comments I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff were brilliant, friendly , helpful and down to earth. I had made an error and came a day late, I was offered an extra day at a reduced rate! The hotel is old style but contemporary in the bedroom decor. Immaculately clean. One draw back is the noise from the main street but then if you want a hotel situated as conveniently as The Mercantile you should accept this. I will definitely be back.

comments This is the second time I have stayed in the Mercantile Hotel, and it is certainly the second time I have been extremely satisfied. Staff are most friendly, welcoming and approachable too. They have on more than one occasion gladly given valuable advice on the 'hot spots' in Dublin, which has been very useful as a non-local visitor. The rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished. Furthermore, the bar downstairs offers excellent food and a wonderful ambience at night time, where you can sit back and enjoy a drink with the many other guests and visitors to the hotel. With all of this combined with its perfectly situated city location, I cannot recommend enough the Mercantile Hotel. My better half and I are eager to visit again!

comments We were very grateful that the hotel held our bags for us on check in, so we could go out and sight see and also when we departed. That was a wonderful bonus. The rooms where quite nice and clean. Our only thing was we had a view of the roof top next door and alley way. Other than that, it was wonderful. Thanks a million for making our stay in Dublin enjoyable.

comments Struttura datata ma molto calda ed accogliente. Personale solo lingua inglese ma molto disponibile e cortese. Colazione molto varia, alla carta, no buffet, assolutamente eccezionale. Prezzo ottimo.

comments We really enjoyed our stay at the Mercantile Hotel. The hotel is in a great position to enjoy all Dublin has to offer. The hotel itself is lovely very traditional, all of the staff were friendly and efficient, the food is good and reasonably priced. The bedrooms are a little tired and face the rather busy Dame Street, but you are in the city centre, this did not bother us too much as we were back late anyway. On the whole very good value for money would definitely stay here again

comments Trying to order bar food proved to be very difficult. Bar staff not very helpful. Told to sit down and someone would come, but nobody did on 2 separate occasions. Very noisy room from road noise, possibly due to old windows not double glazed. On a more positive note the room was very clean and bed comfortable. Reception staff very nice.

comments I think I am being generous with the three. The room we stayed in was not the room I asked for. They gave us an occupied room to start and then realized the mistake and gave us another room with two beds when I asked for a double room. The room was musty and dark and the walls appeared to have mold on them. The room was carpeted and the double rooms I was supposed to get had hardwood which I prefer. Everything was clean but I was disappointed about the mix up of the rooms and the condition of the room in which I stayed. It needs to be seriously tended to and the musty/mold situation needs to be addressed. Also, when checking out, the man at the desk had no idea how to run the credit card machine so he wrote my number down so someone else could run it later! Major security issue there! However most of the staff was very helpful. I am happy with the staff and the cleanliness of the room but there are still several things that need to be addressed.

comments I stayed here for six days with my boyfriend, over all the location was excellent, the staff were very friendly and the bar was a useful amenity if you felt like having a quiet night in. We were in walking distance of almost all the major city center landmarks. The only downside was our room was on the 4th floor and so got very hot in the evening, we would leave the windows open most of the time but on a friday/saturday night te array of sirens, car horns and pedestrians singing made it very difficult to get a nights sleep. Have your early night Monday to Thursday, go out and enjoy Friday and Saturday and you'll have a wonderful stay at this Hotel.

The staff at the hotel were exceptionally friendly and we felt that we could talk to them if we had a problem and were able ask about directions etc. Easy to get to from hotel. Only issue is noise, but then what do you expect from staying in the main area of Dublin.

comments This hotel was a great find! Excellent city centre location near Grafton st, trinity college, o'connell st & temple bar for only £20 per night when booked online! Room was a good size, clean, comfortable & great value for the price. Hotel food was good, missed breakfast twice. Great selection of drinks in hotel bar and not too expensive as far as dublin prices go. Bar and hotel staff very friendly...they were only 2happy to organise taxi's for a group of us heading to the o2 for a concert! I had a room at the front so you could hear some noise from the street but not enough to keep us awake...however for light sleepers and families with young children I maybe would suggest asking for a room at the back of the hotel. Will most defintely stay here again on my next trip 2Dublin. Thanks Mercentile!

I'm visiting Dublin again next month would love to stay at The Mercatile but wont due to noise level.

Lots to do in the local area and as i was busy working she got busy shopping locally, Stephens green and Grafton street 3 mins walk so happy days for the ladys. Rooms may need a lil upgrading but i suppose it is georgian dublin so not alot to be expected from such an old building. Lots of history in this place. All in all a good place if you want to see the real Dublin, but not great if you gonna be spending alot of time in the hotel rooms.

comments Staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. There is a nice atmosphere and the location is in a lively part of Dublin. It is quite noisy, not great if you are a light sleeper. I wasn't bothered myself though. The room itself could have been a lot better a bit tatty and the maintenance was not so good. No light bulb in standard lamp, broken drawer, curtains not hung properly. However, the bed was comfortable and bathroom wasn't too bad. Very nice bar in hotel. Did enjoy stay in The Mercantile hotel in general but there was a lack of effort in presentation of the room which was disappointing considering the price - 144 euro. Despite bad points I think I would try this place again because generally has the potential of being a lot better and the location is fantastic.

comments My husband I loved the Mercantile Hotel. Our trip took us to the Isle of Man, London, and Paris as well. The Mercantile was by far and away the best hotel we visited. The front desk staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We were exhausted from the flight, and they cleaned our room quickly so we could check in early. The room was larger than expected, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was especially nice. The bar was delightful and the bartenders were friendly. The location was perfect; we were right in the thick of it, with tons of excellent restaurants and pubs right outside the door. It could get a little noisy outside at night, but they put us in a room where we could barely hear the street traffic. We could walk to everything we wanted to see, and it's close to a bus station. So walking with luggage wasn't difficult. I'd definitely stay there again.

comments The hotel was in a great location. Close by to the main tourist attractions. The hotel itself was ok, for what is is. It lacked decent air conditioning, the rooms felt very very stuffy. The leaflets in the room were outdated, aswell. Labelling dinner being served until 10pm, when it finished at 8pm. Also listed was late check-out and room service. All of which is no longer provided. Which is fine, but the leaflets in the room should be updated so as not to confuse customers. Otherwise, I think i would stay there again.

comments The hotel is located in a very convenient location - near shopping, restaurants, Trinity and Temple Bar. We walked everywhere. The staff was fantastic. My daughter was moving to Dublin, and they were extremely helpful directing us to safe places for her to live, telling us about bus routes, and pointing out all the shopping locations. They made our stay so much better.

comments Have stayed several times now. First great location! The staff really very friendly and welcoming! Genuine and freiendly and down to earth. Really like the rooms as they are large with massive beds. Beds very comfortable and the linen fresh, crisp and white! The rooms have an olde world charm about them and one feels at home straight away. Bathrooms excellent and very well served. Excellent breakfast served by very accommodating and friendly staff. The prices could not be beaten for such an excellently located hotel. I would recoomend this to anyone who is looking to stay close to all the sights and action that Dublin has to offer. comments I selected this hotel because of its proximity to attractions and was pleased from this point of view. The hotel was quaint and the staff pleasant. BUT don't stay here if sleep is important to you!!!! We stayed here two nights. The music from the pubs kept us up until about 2:00 am. Then someone in the room above us was rehearsing for Riverdance. At about 6:00 am the garbage truck came down the alley dumbing a million empty beer bottles. We requested to move to the other side of the hotel the next night. Couldn't hear the music, but did hear yelling and screaming 'til all hours. I really thought someone was being beaten to death. Went down to confirm our taxi to the airport had been called at about 6:15 am and went into the adjoining pub. There were several people at the bar drinking and smoking, broken glass was all over the floor, spilled beer and food everywhere. Again, clean rooms, pleasant staff, but not a place for those who desire sleep and aren't up for hardcore partying.

comments We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the "Merc" in Dublin. We were unsure of your proximity to the Temple Bar crowds & noises but the location was just fine. In fact it couldn't have been more centrally located to Trinity, Grafton Streeet, Stephens Green and national museums. We traveled from New York City and expect to make another booking on our follow up trip. Thanks so much for your hospitality. Regards, Kevin

comments Great location, very friendly & helpful reception staff. Breakfast was included for our stay, okay first two mornings went to pot on the third, had to clear the table, no bowls, no orange juice, gave up waiting for any tea/coffee. Hotel is a very dark inside not helped by scaffolding over the front during our stay. Room clean, beds comfortable and great water pressure from the shower. Every bus in Dublin must pass by this hotel.

The warmth and friendliness of everyone there made us feel more like family than visitors. The staff were helpful, efficient and went above and beyone to make our stay memorable. The rooms were impeccably clean and the price was more than reasonable. I will highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in Ireland and will definitely be returning.

comments The hotel and staff were wonderful during our 5 night stay. The hotel is older so don't expect a luxury hotel, but for the price, ideal location, service offered, and the personal attention you cannot go wrong. The staff was great with their referals to true local pubs, suggestions for site seeing, help with finding locations of interest, never making us feel like visitors, they treated us like family. The bars were great within the hotel, the restaruant had delicious food. The morning we left they even called a taxi van so we could fit our five person group and luggage and not need to take seperate cars. Location was great because you can walk to anything you wanted to do, Temple bar district across the street, Grafton street a short stroll, multiple points of intrest, hundreds of pubs, bars, restaruants, stores, quick marts, everything! We would definatly stay here again.

Dublin is a great city, great places to eat with good food and plenty of it ! The best pubs with the best atmosphere and of course the best beer. comments The hotel is on a very busy road and our rooms were at the front. The windows are single glazed old sash type and so we had to use ear plugs to get any sleep. The hotel is worn and shabby and the "Irish breakfast" was very basic but the staff were warm, freindly and accommodating. Our friends in the neighbouring room had no shower curtain but this was provided on request and in our room there was a bulb missng from my bedside light which again was provided right away. The bathroom was adequate but had large cracks around some of the tiled area along one wall. The safe didn't work. The room was well decorated and clean and of a good size with enough storage and drawer space. This was my third trip to Dublin this century and I was shocked at the rise in cost of everything over that time - even the hotel staff commented on how the rise has meant that business is poorer and could spell disaster for the hotel trade. Overall we had a good time but that had a lot to do with what Dublin has to offer and that we were with good friends.

comments The location is fabulous, right in the middle of everything. A little noisy perhaps but that's only to be expected. The staff were great, helpful and friendly. We arrived early ish in the morning and our room was ready which was greatly appreciated. It could be noted on the website that the entrance when the bar is closed is round the back up an alleyway. We couldn't find it and a very helpful passerby came to our aid without being asked. A little TLC is perhaps required, but it's an old building wear and tear is to be expected. Overall we were very happy with our stay and will definately stay again when we return, hopefully quite soon.

Also, I don't think my Bookassist deposit was taken into account when I paid my bill. However, I didn't remember to mention it myself either, so the mistake was at least partly on my side.

comments In general a very nice room in an impressive hotel in the old bank. Location was good (lots of restaurants and shops just nearby). The room could have been a bit tidier (e.g. a vacuum cleaner on the floor would have been nice) but it was really not that bad. The breakfast included in the room was somewhat confusing, because there was noone to take my order and for a few minnutes I feared I had payed extra to eat the cereals that was put on the buffet. All that being said, the overall impression of the place was very good, and I would not mind booking a room there again.

comments Adams Trinity was DEFINITELY a FANTASTIC hotel to stay in-the staff were incredibly friendly and MORE than willing to help us in our numerous touristy queries (and anything else we requested-i.e buckets of ice!). The bar provided a great starter point and atmosphere before heading out.The hotel is right in the center of dublin so its accessible to everything you need. And most importantly, the rooms were clean and tidy and have all that you need(well, except a fridge to keep our drinks cold: )hence the buckets of ice!) I would most DEFINITELY choose to stay there again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

comments The room was amazing, I didn't expect anything like it for the very cheap price we paid. The restaurant was again, amazing, great food, great selection. Later on at the bar I only needed to order once before the barman knew our order, asking "the usual?", making us feel very much at home. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

comments Everything regarding our stay was fantastic, we had a lovely time in Dublin. The service was very efficient and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, just the right size for the three of us. The hotel location couldn't be better. The only problem we had was we couldn't find the hotel on arrival. We got to Dame St quite easily, but the number 28 isn't on the side of the street where the even numbers are and the actual entrance to the hotel is at the rear of Dame St, so we spent like one hour trying to find the hotel. It would be helpful to potential visitors if you mention on your website that the hotel entrance is at the back of The Mercantile Bar & Grill on Dame St.

comments On the advert it said there was parking available. This was the sole reason that I booked as I had a large transit type van that I wanted to leave in a secure place. On arrival I was told the only parking was on the road and I would have to hunt for somewhere. As all car parks in Dublin are multi storey I had great difficulty, this caused us to miss our night out in Dublin. When I booked I included a message that I needed to park a van.

comments excellent city centre location, close to restaurants, easy to walk around the city. Our room was a bit noisy. The staff was friendly and helpful. Good victorian bar.

comments Altogether there was 6 of us in our party. We were really impressed with the Adams Trinity. It is a very traditional hotel, decorated with really dark wood. A bit tricky to find but after reading reviews on how to find it (down the side street) they proved helpful. There are 3 bars situated under the hotel which were handy, and were still buzzing at 3am. It is a clean hotel, the staff are friendly and were happy to store our bags after checking out. Cooked breakfast is included in price of room and was very nice. Would go back again.

comments It was noisy but we expected to be. Great location near the castle. Friendly staff. Breakfast a bit disappointing but perfectly okay and the room was fine. If you are looking for the Novatel style accommodation this is not for you.

comments The hotel is in a handy position for Temple bar and shopping. The rooms were very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. We've stayed in several hotels in Dublin and will definitely be staying at the Adams Trinity again. The hotel itself is a lovely building - full of character. The breakfast is nice and the restaurant food good.

comments Very friendly and helpful staff at the reception during my short stay. The room was comfortable and clean and plenty of room for myself. Delightfully central to what I wanted, and I would have no hestitaion in staying there again, and let me add too, this is very good value for Dublin City. Happy to recommend it.

comments Of all the hotels we stayed in in Ireland (7 in all) we felt that Adams Trinity had most character and sense of the past. We appreciated the decor and felt we were in the heart of the city.

comments great location, easy walking distance to many tourist sights to the hop on hop off buses. Room was standard, though very clean. No air con, heating though. Downfall - if you want an early night, take ear plugs - the hotel is literally above a pub, and next to another half dozen.

comments Great hotel, great room on the 4th floor. They have a good resaurant and bar downstairs that has great atmosphere. Best bar is Dame street bar behind the hotel. To close to Temple bar area very very noisy all night long. Other than that I had a great stay at the Adams Trinity.

comments found the choice at breakfast disappointing if you didn't want a cooked breakfast, and items such as cutlery, butter missing from table. The reception staff were most helpful.

comments The hotel was fine for a city centre establishment; The room had character and although was noisy as it was directly on the main street, other rooms that did face away from the street would no doubt have been quieter; There was no parking, and for a motorist visiting Dublin for the first time finding somewhere to part nearby did cause an anxious time, although when found, at the Drury Lane underground park the service from the car park staff and the cost for leaving the car there overnight was a very reasonable 15.60Euro. On arrival, a member of the car park staff even took me to the entrance to the hotel, a mere 30 seconds away; The hotel room was clean but the bathroom could have been cleaner - evidence of a previous guest was clear to see; Breakfast was fair - good have been more freshly cooked - I would have been happy to have waited a little longer for this; The lady in charge of the hotel on main reception made me feel very welcome on arrival and was very helpful prior to me departure with some useful hints about a quick walking tour of the centre of Dublin; I didn't have a chance to try the restaurant but the bar was very welcoming and really quite charming - the staff were very polite; I would probably stay at the hotel again, mostly because it was so convenient for the centre of the City, and especially as I now know where to park my car!

comments The hotel once you get there is amazing - downside is actually finding it, you can't turn right into that end of Dame Street so if you're driving and don't know Dublin well it can be very frustrating, we spent an hour fighting the one-way systems and gave up. The other downside was street noise - if you get a room at the front don't expect to sleep much (ask for a quiet room if you need your beauty kip). On the plus, meals were spot-on in a wonderful old building reeking opulence and style, every room has a big deep bath en suite (great for the travel weary), staff were helpful and full of Irish bonhomie and the location (once you have found it) is nice and central if that's what you're after. Last word of warning, you need to park in the Trinity Car Park round the corner - the hotel does not have it's own car park - reduced rates and security a plus.
