quiet and we were given a room away from a fire door, which is what we requested. Overall, the hotel is perfect if you are staying for a couple of days. It is centrally located and within walking distance of most anything in the city.

Staff was pleasant and helpful. Our bed & room were large and comfortable. The breakfasts were quick & delicious. We took advantage of a 3 night stay price and are quite satisfied with the price. We LOVE the library and enjoyed spending a few hours with tea or a Guinness. Only disappointment was that High Tea was not available. Just a lovely hotel. Next time we'll ask for a room not on the street but luckily I did bring ear plugs and my husband sleeps through anything! Thanks for a lovely time. We hope to stay there on our next trip. Great hotel, great location, great breakfast and great staff - the low powered lighting, hairdryer and shower could do with a boost but otherwise had a grand time in a very comfortable and generous room for four.

The pressure of the shower was not great. Also the water was far form hot. We complained to the reception. After they had sent someone to fix the problem, the water was still not really hot.
