comments The hotel is well placed and the staff very helpful. Everywhere was very clean and the hotel has recently been refurbished. Our room was small and there was a draught from the window, however there was plenty of heat when the card was inserted to activate the system. All in all a very enjoyable visit and the Chinese restaurant food was divine. My husband availed of an upper body massage which he thoroughly recommended. It was unfortunate that there were not many people in the lounge of a late evening which took away from the atmosphere. Otherwise an excellent venue and hotel. Thanks to all the staff for their welcome and support.

comments Lovely hotel, refurbished bedroom. Nice modern decor. Wonderful shower - no bath but that suited me just fine. Perfect location, just off O'Connell Street and opposite city tour bus stop and round corner from airport bus pick up. Only negative comment is that they appeared to be rather short staffed on our second morning at breakfast but the staff were very helpful if you asked them for anything. I would definitely stay there again if visiting Dublin.

comments The hotel was very well laid out, The receptionist was very efficient. There were three lifts which were very well maintained, the room were very clean and alot of information given on the hotel including the three restaurants in the building, service was very quick when an item was requested. The beds were also very comfortable. The television also had a lot of functions such as internet, music channels and movies which are al charged at a fee, upon entering the room the television displayed a personal welcome with my name on the screen which i thought was a nice touch. i would definately recommend this hotel as it is also very central located just off O'Connell street, only a few minutes from the spire.

comments The rooms were very good and well equipped. However, we were not advised that the hotel was being revamped and that there was considerable building work taking place. This did NOT present any noise problem but obviously the dining room was running on limited facilities with perhaps some restriction on their usual menu. Nevertheless the staff were extremely helpful and hardworking. Our group had no complaints at all with our stay.

comments No mention was made that this was still a MAJOR building site nor that the new bar and resturaunts were not open as they should have been. Whilst we expected some work still unfinished this was far more than we were led to believe, the restaurant was packed which meant that we had to find elsewhere to eat on the Sunday night. Our room was very cold due to the fact that all the corridors where open to the elements. However with this said you can see that the hotel will be a lovely place to stay once all the work is completed.

comments the hotel is under renovation at present. Breakfast very very poor. I have never seen toast just left on the hot [plate for customers. very poor quality food items i.e. bacon, sausage, eggs cooked and held hot for unnaceptable length of time. Four waiters on each of the three mornings i stayed there, standing around, plenty of time to make fresh toast. No management presence and why is the shutter tio the kitchen open so the old chef can stare out at the customers

comments When i visited Dublin, the Academy hotel was undergoing refurbishment. Scaffolding outside and boxes in reception were unsightly, but the staff, bar and rooms were pleasant. Housekeeping trollies with bundles of bedlinen etc were a major health hazzard as corridors were extremely narrow. If the hotel got a face lift I would go back as it was very central. Food was lovely. A no frills hotel worth the money!

comments At the moment the Hotel is undergoing major renovations. Although we had not been made aware of this. Half the Hotel was missing and the reception area was only reached via a building site. At the time we were there they were starting the work at 7.30 in the morning! There were also tests of the fire alarm system but the staff never thought to teel the guests about this or even apologise for the panic caused. As far as I'm concerned it should not be open whilst it is undergoing such major work.

comments Due to the hotel being extended, there was scaffolding everywhere. The first room we were put in was on the 7th floor. Both windows overlooked the builders inner work area, the bathroom couldn't be used as there was no privacy. The reception staff moved us to a room on the second floor at our request. The noise spoilt the stay. Although having said that, the rooms were clean, staff were friendly and the breakfast was good.

comments This hotel is fairly centrally located and within easy walking distance of all the main sites. We were very happy with our room, ensuite and the breakfast. The one drawback is that it is located next to a bar that runs a very noisy "club' at night. We wer promptly moved to a room on the other side for the remainder of our stay. However, the efficiency with which they moved us shows they must be very used to complaints about the noise. a problem that is unfortunately outside their comtrol.
