The Citihostel was my first hostel in Ireland and I had a great time there. Since I hadn't planed a thing concerning my travels in Ireland I was happy that the staff was so supporting. So all what metters in keywords: very good situated, clean, welcoming and friendly staff, great value!

But for the friendly guy at the reception, the place was very bad . We had a private ensuite room , water was dropping from the ceiling on the floor of the bathroom when it was raining, the door of the shower seemed not having been cleaned for years, I had to do it myself before we can use it, the bed frame of the bunk beds were broken and the mattresses were going through despite the added wooden bars. Never seen such a dirty kitchen! and it is the only place were our food was stolen in the frige during our stay in Ireland. Well located, but there are better places around. Denise, from France

price of 8-bed room in centre of dublin is really nice and room was also quite good. showers and toilets were awfull, In my opinion somebody should clean showers and toilets every day or buy new facility, because I feel nausea in this shower - in iron cage. I know we paid only 10e per night, but this was horrible.

Staff was really friendly and obliging (and funny guys, too :) ). The rooms are as small as you expect it from a backpackers hostel, but clean and really cosy. I'll probably come back :)

To begin with, the card reader was broken during my stay so i couldn't pay by card which was quite annoying. The hot water was also broken so we couldn't shower. The floor in the dorm was really dirty and there was no mirror in the room. They did let us leave our cases in the hostel after we'd checked out though, which was helpful.

We had an AWFUL stay at this hostel!! Features of the accommodation include: broken glass in a smashed picture on the wall, holes in the walls and floors, the shower in our private room (which we paid extra for) flooded and when we asked for assistance nobody bothered fixing the problem for the remaining 2 days of our visit. My friend had to finish off her shower in the communal washroom which was like something out of a horror film - dark and creepy. Dirty showers, you couldnt close the shower doors as they were impossible to open from inside, and our shower had someone elses dental floss stuck to the wall. Our room also had a stuck lock on the door which took forever and a lot of shoving to open or close. The store room to keep luggage in was also flooded and damp, with a pile of laundry in the corner which I can only hope does not end up on the beds!! The only good thing about this hostel was the central location.

Ordered 3 Beds in a 4 dorm, got a single and a double bed. Had to sleep with one buddy in the same bed, not what I wanted. After the 2nd night we got the room we originally booked for.

The worst hostel i have ever stayed in. Bathroom was very open with just a curtain for the shower, and freezing because of the holes in the walls, roof and floor. Mice in our room, + terrible security - friends got things stolen from their rooms because everyone knows the door codes (no keys) which have never been changed. no lockers provided. Good location.

The hostel mixed up my accomodation; so instead of a four bed dorm with ensuite bathroom, I was placed in an eight bed dorm with common bathroom and a big hole in the floor. The common bathroom was shared among people from four levels and there were no doors for the showers, so it was quite dangerous since it was unisex. In addition, once the door of the shower stall was closed, it was almost pitch dark. So either way it was not very safe because any man could have walked in on females showering. The staff was helpful enough in trying to remedy the problem. They gave me the use of their staff bathroom but again, there were no hooks and it was really dark inside so it did not make anything better. Luckily I only stayed for one night. The whole environment just was not very favourable for showering or even staying in. It was also quite far away from the main tourist area, the temple bar, and the guinness storehouse. Friendly staff but with an unfavourable environment, I wouldn't recommend it to any female travellers.

friendly staff and for that price a very good accommodation which is next to all important locations in Dublin (Connolly Station, Central Bus Station, Temple Bar, O'Connell Street etc.)!

It was the worst hostel i have ever stayed in, the bathroom were unhygienic and there was only one for three floors of people. The staff were rude.
