comments The guesthouse is best situated to the important places and nevertheless very calm. The security is evident, because everyone who would enter has to ring the bell and one of the team opens the door. We´ve had a very convenient stay and can recommend this guesthouse to everbody.

comments Most of the staff was friendly, especially the son of the owners :) The room was ice cold, and towels were missing. Beautiful sitting room with open fire, but the rest of the interior really needs to be overlooked.

comments We booked a Double Room for a 3 night stay on "Room Only" basis for our stay in December 2010. We received a warm welcome from the friendly staff upon arrival. The festive decor throughout added a nice touch. We had arrived earlier than anticipated, but we were advised that our room was ready, so after a quick check-in - we were shown to our room. The room basic, but tastefully decorated and adequate for our needs. The rooms were cleaned daily. The only downside was there is no Tea and Coffee in the Room, however this facility can be purchased for an extra charge, or Take-Away Tea and Coffees can be purchased from Reception. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay and would definitely stay here again, or recommend.

comments The Anchor Guesthouse is at a central but quiet location, with an extremely friendly and helpful staff! The only thing that prevented us fom rating 5 out of 5 was the breakfast: You can choose ONE option from a menu with 5 options (Scrambled eggs with beans OR fruits with yoghurt OR Scambled eggs with bacon OR ...) and it is not really so much. We asked for some more and the very friendly waitress brought us some extra. But it would have been much better if they offered an buffet. Nevertheless, nice place, good price: We would recommend it!!

comments The guesthouse was exactly what we expected and more. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room we had was big with a nice bathroom without any unnecessary luxury. Central location, only 10 minutes to Temple Bar.

comments I have recently just started a new job and while looking for an apartment i have been staying at the Anchor house and they have been great, able to check in early sometimes and can leave my bags when i cant rooms are old fashioned but clean and neat, showers are hot, breakfast great at the reception girl is so friendly which in a lot of B&bs you dont find nowadays and i should know i am a hotel manager

comments Our stay at the Anchor Guest house was excellent. It's not the most modern place I've stayed in, not the most beautiful, but all that was immaterial to the friendly welcome, the cleanliness, the helpful staff and the sheer convenience of being in the middle of Dublin with O'Connell St. literally round the corner. You won't find a lovely welcome like that at these modern Inns or Lodges, I like the humour and humanity of the place, If we ever get to Dublin again we'll be back.

comments The location is brillant for shopping, transport, restaurants and area of interest. The rooms are well kept and clean. For the kettle you will need to ask for it against a payment of five euro paid once during your stay. The staff are very helpful. If I had to apend some time in Dublin surely I will stay in teh same B & B - Anchor guesthouse!

comments Conveniently placed to be able to walk to the city centre easily. Opposite the bus station (747 service operates from the airport frequently). Lots of places to eat nearby and a great pub with live music every evening just around the corner. The staff at the guesthouse were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean. Absolutely everything you need for a great stay in Dublin.

comments The location of this place is great-truly around the corner from the main bus station (which you can easily get to from Dublin Airport via the Airlink bus) and just north of the River Liffey. I got there around 11a after a long flight and, although my room wasn't ready yet, I was greeted warmly and invited to leave my luggage there so I could leave and start exploring. When I did get to check-in a few hours later, I found a nice, clean room with an equally clean bathroom. I was surprised at the size of the bed at first as I thought it was a king, but it turned out to be two twins connected to make a king (or at least that's what it felt like). The bed wasn't uncomfortable, but it was a bit too hard for my liking, but that's a risk you run at every hotel. The en-suite was very nice and clean, but also very small. I'm not a short person, so I found it difficult to use the cubicle-like shower, but I managed. The only other issues I experienced with the hotel were the lack of a lift (stairs are tough with a heavy bag to carry!) and the fact that the wifi didn't work at all. I did bring the wifi issue up with someone on staff, but he wasn't sure what to do, so he asked me to troubleshoot, which I did, but it didn't work. I was able to connect to another network though, so it worked out. Despite these few smaller issues, I still had a great stay. The breakfast in the morning was good, but not great. And, as others have pointed out, there are no meat options (sausage, ham, bacon, etc.) on the menu. I didn't mind that, but it's worth pointing out. With a great location, a great staff and an overall comfortable experience, I would recommend the Anchor Guest House!

comments Booked/Stayed for only one night. Online booking easy. Room clean. Walking distance to the Connolly Train station, and City Centre (Temple, Grafton street). Helpful staff. Breakfast is an extra cost if you decide in the morning to eat in the nice dining room. The full Irish breakfast is not on the menu at the Anchor Guest House. Room prices are comparable to other B&Bs in Ireland.

comments As usual, the accomodations were clean and the staff was very accomodating. There is a lift available which really is a plus. Only disappointment is that there is now a charge for breakfast. On previous stays it was included in the overall fee. I can understand the reasoning behind the charge but I think a continental breakfast could be included without charge. Overall, still a good B&B for accessing Dublin sights. Wickenburg, Az. USA

comments Ottima posizione, a due passi dal centro. Buona la colazione, meno pesante di quelle che si trovano nei locali in centro e più gustosa. Il top è yogurt con frutta. E' una salvezza per evitare mal di stomaco da cibo del luogo. Buono anche il prezzo e la camere sono ok se si vuole solo pernottare. Il personale è sempre disponibile e il B&B è frequentato da diversi italiani. Come tutta l'Irlanda del resto. Portatevi un asciugacapelli.

comments There are good and bad aspects to Anchor Guesthouse in Dublin. The location of the Guest House was very convenient. We were within walking distance from most of the attractions, and the Bus Eireann station was a block away. There we also bad aspects to Anchor Guesthouse. Tea was not provided in the room and if we wanted it we had to pay. In addition to the lack of tea, we were not advised if breakfast was included, and if it was, when it was served. Overall, I was satisfied with Anchor Guesthouse, but there were areas that could be improved.

comments I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Anchor Guesthouse! I was traveling to Dublin for 3 days and looked on line for a a place to stay, other than youth hostels, for a reasonable price. I found the Anchor guesthouse and was so happy to see through the website that it was clean, well located close to the bus centre, offered good security as I was traveling alone, and even offered breakfast. Upon my arrival I was not disappointed. Everyone was friendly, the place was clean, nicely decorated, I had my own bathroom and felt very safe as the front door is always locked. You can walk 3 blocks toward city center and catch the Dublin tour bus, or tour the city easily by foot. If you are looking for an affordable nice place to stay this is it! Two side notes: 1. The location is about 3 or so blocks off of city center. There are larger, higher star hotels in city center, but very expensive, and in the middle of the busy city. 2. There is free WiFi, but not available in the rooms, just the sitting rooms. Not a problem, just good to know.

comments My room was right outside the hallway door, which closed very loudly. "Every" time someone went though that door, I knew it. It would make a big difference to put something on that door to muffle the closing sound. Other than that. my stay was quite nice.

comments Jerry Coyne (owner?) was extremely helpful in assisting us with directions and advice to get us onto our next destination. The entire staff was very polite and welcoming. It was quiet at night. The location was very central to the sights we wanted to visit so we could walk there.We would definitely stay there again on a future visit.

comments Nettes B&B mit sehr freundlichem Personal, zentral und somit auch verkehrsgünstig gelegen. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge mit Bus und Bahn in Dublin und Umgebung. Die Zimmer sind im Hinterhaus untergebracht, also ruhig, und machen einen gepflegten Eindruck. Man kann sich hier also durchaus wohlfühlen!

Breakfast arrangements have changed and there is no longer a selection of fruit & other items to choose from when you go in, although these can be ordered. Have to remember to bring shower gel & shampoo. It would be nice to have a dispenser in the shower.

The only thing that I found a bit annoying is the necessity to ring the bell to be able to enter the premises. I would prefer if the door would be always open.

comments All in all, my stay at Anchor Guesthouse was very pleasant. The staff was friendly and always willing to help. The room was clean and comfortable. At night and also in the morning, there was sometimes quite a lot of noise outside, since there's a shopping centre right at the back of the Guesthouse where supplies come in almost every day, and a music bar is quite near where people party unitl late, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. The noise was not really too disturbing, but there sure are quieter places. By the way, the location as such is perfect, since you can walk to all major attractions and have a huge variety of bars and restaurants very close. The guest sitting room is cozy and spacious, and there is fast wireless internet access. If you are a smoker you have to go outside and smoke in the car park, but you can do it anytime you want.

comments Ubicacion inmejorable a dos pasos de O,conell street, el autobus 41 del aeropuerto deja a un paso y a la vuelta a medio.Hay supermercados (Un telco bastante grande) en talbot street , muy cerca, asi como pubs, panaderias..etc. En general ubicacion perfecta y locales muy cerca. El trato muy bueno y sin ningun tipo de problema, muy amables todos.La habitacion amplia con baño particular y todo bastante bien conservado. Hay dos cosas a tener en cuenta, las habitaciones que dan a la calle, como fue mi caso, son ruidosas a partir de las 8 de la mañana aproximadamente por el trafico por lo que hay que tenerlo en cuenta y respecto al desayuno como casi todo en Dublin, es caro. No recuerdo exactamente el precio, pero puedes elegir entre varios tipos que no concuerdadn mucho con el tipico desayuno y si quieres pan tostao con mantequilla y mermelada con con un cafe son 5 euros.En la calle no es mas barato.

Unter der Bettdecke war es warm, im Zimmer aber nicht (Januar). Auch die Müllabfuhr jeden Morgen vom benachbarten Bürohaus war nicht schön. Beides störte mich aber nicht weiter.

Excellent location: 2 minutes walk from the bus station and 5 minutes from O'Connell St. I had a lovely three-nighter and even got a free ticket for the sight-seeing bus.

comments Very friendly and helpful staff. I had a brief stay with an odd schedule and they were very accomodating. Nothing fancy about the room or facilities, but for the price it's better than fair. Very glad for the free wireless internet access; the house phone was out of order, but there's a call center a few doors down. Soap in the (very clean) bathroom but no shampoo. Overall I was very pleased and expect to return next time I'm in Dublin.

Unica nota negativa è stata la pressione della doccia, al secondo e terzo piano, bassissima; ogni doccia è stata come sopportare una penitenza. Praticamente a livelli insopportabili.

comments The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was extremely comfortable and clean. This was a very pleasant place to stay. Aside from the lack of TV channels, I really enjoyed my stay. The location is great, the Guesthouse is comfortable and easy to access, and the room was fantastic.

comments Cerca del centro, se puede ir andando. Parking cerrado para dejar el coche. Zona tranquila, llena de B&B y albergues para mochileros. Habitacion correcta (aunque la colcha estaba descolorida de tanto lavarla). Baño bien. Mi habitacion estaba en el 2º piso y como era un edificio antiguo no habia ascensor, aunque el recepcionista me ayudo a subir la maleta. Desayuno variado y correcto.

comments The location was excellent for proximity to the bus station and town. The room was clean and spacious but the mattresses were old, squeaky and sagging in the middle. The staff were not helpful when we requested to cancel our booking and re-book at an advertized reduced cost and claimed they did not receive my email requesting that service, nor did they offer any compensation such as free breakfast. I was terribly disappointed in their reluctance to honour their website's promise of responding to emails.

comments Having been a regular visitor to Anchor Guesthouse over the last ten years or so, it was disappointing to find that breakfast now attracts an additional charge to the room rate and, more to the point, there is no Full Irish Breakfast available. So to get a full breakfast one must go elsewhere for it. Might just as well stay somewhere that does do a good breakfast. It is a great shame as the Anchor has been, up to now, a great place to stay.

comments Our stay at he Anchor guest house in Dublin was brilliant.The room was really good and clean and th e staff were really nice and very helpful especially when my partner fell ill the day we were ment to be leaving,they allowed us to keep the room till late in the afternoon to give him some time to recover before we had to head off to the airport.I would recomend the Anchor to anyone. comments Very clean and comfortable accommodation. Staff were exceptionally friendly and very helpful. We didn't have breakfast there but it smelt very good!! The only downside was the charge of 6 euros to have tea and coffee in your room whether you were there one night or one week, we thought that was a bit steep. comments My single room was clean and quiet - it was in the back part of the house and there was no noise at all - I had a great night's sleep. The bed was a good size - not a tiny single. The breakfast was lovely, and the staff very friendly. The Guest House is in an ideal location for exploring the centre of Dublin, and is very handy for public transport. comments The staff was warm and hospitable- we loved our stay! We were leaving very early on our last day and the staff took the initiative to prepare a breakfast tray for us as we were departing before the normal dining hours! Very thoughtful and eager to please!

comments Accueil parfait très sympathique. Le personnel est au petits soins pour les clients. Juste une petite remarque : si vous n'avez pas d'eau chaude , signaler-le et vous serez satisfait imédiatement. Tout le reste est parfaitement correct. j'y retournerai avec un grand plaisir

comments Me and my wife had a very peasant stay at the Anchor Guesthouse. It was glorious to step into its homely warm temperature coming from the bitterly cold weather outside. The breakfast was superb and the owners very kind and helpful.

Diddnt realise we could have ordered tea/coffee,until the last day when watching the tv. highly recommended.

comments I can highly recommend the Anchor Guest House. It was well located near O'Connel Street and Connelly Station. The rooms were very clean, breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpfull. It was excellent value for money.

comments Pleasantly surprised by our stay given how much we paid. The facilities were very clean and comfortable, everything I would've expected from a hotel but with the personal and friendly service not usually enjoyed at hotels. The added advantage being that it was walking distance from O'Connel Street and airport bus just around the corner. Would definitely stay there again and very happy to recommend it.
