comments The hotel was perfectly situated for our stay. The room was quite nice and the bed very comfortable. There was no noise from outside and the blackout blinds were great. The bar food was very tasty and good value. However, the heating was not working in the room and nothing was done when we reported it. The internet access was extremely slow and impossible to use as every site just timed out.

comments Buswell's is a fantastic location. Our room was spacious and located in a quiet part of the hotel as requested. The breakfast buffet was disappointing but the omlette I ordered was very nice. Overall a very pleasant stay, very couteous staff and excellent value for a city center location.

comments I have already submitted my comments via the card provided in the room. As far as I remember I deposited it in a box at reception. Myself and my wife have stayed in Buswells a number of times and have always enjoyed it, though it can be a bit hit-and-miss as regards the room, some being more attractive than others. I appreciate that this is unavoidable in a hotel that was originally town houses and that the addition of annexes and extensions over the years means that some rooms will be rather dark even when it is bright day outside, but it is the main reason that we would not lightly recommend Buswells to people who prefer more uniformity in rooms. We like the distinctive atmosphere and style of the hotel, but it might not suit all tastes. All in all however, we found our most recent stay excellent value all things considered, especially location. We took all our evening meals there too, which is unusual for us.

comments I have one comment. I was staying in room 113. Right outside the window there is a piece of equipment that comes on at 6 am (later on Sunday) and throbs continuously until about 9 pm. The noise is considerable, and it could be reduced if this room only had effective double or triple glazing. I hope this can be considered.

comments A nice atmosphere and a sense of care. Its a but messy, but pleasant enough. Greeting at the desk and breakfast are great and late night welcome is good. Also, you are very central and offer very good value. Don't worry about yourselves, just carry on without changing the basic way in which this delightful hotel carries on.

comments Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 stays at with you over the last 10 days. Top marks to Reception, Bar/Restaurant Staff (Anna & Irenie) and of course the porter (Paddy). The only complaint relates the staff who do the breakfasts in the in the restaurant (two older women and a younger lass - all on duty 8/1/12) These 3 are more interested in ignoring us (your paying customers) and sitting at the till talking than doing their job. We actually had to get up from our table and go over and ask if we could place our breakfast order - not good enough

comments This is the worst nights sleep I have had in a long time. We came to Dublin to get away for one night of relaxation and actually went home feeling worse due to the lack of sleep. There was no sound proofing in the room at all which is unbelievable for a city centre hotel and hence we heard everything and everyone that walked along the street. I would not recommend to any of my friends or family to stay in your hotel. On a positive note - Breakfast was nice.

comments Hotel was very busy with private Christmas parties but the service was unaffected and my room was clean, tidy and just what I needed for a short stay. Walking distance to my meeting venues was a real bonus as well - as was the location for the bus stop from the Airport - literally right across the street from the hotel.

comments I was pleasantly surprised with my first visit to Buswells. We booked a triple room which was very spacious and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is served in a lovely dining room where the staff were so obliging and friendly. The girls on reception were lovely and very helpful. The location is ideal for shops and restaurants. The hotel is very good value for money if you book early and from my experience my friends and I would have no hestation in recommending this hotel and will definately return!

comments We enjoyed our stay in room 98; 2 minor problems, we couldnt figure out how to turn the heating on in the room [which was cold in between the central heating coming on], on our 2nd day the room was not cleaned; the cleaner phoned to say she was very busy & offered to come but it was late afternoon & we were taking a rest, nothing serious.

comments Lovely room, beautiful hotel, great location and very helpful and friendly staff. Service in the lounge at dinner time is not great however, we dined twice over our stay and had to wait quite a while to get our orders taken and the food took a while also. The staff in the lounge were very nice, it just seemed that they were understaffed as they were rushed off their feet. Great stay though overall and would definitely come back.

comments From dispersed global locations (Syria, Holland, Singapore, Paris and UK) my family of 12 decided on Buswells hotel for my dad's surprise 80th birthday (02-04 December 2011) event. Our decision to choose Buswells for its location, comfort, quality and cost did not disappoint! Our stay at the hotel was fantastic and surpassed all our expectations. The hotel had a real friendly, homely ambiance, and not too snooty, if that makes sense?! The staff was very helpful and courteous, even during the booking process they were very considerate and listened to our needs, especially given the ‘surprise’ aspect of our trip! My family and I would highly recommend this hotel and we will be staying again next time we are in Dublin.

comments I just got back from my annual weekly trip to Dublin where I always stay at Buswells. Why Buswells you may ask? Well Buswells has been a Dublin institution for many years where you can experience genuine and timeless Dublin hospitality. The staff is great, the location is prime, and I particularly like having a leisurely breakfast served in Trumans Restaurant with crisp linen tablecloths and serviettes.

comments Overall my stay was OK. I found the staff very polite and accomodating. The room size was a bit dissapointing. I was in one of the rooms towards the front of the hotel. I found the traffic noise to be realtively loud, but then again this is the middle of Dublin. My one comment would be that the windows are old and in character with the hotel but at the same time tend to let a large amount of noise through as there is no double glazing. I was staying at the hotel to attend exams at Trinity College and overall found it to be a good base for the couple of days in Dublin.

comments I previously stayed in Buswells in 2008. That is why I chose to stay there again in 2011. I can heartily recommend anyone to stay there, as it is very central to all the sights and tourist attractions that Dublin has to offer. My wife was not in the best of health when we stayed at the hotel, but the consideration, thoughtfulness, help, and consideration shown by the staff was exceptional. In particular, Vicky, Darius, Paddy, and Patrick are to be commended for their attention to our needs. If. or when I return to Dublin, Buswells will be my number one port of call. Thank you for a most pleasant and enjoyable stay.

comments Beautiful hotel, right in the heart of Dublin, very reasonable rates. I booked a triple room for my two grown sons and myself. The room was small, especially for three adults. Turns out the boys didn't like the "togetherness" (and my snoring), so we reserved an additional single! I will definitely stay at Buswells again, hopefully in the near future, and most likely sans sons!

comments I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Buswell's in Dublin - I can't remember the last time I had such a good stay at a hotel. I particularly appreciated the quiet room, and the ambiance of the hotel - it was like being in another era - but 'not on purpose' (i.e. not fabricated to appear as such). Full of praise for every aspect - I'll definitely come back.

comments We enjoyed our stay very much. The location could not be better for visiting sites and museums. The rooms were nice enough and the staff, I would say, was professiomally courteous rather than warm and friendly, as one might find in a B and B, but that was fine. We will definitely stay again if we return to Dublin. Rose Levering

The presentation of the hotel was immaculate. As one of my friends commented we were waiting for Ms Marble to appear. It is such a cosy hotel in everyway that I certainly will be staying there again and also will be recommending to friends. I am Irish living in the UK as you will of course recognize from my sir name and I have to say the Irish are fantastic at cusomer service without going overboard. Thank you for a lovely weeknd.

comments All of the staff was extremely engaging and helpful. We had difficulty first finding the hotel (unclear verbal instructions from the car rental company), but no problem getting out of town following the advice of Paddy, the concierge. Room was great and food at the bar was excellent. Ideal central location (my wife was interested in exploring genealogy records which we found at the nearby libray and office of valuation). Trinity college was also nearby. We didn't use the car at all while we were in town-no need.

The atmosphere is so congenial. And it is right in the centre of where we want to be in Dublin - beside the National Museum, National Art Gallery, bookshops, Trinity College, Stephen's Green, National Concert Hall, theatres, Grafton Street and all the shopping areas. comments My son and I were delighted with Buswell's -- by far the best pick of all the places we stayed in the 3 capital cities we visited. It is elegant, comfortable, and the location couldn't be better-suited for tourism -- within walking distance of St. Stephen's Green, O'Connell Street, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin Tower, and the shopping district. (And O'Neills Pub!) The hotel staff were cheerful, outgoing, and solicitous. We especially enjoyed the multiple lounges/sitting areas on the first floor, all of which seemed to be served by eager wait staff. Buswells Hotel and the people who work there gave us our initial impressions of Ireland, and they were outstanding. I will never stay anyplace else when I visit Dublin in the future. Thank you for the wonderful welcome to your wonderful country. -Ellen Washington, D.C.

comments Buswells was fantastic! For the location (which was perfect), we could not find a better price. The desk staff and porter were enormously helpful in finding restaurants and sites to visit. The morning my son and I wanted to see Glendalough and hike in the Wicklow mountains, Mary at the front desk spent a lot of time for us looking up bus companies, calling, confirming prices and destination. We had a perfect day! Buswells has even called us to tell us that we left behind a pair of binoculars in our room--"can we send them to you?" Phenomenal service, incredibly friendly and accommodating. Thank you!

comments I appreciated my stay at Buswells on several counts. It is a charming old style hotel that is located centrally but sufficiently removed from the busiest areas, so that we were able to sleep on a Saturday night when Dublin was partying hearty! Nonetheless, we were close to one of the most famous traditional music pubs (O'Donoghues), where we enjoyed an evening of good music. Perhaps, most important, we very much appreciated the assistance of your staff, particularly your concierge/porter Patrick who helped my wife find a nearby emergency dentist on a Sunday.

comments Excellent location. Very nice visual appeal. My overall rating would be somewhat uneven. 2nd floor stairs somewhat challenging with variable tread spacing. Tub hot water exceedingly slow - about 4 mins. Breakfast setting is fine for those who arrive when it opens, but there are NO replacements foods provided thereafter. Breakfast and evening lounge appear to be understaffed. Regardless enjoyable experience.

comments Very good stay at the hotel. I'm a previous customer and plan to continue as a customer every time I visit Dublin. The only thing I would recommend would be to put hair conditioner along with the other amenities available in the bathroom, as I flew to Dublin with only hand luggage, and could not carry shampoo and conditioner with me.

comments We had a room for 3 people, which was very small for 3 adults. However the very helpful and friendly staff made up for this. I would absolutley recommend Buswells to anyone staying in the city centre, great value for money, extremely comfortable and a great atmosphere, but do ask if they have a larger room if they're is 3 of you!

comments The hotel is really nice and the staff are lovely. The rooms could do with a bit of an update, as mine was rather tired. I was expecting a twin room and ended up with a very small single. Also it would be nice to be informed by notices or hotel staff about disruptions in Dublin, i.e. I walked out of my hotel to find 20 tractors parked in the road.

The hotel is clean, the staff are very friendly and beds large and comfortable. Add to that a perfect location for seeing the sites, whilst being on one of the quieter streets and you have a perfect combination. We'll have to come back because there's still so much more to see.

comments This hotel is very charming. It has a traditional elegant feel to it. I was here from the U.S. with my teenage son and his friend because they were competing in the World Championships of Irish Dancing which were being held in Dublin. Our triple room was somewhat small but still adequate. Very clean and beds were quite comfortable. Only complaint is that the room was too warm and there was no way to regulate it. The best thing about this hotel was the staff at the front desk. They went out of their way to help us with tourist questions, directions, suggestions, etc. The location of the hotel is exactly what we wanted. Close to Grafton Street, Temple Bar, Trinity College and other tourist attractions but is located on a quiet side street directly across from Leinster House. I would definitely stay here again.

comments I have stayed at Buswell's a number of times over the years, and each time I have remarked the attentiveness and courtesy of the staff and the beautifully congenial atmosphere. One example: I was sitting by the window in the lobby one afternoon, reading the paper, and after a time Paddy, the concierge, came over and asked me if I'd like something to drink. Such a politeness. And it works. It will be what comes to mind the next time I think of coming to Dublin and ask myself where I'd like to try to stay.

comments The hotel was perfect for our needs. Well located making exploring the city very easy. The lobby was very welcoming and warm and we felt quite comfortable. We enjoyed the winding hallways, and though the room was small, it suited us very well. There were only two things that kept me from rating the stay a 5 - the view from our room was of a rooftop and another building, not the city, which for first time visitors to Dublin was a little disappointing and the shower in our room didn't seem to work. I would still highly recommend a stay at Buswells to any of my friends traveling to Dublin.

comments We found Buswells to be a very welcoming, traditional hotel which is very conveniently loacted for central Dublin. The cooked Irish breakfast in particuler was very good and it makes a pleasant change to have it served to your table rather than having to help yourself to a buffet style arrangement. One minor criticism, the bedroom temparature was too high at night and it made it more difficult to cool down by opening the window as our bedroom was located above a noisy air conditioning system probably linked to the kitchen? Apart from that, we enjoyed our stay and your service. Thank you

comments The hotel is in a fantastic location. The staff are very friendly. Only adverse comment is the face that I stayed at the hotel 2 years ago and since then I found the decor and general state of the hotel in need of a make over. The rooms were particularly tired looking, and cold, although in there defense it was -2 outside. Breakfast was fab.

comments Great location. Satisfactory room and extremely comfortable bed - highlight of stay. However, felt receptionist on arrival did very little to make us feel welcome. Just seemed to be going through the motions. Then a member of the cleaning staff came into reception, obviously under pressure and when asked what was wrong she said there was no staff on. Your doorman Paddy was wonderful - couldn't do enough when giving us information regarding buses. Someone like that is an invaluable asset to any business - hang on to him! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

comments i have given a 3 rating because our room was extremely cold. i stayed the hotel on the weekend the 20th of november and the 27th nov. the first weekend we arrived in our hotel bedroom at 3.30p.m no heat on i asked the receptionist could she turn the heat on her response was very dismissive and said heat was on a timer. the second weekend similar response however we were offered a heater from the cleaning staff. the staff were all nice however the lady on reception needs to improve her communication skills with guests. does she not enjoy her. job? the hotel is very convenient, but needs to be upgraded, but the prices are good value. the hotel day porter also need to be commended for his lovely manner.

comments We found Buswells Hotel very welcoming and extremely comfortable, with friendly staff who could not have been more helpful. Although quite near to Grafton Sreet the hotel is tucked away in a surprisingly quiet spot. and there was no traffic noise in our room. We would happily recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be within easy reach of shops, restaurants and museums while being well removed from the associated hustle and bustle. We won't look any further than Buswells when we next return to Dublin!

comments As a family of 4 we had a great stay at Buswells and would definitely return. The location is ideal for shopping and educ visits. Bar and reataurant and overall surrounding are second to none and breakfast was super. Free WIFI access was a hit with the children and the discounted parking in the next street was very handy. My only down side was the camp bed put up in our triple room. This bed reduced floor space considerably and had we known the hotel had rooms with 2 doubles we would have booked one. Overall a great experience at Buswells and I would definitely return.

comments We really enjoyed our stay at Buswells and felt welcome the minute we arrived. Everyone we met in the hotel had a very friendly nature and we were able to relax immediately. The food is first class so we ended up eating in the bar more often than we'd expected. We even ended up asking the lady on reception why the hotel wasn't 4 star as it certainly has all of the attributes of a 4 star hotel - don't be fooled by it being a 3 star superior. The hotel location was also ideal - far enough out of the centre to be quiet but close enough that it's a short walk to the main shopping areas. We'd definitely stay at Buswells again.

The hotel reception and lounge area, are so welcoming and comfortable. The room was nicely decorated and homely. The breakfast was freshly cooked, to order. To top it all off, the location is great. comments We found this hotel on the internet - so we didn't know what to expect...imagine how pleasantly surprised we were with the great check in service and beautiful facilities! The building is beautiful and the rooms provide modern comfort in an old world style. I was particularly impressed with the pleasant greeting (by name!) when I passed by the check in desk the day after we checked in. The only drawback to our stay was the extremely brusque breakfast service. Our server must have been having a very bad morning. We'll definitely stay at Buswells again when we are in Dublin...though we might skip breakfast.

comments I was more than satisfied with my room. I stayed in two different rooms and I really liked the shower in rm 206. The directions to the rooms can be confusing. One would expect that rm 203 would be below or lower than rm 206 when it was directly above. The hotel staff is very helpful.

comments IT was a great location - we loved it. however, being from the states, we are used to having our own controls in the room - so at times it was slightly warmer than we wanted it to be. Overall thought- a fabulous time and if we ever make it back to Dublin, we will definitely stay there for sure. THanks!

comments We've stayed a Buswells a few times and each time is just lovely. the service is good, the food is delicious and the surroundings just beautiful and wonderfully located. One problem was as one gets off the elevator on floor 1, there is a stain on the carpet which should be removed immediately. Other than that it was wonderful.

comments I booked three rooms for our family member group of 7 for three nights. We found almost everything about our stay over the August Bank Holiday to be extremely satisfactory. The staff was very helpful in supplying requested information prior to arrival (via email) and when we were in Dublin. The rooms were very quiet and restful, the old world ambience of the hotel was appealing, and the bar/lounge was quite nice. The only thing I would change was the that the room with the double and single beds was a bit small. I will definitely stay at Buswells on my next trip to Dublin.

comments I already filled out the comment questionnaire on departure and left it with the hotel receptionist. My comments on that were that the check in was poor; departure was fine. We were not greeted in a friendly manner - that's fine with our party we are Irish, but I am thinking of other visitors to our Country, who like to be welcomed and made feel special. The hotel is in a great location and is value for money. However, what would furhter enhance its potential, is some refurbishment, carpet replacement, painting, new wallpaper. While the hotel is clean, it looks extremley tired and can give an impression of being grotty. Also the addition of air conditioning. The other problem with staying in the front rooms is the poor homeless man across the road; who is loud at times during the night and the early morning. The food in the bar is good and value for money; however the breakfasts are not, hence opting for room only. Having said all of the above I would recommend Buswells and stay there again, based on the location and value for money. Hoever, the addition of the features as mentioned above would greatly enhance its potential.

comments Our family room (for two adults and a child) had a double and a single bed, not just a fold-out couch for the child, and all this at a cheaper price than the usual holiday-inn type hotel. The quilts were soft down, the pillows were soft feather and the bed linen was pure, fine-thread cotton. Care and thought had gone into making guests comfortable. The location was central yet peaceful. We loved it and will certainly stay there again. Thank you.

comments The hotel is beautiful! We wondered if we really belonged when we walked into the beautiful lobby. The service was very good and the price was great. Our room was nice and clean, and it was the best shower we had on on our whole 10 day trip. The only parts that we weren't satisfied with were the lack of air condition and the unreliable internet connection. The woman at the front desk said they were having some issues with that though. The view from our room was also a dissapointment too. We could literally touch the air conditioning unit of another building and hop out our window on to their roof as well. This made me nervous with having the windows open and accessible to others. Overall, our stay was great! Buswells is a great hotel in a very convenient part of town. We would definitely stay again!

comments This stay in Dublin was my seventh, each with various friends and family and each in a different hotel. All the previous hotels, all of a good quality, but they had something missing...fabulous Irish staff!! On our next visit to Dublin there will be no searching for a hotel..it WILL be Buswells. Everything was perfect. Our flight arrived early morning, we arrived at the hotel expecting to leave our bags and return later. Not necessary, the rooms were ready. They were lovely and clean with good facilities. The hotel is very central and the area felt very safe. The breakfast was lovely-toast in a toast rack and tea and coffee in a pot plus a chouce of hot breakfasts. ALL the staff were kind and helpful. The hotel even organised a bus to take many of the guests to Croke Park for the concert we were attending. Great service!! The bar was also very comfortable and the food very good. All in all I can't find fault with Buswells and will definitely stay again.

I booked private dining in one of the conference rooms for the group of friends I was staying with and everything went really well. The room set-up was great, I was able to decorate the room as well and the food was fantastic. The duty manager and receptionist on the night were both really helpful, as were the waiting staff and others throughout our stay, including the conference and events team who booked our private dining for us. comments We had an extremely enjoyable 2-night stay at Buswells at the end of May. We had a magnificently appointed suite (Room 100), very quiet & luxurious. We were in the heart of Dublin & within walking distance of everywhere - we even walked to & from Louies Bistro in Mountjoy Square (on the north side of the city). We had a very keenly priced full Irish breakfast which set us up for the day. The staff were all very welcoming & friendly & always available to assist - the concierge even went to the bother of getting us an umbrella. And at €89.00 per room per night truly amazing value. A must visit.

comments The stay was OK. Pleasant check-in staff and no problems in that area. I didn't eat in the hotel, so can't comment on the food. But I was kept awake by a) the traffic noise outside which was fairly constant, or was delivery lorries/dustcarts; and b) the heating that came on in the middle of the night (2010's hottest day of the year). I couldn't open the window due to the traffic noise, so it got unbearable and I checked out 2 hours earlier than I needed to. There is no aircon in this hotel and that, along with double-glazing, are the two things that could make this a much better hotel.

comments Old World Charm in the center of Dublin. Great atmosphere, comfortable beds, wonderful buffet breakfast, pricey 10-17 Euro, but offered in an elegant setting. Bar menu reasonable price, 10 Euro, and very tasty paninis. Walking distance to Trinity College, Molly Malone statue, and excellent inexpensive shopping. Only complaint was the water temperature at the sink and shower. No hot water at sink for 15 minutes. Reception came and readjusted shower control. The hot water became available within 5 minutes BUT too much water is being wasted due to inefficient system. In this time of businesses becoming GREEN, wasting water in order to perform to basic hygiene is not acceptable. Unable to regulate shower but persevered. Front desk offered to move us BUT TOO MUCH TROUBLE FOR US TO DO SO, especially staying only two nights. First night we were tired and just wanted to be able to relax. Second day, we discovered the problem continued during the morning rituals and we were leaving the next day. We decided to grin and bear it! I did think we might possibly get a little discount for our trouble, but were told they did offer to move us. (Obviously they are unaware of how inconvenient this is for travelers who move to a different hotel every third night . To move again is really not appealing and adds to the stress of travel. I'm thinking they offer this because customers say no to this option.)

comments Buswell's is a wonderful place to stay. Just as a hotel should be. We appreciated everything from the good sized room, to the classical music played at breakfast. While Buswell's maintains the low rate advertised on the internet, we will continue to stay there and enjoy it. Unfortunately a higher rate would preclude our return.

comments Hello. On my booked date, I've been unable to come, due to the volcanic activity. I've spoken at the phone with Ms O'Connor, that was kind and accepted my refund request. From this point of view, your comprehension about the situation let me think that you have a good service. Next time I'll plan to come to Dublin, I'll try again to make a reservation with you! comments I didn't actually stay, I booked the hotel for my parents as they were going to the National Concert Hall that evening. Buswells is in a perfect location, during the afternoon they were able to take a stroll around Stephens green and do some shopping on Grafton Street and that evening had a lovely meal in the hotel and after went to the National Concert Hall, they did all this without taking one taxi! Everything is is walking distance. The staff are very welcoming, great accommodation, an ideal hotel for a city break. They had a very enjoyable stay, as they always do - they stay at your hotel anytime they go to the Concert Hall and always rave about the hotel. 5* from them. Thank you, Meliosa Fitzgibbon (on behalf of my parents, Paudie and Meliosa FItzgibbon)

comments Although our stay at Buswells was good overall, I have two comments, which hopefully will help you offer a better service. When we booked our stay online, we made a special request for a quiet room because my wife and I are poor sleepers. I later telephoned to make sure that this message had been noted. However, we were allocated a room on the first floor immediately above the bar. On our second night (Friday 9th April), a group came into the bar area at about midnight and we were kept awake until 2:30am with the noise from this group. The noise was not particularly loud, being at a level expected for a largish group in animated conversation. Nevertheless, given our specific wish for a quiet room, I was not impressed with this choice of room for us. We were moved to a top floor room, 307, for the rest of our stay. On the following night of Saturday 10th April, all went well until some young ladies in adjacent rooms to us returned from a late night out at about 3am and kept us awake until I went into the corridor and asked them to be more considerate. Clearly the sound insulation of your top-floor rooms is inadequate. I hope these comments will allow you to allocate your rooms with greater care.

comments My son and I enjoyed visiting Dublin. Bushwells' location is great for tourists, convenient to many interesting sites. The staff especially the desk personnel are friendly and eager to please. We were disappointed that our room was so small! It was built and furnished for "little people" The bar and dining personnel were outstanding. We look forward to visiting Dublin again, and staying at Bushwells. Sincerely, James T Sugrue Yonkers, NY

comments Fantastic hotel. We loved staying there. The staff could not have been nicer or more fun especially with our young son. The hotel has a lovely olde world feel about it, very elegant yet relaxed and friendly. I would love to stay there again. Our room was a little small and a bit faded but in a way it added to the charm of the place. The bathroom was new and modern with a great power shower, our towels and sheets were of high quality and our bed was warm and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and couldn't recommend it highly enough to anyone who was thinking of staying there. It's also perfectly located for visiting Dublin as you can walk to all the main tourist spots within a few minutes. It's also on main bus routes and the LUAS is off the main road. We went to St Stephens Green everyday with bread for the ducks and swans curteosy of Buswells hotel staff............ a lovely touch and very special for our little boy! We loved the whole 5 nights we spent there. Thank you to all the staff for their lovely attention and service.

comments I flew my parents to meet me in Ireland for their 36th anniversary. We started in Dublin and ended in Dublin. The first place we stayed at wasn't Busswells as it was booked, but I checked for the last couple of nights and it was open so we decided to try it out. We walked by it and checked it out during the first few days just to see if it really was somewhere we wanted to stay. It's a beatiful hotel, we were impressed. When we checked in everyone was friendly and assisted with out luggage which wasn't expected and a nice surprise. I had a single room and my parents had a double, both were very good. The double had more than enough room for the luggage and movement around the room, the singe had them same - the room was about half the size and all i had was a backpack and a carry on size suitcase (you might have more of a struggle if you have a larger suitcase than that in a single room - or at least in the one I stayed in). The bar and lounge are are very nice and the good is very good. The restaurant in the morning for breakfast is also very nice and the breakfast buffet is pretty much the standard with both continental and hot available. All in all if I get to go back to Ireland, i'd definatly opt to stay there again.

comments As per usual in most Irish hotels, the bathroom in Buswells (overall) was just about adequate, with the shower area being particularly awful. Don't get me wrong, it was spotlessly clean, but Why can't you fit a double-lined shower curtain like, say, ALL American hotels of ANY standard? It would be so much more comfortable for the guest and less messy for the cleaning staff I'm sure i.e, water on the floor etc. Having said that, the staff and the atmosphere in the bar were both great, and the breakfast was really excellent. I have to say we enjoyed our stay and we would return. Oh yeah, the bedroom was comfortable and clean, but perhaps a little bit old fashioned!

This is the kind of small detail that can make or ruin a trip. If the invtation 'any special requests' on your booking site is to mean something, then the request for a quiet room has to be thougth through. Othwrewise, I enjoyed my stay.

comments We had a lovely couple of days in Dublin. The hotel was where I stayed about 40 years ago. Buswells was delightful. the staff were very helpful and friendly. the room was lovely. the location of Buswells is perfect. Its nice and handy in a peaceful location but near to everything. the breakfast was very substantial and set us up for a busy day out and about and was very good value at 10 euros. It was my daughters first visit to Ireland and had been booked as a surprise Xmas present. she thought the hotel was lovely. It is full of charm and character. As we walked in from the cold on arrival, the reception area was very warm and welcoming and looked charming with its Xmas tree. The bar is also very nice and I acquired the taste of Irish Coffee. We are already talking about returning later this year and I will be recommending it to my friends. I would like to thank the staff for a lovely stay which was all too short a visit!! Many thanks.

comments My two sisters and I really enjoyed our weekend in Buswells Hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful. A lovely cosy bar to return to after a day shopping with great bar food. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a city break.

comments On entering the hotel it had an air of grandeur but my elation quickly banished when I entered my room. It was a triple room as requested but didn't seem to belong to the rest of the hotel. The bedcovers were very drab and had seen better days, the sheers on one side of the window were soiled and the ceiling near the entrance to the room was water damaged. Despite these observations I would definitely stay at Buswells but would check the room before I moved in, as I am sure that my room wasn't the norm for this hotel. I will add that despite the curtains being soiled the rest of the room was very clean.

Close enough to Temple Bar to walk there, but far enough away from the noise etc. The room was comfortable, quiet, and very clean. comments The hotel is very well located in relation to central Dublin attractions. The dining room is pleasant and all the staff very friendly. Breakfast was excellent during our stay. Bedrooms can be very small, and those on the back have a poor outlook. The hotel does not look attractive from the Kildare St corner but is fine when going hrough the main entrance on Molesworth St. As with all Dublin hotels, it is expensive for what it is.

comments A lovely hotel in the heart of Dublin with staff that are friendly and extremely helpful - they even had a re-charge jack for my mobile phone! The food at the bar was tasty and reasonable and the muffins at breakfast were to die for. The rooms were clean, but do take seriously the note on the shower wall to allow time for hot water - it took nearly 10 minutes for the water to finally become warm - so turn it on and busy yourself with other things for a while! Would stay there again without question!

comments We were very pleased with the location, ambience and rooms at Buswell's. However, we were very disappointed in the "concierge" and front desk staff. Specifically, my family was very interested in watching authentic Irish dancing while in Dublin. The concierge recommended a pub (The Blarney Inn) where dancing started at 7pm since we have young children. After we finished an awful meal, we were told that the dancing would not begin until 9:30 pm! Additionally, we discovered that we could have attended a Riverdance performance which was just a few blocks away from the hotel. The staff was frankly unhelpful and misinformative.

The staff were friendly and efficient, and the breakfast generous and of excellent quality. It may not have the sports facilities of the nearby Shelbourne, but it is half the price and for a cicy centre stay at a reasonable price, look no further.

comments I love Buswells - and always try to stay there when in Dublin The staff are kind and attentive, breakfasts "grand" and location wonderful. However, I was rather depressed this time by a room which was surprisingly "utilitarian". I really think a doorless "wardrobe" ensuring that the first thing one sees is an ironing board when entering the room does not make a very comforting impression. Could Buswells not return to a more elegant style. Cecily

comments I always enjoy staying at Buswells but this time I was very disappointed in the breakfast service. I did not get the breakfast I ordered and the waitress was very offhand to American visitors. She never returned to ask if everything was ok and I had to help the people at the next table with their order.

comments Lovely, "old world" hotel with great atmosphere and helpful staff. They cheerfully switched my room when I told them the one on the street was too noisy for me; the kitchen staff put my hot pack in the microwave on request each morning; they changed my dollar travelers checks; the concierge had great suggestions. The location was PRIME, right across from the National Museum and 5 minutes from Grafton Street, but still very quiet (I just need a quieter room than most). All in all, a delightful stay!

comments The staff of Buswell's, from desk to dining, were uniformly kind and helpful. The hotel is perfectly located for anyone who wants to visit major places like Trinity College, St. Patrick's or Christ Church but who would also enjoy delightful walks on Grafton Street and Templebar. I would certainly choose Buswells on a future visit.

comments Very satisfied, once they had moved us to better rooms after the first night. I had reserved a long time ago and was disappointed to be given rooms (2 rooms) which had a view of someone's big airconditioning units and a wall only a few feet away, and a rather crassy roof of another house. But they were very polite and as soon as the rooms became available, they changed them.

comments In terms of size it was a good size, it was clean etc. The room was at the front of the hotel close to the front entence. As we arrived on the Bank Holiday Monday we didn't realise that there would be so much traffic noise in the morning. Also had a noisy lot hanging around the front after some sort of event. Would have been better if we were asked if we wanted that location or another room (even if it was smaller.)

comments Buswell's is located in the centre of Dublin with excellent access to all amenties. Comfortable, cosy with a good bar and lounge area, food is general fare but nicely prepared and served by very courteous staff. Rooms vary in size but are quiet and clean, and were you can relax. Good place to stay and I particularly like the restaurant were breakfast and lunch are served with plenty of room between tables giving people some privacy.

comments Friendly Staff, Comfortable room and well stocked bar. Recommend the restaurant if you fancy posh nosh. If you like a quiet night I suggest that you ask for a room that does not face the road, the traffic can be quite noisy through the night. All in all a great hotel.

comments Excellent location for Dublin centre and surprisingly quiet at night. Rooms were small but clean and with usual facilities. Staff were helpful. For info a taxi to the airport cost us about 30 euros, we caught the bus on the way in and had a bit of a trek from O'Connell Street.

comments I booked the hotel as part of our honeymmon - we are staying in all of the major capitals in Europe and this was our third stop and by far the best! We were upgraded to a suite and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is amazing if you want traditional georgian and in an excellent position. We will definately be back!
